(Lol XD Yeah that's what I thought. Lol jk jk XD)

Nicholas observed Carlisle quietly as he explained, a guarded expression crossed his features. Once he had gathered the gentleman had meant no harm to Lucy, he relaxed. He crouched slightly beside Lucy and offered his hand to her "Miss Lucy, are you sure you're alright?" he asked politely, a tone of concern hinted in his voice. Airic stood by casually, seemingly bored with the situation already. He looked at Carlisle and shrugged nonchalantly "No hard feelings I'm sure." Despite his rather laid-back behavior he had casually edged his way in between Carlisle and Lucy. After all, Carlisle was new. They had no idea how he might react to having a human around, after all, even the most senior Rebel members sometimes got too close to Lucy. The Twins were quite good at their job in keeping Lucy far from the others. Certainly it was their job to do so but at the same time they both silently enjoyed her company. Although Nicholas still found himself slightly guilty having drank her blood which Crypt surely would've scorned him for. Lucy was not to be touched. Like a trophy on the shelf that the Rebel leader allowed them to see but never touch, much like the young Leo.

Crypt had dispersed the crowd of Rebels that had gathered at the door, offering them no other explanation than the situation was being handled. Despite being sent off, many of the Rebels stuck close by to watch Pyra lead the two vampire out of the palace. The palace was like a jungle full of tigers waiting for their chance to strike, eyes gleaming sharply. Crypt, however, was no where to be found. He had retreated to his office, after all, he was a busy man and couldn't spend too long on any given situation. Not to mention he didn't particularly care to face Pyra right now.

Kai kept Ellie close, eyeing the Rebels as they passed through the Palace. Despite Pyra's gentle air and helpfulness, it was clear Kai distrusted her nonetheless. After all, his experiences with the Rebels have always been a bitter one and as far as he was concerned, Pyra was no different. Yet given she had helped them, Kai held his tongue. Ellie introduced them both and that was good enough for him, afraid of what he might say dare he speak. There was still an anger that resided on the tip of his tongue, ready to lash out given the chance. He took a deep breath to try and compose himself.

[Well that's not very nice. XD A trophy huh?]

"I'm not a child." Lucy waved his hand away, relief entered her gaze as she spotted her wallet under a table not too far from where she was. She crawled towards it, being mindful enough of her skirt so that she didn't embarrass herself. Luckily it was a longer one so she didn't have much trouble, sitting back on her legs as she picked up the wallet. It hadn't opened when it hit the floor so nothing had fallen out, she was grateful. Shoving it back into her bag she used the table to stand up, wiping off any dirt that may have clung to her when she was down there. No she wasn't a neat freak, but she did care about her appearance. Her gaze shifted to the three once she felt in order, noting the way Airic positioned himself between them as if expecting something to happen. As if she couldn't handle herself. "Thank you for your help...I'm Lucy." She muttered, reaching out to shake Carlisle's hand. Just to be polite, and maybe to be a tad defiant. Carlisle smiled and took her hand gently, having to move to the side to avoid Airic. His reaction was odd, but seeing as she was human and he was new he wasn't surprised. "Carlisle. Please, allow me to pay for the bag. I feel awful that it broke due to me." He stepped back, not wanting to make the Twins uncomfortable or angry for staying too close. "No, I've been meaning to get a new one, but thank you." Lucy smiled, glancing down at her watch. If she wanted to get something to eat she would have to hurry now. "If you'll all excuse me..."

Pyra walked down the hall, eyeing the few lingering Rebels but seeing no signs of Crypt. Why am I not surprised? Such a child... Admittedly she felt slightly hurt by his actions, but she only waved them away to focus on the task at hand. Ellie and Kai weren't completely safe yet. She ushered them along, giving a warning glance at a couple of Rebels who were getting a bit too close for comfort. The Rebels would no doubt follow orders, but that hardly meant anything. A few of them didn't like Pyra for the simple fact that she was with Crypt, so she wouldn't put it past them to not care if she happened to get hurt in the midst of a scuffle. At this point she didn't even know if Crypt would care... "Lovely names..."she said softly, glancing at them for only a moment before returning her gaze to the few Rebels. "I'll take you down to the gate..." That way she could at least be sure they made it out of the vicinity. A sigh left her lips as they approached the doors, the guards on either side moving forward to open them.

Ellie stuck close to both Kai and Pyra, she may not trust her but she was the most trustworthy here. Her aura gave her no reason to not to believe her and it was in times like this that she was grateful for that ability. It made her a good judge of character, because no one could hide their darkness from her. She winced and squeezed Kai's hand, sensing his anger as if it were her own, hopefully he could stay calm enough for them to get out of here. He could be pretty hot headed at times, especially when it came to her safety.

Nicholas looked a bit wounded by her blunt dismissal, but he said nothing and simply stood back. He crept up alongside his brother, watching her quietly as she crawled across the floor. He tilted his head in a questioning manner though his silent questions were answered by the wallet she withdrew from beneath the table. He turned his attention on Carlisle, reaching out to lightly grab Airic's arm as if to hold him there. He didn't think Airic would do anything, but he also knew his brother could be a bit unpredictable at times. Airic eyed Carlisle closely as he shook Lucy's hand, as if daring him to do anything more. Nicholas nudged Airic, the twins exchanged looks, sharing a silent conversation before Airic sighed and nodded a little. His gaze shifted towards Lucy and he frowned "Where are you going at this hour?" he asked "It's getting late..." he warned. Though they couldn't very well force her to stay, they could at the very least suggest against it. After all, it was dangerous at night and if something were to happen to her they would be held responsible.

A small growl started to form in Kai's throat as one of the Rebels edged just a little too close for comfort. Yet he felt Ellie's hand squeeze his own and for the moment that was enough, his anger subsided a little. He turned his attention forward, taking a deep breath as if to try and compose himself. Though he doubted he would feel better until they were well away from here. He had distrusted the Rebels before and for good reason, but now there was a deep anger and hatred towards them. They had started picking off Nightwalkers one by one and now they had stolen Ellie away. To be perfectly honest, he wasn't entirely sure what had attracted them to her. Did they somehow know about her gifts? He shook his head a little and glanced towards Pyra, a small spark of curiosity towards her. She was a Rebel clearly, though she had been able to stand up to Crypt without repercussion so she wasn't just any ordinary one. Why help us?

Carlisle watched the trio for a moment, an amused smirk upon his lips as he dipped his head. Though he was disappointed she wouldn't let him pay for it he shrugged it off. "I should be getting some rest. You all have a good night." He said quietly and made his way around them to escape to his room. They were an interesting bunch, he'd say that much.

Lucy looked after the newcomer with curiosity as he disappeared around a corner before she looked at the Twins. They seemed oddly cold, she wasn't sure how to take it but it was for the best she supposed. It would make it easier to keep them at a distance, more specifically Airic. "Unless you want me to starve I'm going to go pick up dinner." She replied, biting back on the attitude. Airic told her himself that they didn't keep the kitchen stocked so she didn't have much of a choice in going out. Although really one would think Crypt would've been smart enough to have stocked it with at least a few things for her after she came here if he didn't want her going out at night, but he seemed too preoccupied with other things to remember that a human now lived among them. Typical. Besides she already called ahead so all she had to do was show up, pay and get her order. It wasn't like she would be out for that long, after all she wasn't a big fan of Nightwalkers. Nor was she a fan of bodyguards, but she figured Crypt had probably ordered someone to follow her around whenever she went out. Likely because he didn't trust her and not for her safety she was sure. She sighed and stepped around them, the restaurant would close if she didn't get a move on.

Pyra hurried them out the door and down the steps, pausing a moment to take a deep breath of the night air. Despite being protected by a gate and tons of Rebels she felt uncomfortable being out here though that was more due to the last time she went out alone at night and not because of the Nightwalkers. Her neck still hurt a little from where Damian had bitten her... "You two will be fine to make it home?" She asked as they made it closer to the gate, two guards moving to open it as she glanced down at the two vampires. If Kai wasn't what he was she would offer them shelter for the night, it was dangerous to be out, but she had a feeling he wouldn't let anything happen to the young lady with him. No one would come bursting into a place full of Rebels for someone they didn't deeply care about after all. She smiled to herself for a moment, glancing at the city beyond the gate. There was so much to be done tomorrow, she only hoped the Twins wouldn't be too busy to go out into the city with her. Theoretically she should be safe to go out on her own now since Damian was locked up, but...she shook her head. Now wasn't the time to think about that.

Ellie paused just outside the open gate and looked at Pyra, studying the woman for a moment. She was different from the others in the Palace, it was curious but she didn't ask any of the questions that lingered on her tongue. They would hopefully not meet again though something told her she would probably be brought back here at some point, if they caught her. "We should be fine, thank you for your kindness." She muttered politely, looking at the darkened city with a nervous gleam in her eyes. Her past adventures into the world of night hadn't been pleasant. It didn't help that an odd feeling was arising in her heart though it wasn't a negative one. Weird...she bit her lip, knowing better than to say anything in front of Pyra or the guards.

Airic and Nicholas looked after Carlisle and dipped their heads slightly in a farewell notion. The relaxed a little, after all, it was their job to make sure Lucy stayed safe. Though Carlisle didn't seem to be like the other Rebels, one could never be too careful. They turned their attention on Lucy now, Airic crossed his arms over his chest. He wasn't angry, rather being protective though he had a funny way of showing it. He opened his mouth to reply but Nicholas cut him off, likely to keep things from escalating unnecessarily. After all, it wasn't like the Palace kept food in the kitchen for humans. "Perhaps we should accompany you," Nicholas pointed out, knowing he didn't have to explain why. It was dangerous in the city, especially with the Nightwalkers lurking around. She was smart enough to know that. Airic closed his mouth again and muttered under his breath. Nicholas smiled "If that would be alright, it would put our minds at ease."

Kai seemed to visibly relax the moment they made it out the palace doors, the tension eased away. They weren't completely safe, but honestly he knew they were safer in the city at night than they were anywhere near the palace. Being a Nightwalker himself, the other Nightwalkers wouldn't likely try anything with Ellie. Besides, they far preferred to spend their energy going after the Rebels anyways. He looked back at Pyra evenly and nodded in response, they would be fine. He subconsciously ran his thumb across the back of Ellie's hand, almost in a nervous manner. "Thank you..." he said quietly, peering at Pyra. He didn't think he would ever understand this strange woman. Pleased, however, to see that Crypt wasn't almighty and powerful after all. He turned away to start heading to the city, letting out a heavy sigh.

Lucy paused as Nicholas spoke up again, pressing one slightly tanned hand to her forehead and rubbing at the smooth skin in frustration. There was nothing more that she wanted to do than to avoid them, but they were making it difficult on her. Even if she did say no she knew they were going to follow her anyway or, at the very least, have someone else follow her and she really didn't want some random Rebel stalking her into the city. Despite how distant she was acting she still trusted them more than any other vampire within this city and it wasn't easy to turn her back on them entirely. It would break her though she would do well to deny that, for now. A sigh left her lips as she ran her hand through her red hair, shaking out the long locks before she spoke. "Fine...come on..."she muttered quietly as she started walking again. The air in the Palace was oddly still though she wasn't concerned enough to figure out why, surely if something was going on things wouldn't be this quiet so she shook it off for the time being. She needed to focus because they were right, going out into the city at night was dangerous and being distracted would just make her an easier target. Not that the Twins would let anything happen to her, but she was independent and stubborn.

Ellie tilted her head as she studied the city, a thoughtful expression on her face though Kai's voice soon drew her out of her thoughts. It was the first time he's spoken since Pyra arrived so she was glad to hear it. He seemed more calm now which was reassuring, she didn't think she could handle another Miles incident any time soon. The image of him bleeding out onto the sidewalk was still burned into her mind and she couldn't help but wonder if he had survived, but after a moment she shook the thought away. She smiled at Pyra one last time before she let him pull her along, remaining silent for she wasn't sure how he was feeling. If he was upset with her. It hadn't been her fault, she hadn't wanted to go to the Palace, but maybe he thought otherwise...

Pyra watched them go with a soft smile on her lips before turning and heading back into the Palace. The guards seemed to be watching her with concern though she only offered them a gentle nod of her head as she entered the Palace. Luckily the small crowd seemed to have dispersed, a small portion of stress lifting free from her shoulders. There was still no sign of Crypt, although why she was surprised she had no idea. She rubbed at the back of her neck as she waved over a Rebel she knew didn't hate her, avoiding the young man's eye though she smiled just to be polite. "Malachai, please tell Crypt he doesn't need to mind his promise of seeing me tonight..."though she was sure she wouldn't easily get to sleep tonight, if at all, without him she figured he was too angry with her to want to see her so she would make it easy for him. A small part of her wanted to tell him to tell Crypt that he didn't have to keep his promise of taking her out into the city once she was feeling better either, but she bit her tongue before those words left her lips. That was one promise she was going to hold onto as if life itself depended on it. In silence she watched Malachai dip his strawberry blonde head and move off to find Crypt before she moved, heading towards the stairs so she could lock herself in her room for the night. Finding the Twins was the last thing on her mind now.

Nicholas smiled a little and nodded, not really surprised she agreed. After all, they probably would've sent someone to watch her anyways if she had declined. The twins started after her, walking through the palace quietly. They looked around, finding it rather quiet. They could only assume the situation with Ellie and her pet Nightwalker had been handled. Airic tucked his hands into his pockets casually and cleared his throat, glancing at Lucy from the corner of his eyes. "Um...what are you getting to eat?" he asked, at a vain attempt to start conversation. This was a rather big step for him, he didn't often bother to try and hold a conversation. As always, Nicholas was the more social and personal one. Airic was usually the firm hand, the one that made sure things got done. Nicholas handled the people involved. They made a good team, perhaps that was why Crypt had picked them out. Nicholas walked on one side of her and Airic on the other, both just a step or two behind.

Kai didn't waste another minute getting them far away from the palace, silent until he felt they were far enough away. He slowed his pace a little and gently released her hand, having not fully realized he had been holding it in the first place. He looked almost sheepish and nervous now, quite unlike his usual self. They had made it to the edges of the city, the air silent other than the occasional cry or shrill of laughter. A sound that would send chills down the spine of any normal person. Kai, of course, found these familiar sounds more comforting than anything. He tucked his hands into his pockets and started down the sidewalk, glancing at Ellie. "Are you alright?" he asked "Did they hurt you?" He had a lot of questions but those two were the most important. The others would either wait or be forgotten.

Crypt was in his office, leaning back against his desk. He was reading through a small collection of papers, his brows wrinkled in concentration. The situation with Pyra and the two other vampires still nagged at him but not because he was upset. He was more bothered by the fact she had been there to witness it. She had seen a shred of his darkness and that bothered him the most. Of course, she was a Rebel once so this wasn't uncommon. He handled situations as they needed to be handled...but now that she was someone so incredibly important to him. He wanted to shield her away from that life entirely. It wasn't fair to put that on her, he knew that, but he was worried. Would she really stick by his side knowing that sometimes he had to do things she wouldn't agree with? He sighed and tossed the papers onto the desk, running a hand over his face. He walked towards the office doors, not entirely sure what his plan was from here.

Lucy made her way through the hallways, gripping her purse tightly in her hand so that she wouldn't drop it again. If there was time she would stop and pick up a new after she picked up her food, but the shops were likely closed for the night. It would have to wait til tomorrow, but that was perfectly fine. Although now that she was thinking about it she should buy more than one to avoid a situation like this again. Or maybe she should start wearing pants seeing as those had pockets in them, but she preferred dresses. They were much more comfortable. She bit her lip and refocused, tilting her head when Airic spoke though he sounded just as distant as she was acting. Making it sound as if he's never spoken to her before, at least that's how she was taking his tone. Maybe the awkward feeling from before had been nothing after all, which was good she supposed. "Italian." She replied swiftly, making her way down the staircase and towards the doors. Without waiting for one of the guards to do it she opened it herself and stepped outside into the cool night air; she had always been this stubborn. Even as a child she always tried to open the doors herself, but back then they had been too heavy for her so she had no choice but to let the twins or a Rebel do it. That was different now.

The odd feeling tugged at her again as Kai pulled her away from the Palace, reminding her that it was still there. It didn't like being ignored, but it wasn't a negative feeling like before when Kellan hurt her so she wasn't too concerned. Curious about what it was definitely. She wanted to know what was causing it, but as Kai pulled his hand from hers she found her gaze returning to him, a frown crossing her lips. Was he ashamed to hold her hand now...? It was possible, but she simply brushed it aside as he spoke. "No..."she mumbled. They hadn't hurt her though Ellie was sure they would have if she hadn't complied with the Twins. That Augustine man might have as well, she didn't like the look in his eye at the end there. It was almost like he had been trying to force her hand, she still wasn't sure what it was he wanted though. As for if she was alright she didn't know, she was alive and not locked in a cell somewhere at least.

Malachai approached Crypt's office, figuring that was where he should try first before anything. "Are you in, Sir? I have a message from Miss Pyra." He called out as he knocked on the door lightly, his tone empty of emotion. Although he did feel a sense of concern for the situation it wasn't his place to have an opinion on something so personal like this. The Rebels weren't so blind that they couldn't realize there was something between them, though some were quite unhappy about it. The things he heard on a daily basis although there was nothing alarming, as of yet. He shifted on his feet while he waited, hands clasped lightly behind his back, thinking of anywhere else Crypt may be if he wasn't in his office. There were sounds of footsteps, but that could be from anywhere.

Airic smiled a little "Italian?" he commented curiously and peered up towards the ceiling for a moment, a thoughtful expression on his face. "I've eaten Italian before...back at the orphanage, do you remember that Nicky?" he asked his twin, peering over Lucy. Nicholas glanced back at his brother and smiled "I remember it vaguely, the chef prepared some for all the kids. Quite a night that was..." he mused. For a moment or two as they descended the stairs with Lucy, they discussed the faint memories of their meals at the orphanage. They couldn't remember much, seeing as though they lost a great deal of their memories after they were turned, but there were a few fond human memories that remained. They slowed slightly as Lucy opened the doors, glancing at the guards briefly and dipping their heads. They stepped out into the night and looked around carefully, after all it wasn't safe outside the palace walls. Airic edged a little closer to Lucy, though he hardly noticed that he did.

Kai clenched his hands tightly, feeling his nails dig into his palms. He felt the faint remnants of anger, towards the Rebels of course. "Good..." he said softly and sighed heavily. He reached up to rub the back of his neck and glanced around the city warily as they walked. He guided them back home though he didn't seem to be in any particular rush just yet. He glanced at Ellie for a moment "I was worried...when I woke up," he said carefully "I mean I assumed you had gone out into the city but I just had a bad hunch," he explained. Which was true. He had woken with a gut wrenching feeling, a prickle along his spine. He had gone out into the city to find her just to make sure she was okay, tracking her down after that hadn't been too hard.

Crypt paused at the door, hearing Malachai's words. He bowed his head and combed his fingers through his hair, figuring this wasn't a good message being she hadn't come to him directly. He took a deep breath and opened the door, peering at Malachai closely. "Yes, Malachai?" he asked simply, keeping his tone even. After all, he rarely portrayed any emotion around the Rebels. He wasn't about to start now. His thoughts began to run through the possibilities of what the message could be, but ultimately he came up empty handed. It really could be just about anything.

Lucy fell into silence as they mused about their childhood behind her, scanning the outside of the palace before she moved down the steps and towards the gate. Even from here she could hear the faint sounds of Nightwalkers beginning to wreak havoc in the city, it made her uncomfortable but she wasn't one to back down once she had her mind set on something. A little discomfort wouldn't get in her way and she knew how to handle herself. One wouldn't know it but she always had at least two weapons on her at any given time; a knife strapped to her right thigh and an extendable baton that she carried in her purse. Her parents had started her training young and after they died she continued it so she was confident in her skills. The Twins were here too.. She shook her head and approached the gates cautiously, gazing beyond it to what she could see of the city. Though she couldn't see anyone she knew they were out there waiting for a risk taker such as herself to chance fate. With a faint smirk she waited for the guard to open the gate, waiting until there was just enough space for her to slip through before she was on the other side and making her way towards the city. She definitely couldn't deny that she was a risk taker.

Ellie studied him for a moment before she looked away, shifting the bags in her hands as she scanned their surroundings. Half of her expected to see someone chasing after them to drag her back to the palace, the other was afraid Kellan or that Miles guy would suddenly make an appearance and make her night worse. This had been a very stressful day to say the least, she didn't think she could take more drama. She shook her head, sighing as she listened to Kai. It was sweet that he had worried about her, but she wasn't happy that he risked his life for her. The smell of burnt skin hadn't been lost on her, though he looked fine the scent still lingered in the air around him. He had gone out during the daylight. "It wouldn't be the first time I've been in a situation like that...I would've gotten out of it Kai." Whether unscathed or not she couldn't say, but she refused to be a prisoner again.

Malachai bowed as the office door opened, offering a small greeting before he straightened himself. An almost nervous gleam lingered in his dark eyes but it was easily wiped away as he took a brief moment, as if making sure he had the message right before he dared repeat it. "Ah, Sir, she asked me to tell you that you don't need to mind your promise of seeing her tonight." He said quietly, trying his best to make it clear that she hadn't been angry. She had seemed more sad than anything. He wanted to verbally reassure him, but he didn't think he would appreciate that from him.
