A Thread.

Hello.

I made this account so I can post poetry and other writings without having my regular username attached to it.

This thread may or may not be active. Who cares.

Insectivorous
Ravenous
Creature
Has a bit of a
Fascinating
Feature

His eyes are multi-faceted, his hands are made of clay,
His tongues are made from venison- be careful what they say!
His teeth are dull, his bite is weak, his flesh is paper-thin,
It's just the right consistency for beetles to get in!

It's an aperture,
Amateur!
Don't tell me to explain,
Oil-coated
Camera lens
The screen is on the stain-
Oh, is it me?

Did you get the shot?

Hmm?

My eyes are multi-angled and my hands are bound in rope,
My tongue is on the ceiling now, I'm starting to lose hope!
My teeth are sharp, my bite is strong enough to make a dent,
A microtear in paper that's the perfect sort of vent!

Non-carnivorous
Ravenous
Creature
Changes
In a moment
When you find it a good teacher.

Ah, shit- your head's in the way.

Grinding like a sander's wheel whatever's on your shell-
You pulverise without remorse, but it will grind as well!
Those small abrasions hide so nicely in that sugared treat
As, one by one, they strip your layers right down to the meat.
How cute you look now, standing there with pulp all on display!
I think your mouth looks great now all that bone has worn away!
They used to look so ugly, standing rigid in your curve,
I bet it feels fantastic when you bite down on a nerve!
Or two.
Or thirty-two.

KNUCKLEBONES, KNUCKLEBONES
WHO ELSE WANTS TO PLAY?
I FOUND A BAG OF PIECES AT THE DENTIST'S YESTERDAY!
I LOST MINE, I LOST MINE,
CAN I USE YOURS INSTEAD?
I SEE YOU'VE GOT A GOOD SUPPLY JUST ROTTING IN YOUR HEAD!

Last night, it was,
Though it's hard to remember.
(You don't quite have the cognitive prowess when dead)
I sold my soul
To the man in the mirror,
But she told me she won't let me out of my head.
And even now,
As I bleed in the floodlight,
And the audience sharpens their critical eye,
"Two out of Five:
A return to the classics,
Though pretentious in ways that are hard to deny."

I love this!

I do think you are too hard on yourself, though, dear. We are always our own worst critics, and if you look to your friends, you may find approval more reflective of your work's true quality.
