Fragmented Heart

There once was an Egyptian-like world that was both advanced in technology and steadfast in their own traditions. Leading this world was the royal family, The Emperor and Empress. The royal line was marked by a sign of the gods. A Turquoise eye. It isn't by birth order that the successor is chosen. No, it is whichever child has The Eye. The Eye possesses fabled abilities. Beyond glowing lightly in the dark, it allows vision in the dark - and is said to be capable of seeing through illusions as well as carry the wisdom and strength of the ancestors.

Selket, the Princess, was fated to wed the Empire's greatest warrior, who would be chosen in a tournament. She already had her eye set on one of the warriors, but he ended up losing - though only slightly. She was upset, but there was nothing that could be done. The winner was at least already a friend.

One day, unknown ships arrived. They invaded, killing whoever were useless to them, and capturing those they deemed useful. The warriors defended their people as best as they could, giving people time to get to their own ships to evacuate the planet. Unfortunately, most of the population was either slaughtered or captured, with very few people making it onto the ships.

Selket didn't want to leave. She wanted to stay and help fight, but she knew she couldn't stay. Her husband, and her love went off to fight, and she attempted to assist in the evacuation with her parents. Her parents were shot down on the way to the ships, and her love and Husband arrived before she would be next. They made sure she escaped, but that was the last time she would ever see of either of them.

Her husband was killed protecting the ships, but the leader of the invading force had taken notice of his prowess, and took his body with them when they left the planet. Using a mixture of technology and magic, he was revived, but any memories of who he had were gone. He was now a loyal soldier of the one responsible for the destruction of his planet.

The ship she escaped on had been sabotaged, malfunctioning and leaving it dead in the water and being shot by the invaders. The ship crashed on an inhospitable planet, where she and survivors remain until she is found.

But all that remained were fragments-

A dead world,

A scattered people,

An Empress trying to pick up the shattered pieces of her life and people and survive,

And a once loyal Nakhti warrior forced to do his captor's bidding and the Nakhti scout who is his only hope.

He was sent out with a group of other soldiers to a planet that was believed to be where the Nakhti Empress was hiding out after the attack on the homeworld. They weren't told why they were even interested in the Empress, but it didn't take much for the Nakhti soldiers to suspect it might have something to do with the Eye and its connection to the gods. Whatever the intent was, it wasn't good, but they had no choice but to do what they were told. It was almost like a strong compulsion that they had absolutely no control over, no matter how hard they tried to fight it. As of now, the site they were sent to seemed to be empty, though there were signs that someone was living in the abandoned city.

Mustafa Srikanth continued his investigation of the immediate area, that he and his mean were at, in order to see if he could find any clues as to what would be the best direction to search for their target. But he wasn't having much luck of it at the moment. He stood up with a sigh and looked at his men who were investigating on the parimiter for any signs that they could locate as well. He then made a shrill wistle and said "Gather up men." a moment laterhe was surrounded by the other soldiers and then he began to give out orders.

"Obviously there's nothing here to tell us which way our target went so we're going to be splitting up. Keep your comms on and if you run into trouble or find our target then let me know immediately. Report in as you finish clearing each sector that you go through. Remember our orders. We're to bring in whoever we find here, alive. Even if it's not Selket. Use of force is permitted if you face resistance from the target. Now everyone move out on the double." He then waited for the others to leave before he took the final direction available.

He had been searching for a while and had finally started to notice signs that someone or something had passed through the area recently. So he raised his rifle and continued along the path as he kept his eye out for any sudden movements around him. It wasn't long before he spotted what appeared to be another person but he couldn't get a clear enough look at them to be sure. He zoned his weapon in on the person and then he fired a warning shot next to them and said "Come out with your hands up and reveal yourself. Toss aside any weapons you have or I will be forced to incapacitate you. You're now my prisoner."
