TMW I was reading through Dutch grammar rules (this particular one was forming plurals), and I got caught off-guard by something stupid. I already know Dutch has some crazy vowel combinations, but I got caught off-guard by just seeing three e's in a row. And one of them has a trema on it, for goodness sake. The example was het idee (the idea) into het ideeën (the ideas). Seeing that should not have caught me as off-guard as it did, lol.
