A New Bond (bxnezxne)

Post by Arkane » Mon Nov 11, 2019 5:38 am

The dreams came first. Where once her dreams were made of a void of nothing, now they were full and bursting with images and sounds of the new world that had evolved around her. She had been asleep for so long and now the smells of the forest tickled her nose, the sound of water dripping on stone echoed in her ears. Memories of her last moments awake started to appear, Jael remembering the exact moment she had closed her eyes.

If memory served, she was high in the mountains in one of her family’s villas, the large stone house extravagant for its time; secluded and away from the rest of the world. It was also seldom used by her family, or anyone really. It was a place Jael often escaped too when she wanted to be alone. However, things were different now that time had taken its toll on the building.

It had become decrepit and run down. One side of the stone wall had collapsed in on itself, forming a sort of sink hole that started from the rooftops and dipped into the basement. Copious amounts of flora had overgrown in the place, moss and ivy lining almost every inch of the stone. It had rained the previous day and now the moisture from the water lingered in the air, the sound of a persistent water drop rhythmic against her tomb’s lid.

Jael currently slept in a stone tomb nestled safely in the darkest depths of the villa. Well, it was at one point. Now her slumber area was open to the outside world, several wild animals had even ventured in and out of the newly renovated addition to the home. Perhaps that is also why she began to stir, that and the hunger. Jael was so thirsty. And the thirst only grew more ravenous the more her body returned from hibernation.

Her fingers twitched, the first signs of movements in decades.

The day was one of those where it was bound to rain, as Evé could smell the weather changing before it actually did. She couldn’t stand to stay all cooped up in the small village that her pack had made over the years, especially after she had been rejected when she tried to join the pack on another outing into the vast amount of woods. This was the last time for her, she just couldn’t handle staying in the village doing the same tasks day in and day out!

It was a few short hours after the others had left the village before she began to pack a few things into a sack that she wore cross body, making sure she didn’t take too much as she didn’t want for it to be easy to track her down. All she took were a few days supply of meat that was dried out to make it easy to store, and a small dagger for her own protection as she couldn’t count on shifting since she always struggled with keeping her mind when she did so. Finally with her bag situated with what she was going to need, she only wore a light shirt and pants that she could move in as she planned to spend the next hour just running to get somewhere she could explore and see the world for herself rather than listening to what the elders in the pack and others her age said about life outside the village. With everything she though she would need for a few days out in the world, she was off.

Evé started running south from the village, excitement filling her as she ran through the trees and took in her surroundings. The colors is what truly got her going as it was different to see everything so new, a smile playing on her lips as she couldn’t wait to find somewhere to explore. She didn’t stop until she picked up a foreign scent, something she had never smelled before in her entire life, causing her to stop her running as her gaze looked up a mountain that wasn’t exactly that large. Without really even thinking of what the dangers could be, she began to move up the mountain to find out what she was smelling.

Once she was almost at the top, she found a small stone shaped building, which she though was weird as most homes were built from some type of wood nowadays. Her curiosity obviously took over her as she entered in a side that had clearly eroded over time, not even being as careful as she should have as her attention was taken to a bunch of old looking artifacts, things she’s never seen outside the village.

“Woah..” Her voice was soft as she spoke out the word, sniffing around various things after she set her back down near where she entered the place, unknowing of the other ‘person’ that was in the same building as she didn’t catch up on a scent of another person, most likely due to the time that the other had been there.

//Hope this is long enough! I can make it longer if you would like.

Eve may not have been aware of Jael, but Jael was definitely aware of her. It wasn’t the other females scent that caught her interest...it was the sound of her beating heart. So thunderous and full of life, the rhythmic beating loud in her ears as she listened to the coursing blood pumping in the other’s veins. That’s what Jael needed in order to fully awaken. She craved it. Blood.

In a sudden and abrupt manner, the heavy stone of her tomb shot up into the air, Jael a mere blur as she sped out of it, instinctively avoiding the patches of sun’s rays. She couldn’t think of anything else but the offering of blood that was right at her fingertips. And she took the gift that was presented to her, with a ferocious and insatiable need. Grabbing Eve’s head, she arched her head back to expose her neck, Jael sinking her sharp fangs into Eve’s flesh.

Jael drank deeply, needing the blood to resuscitate her withered corpse. The coppery taste of crimson liquid filled her mouth, Jael’s conscious finally emerging as the blood lust began to recede. Yet before she could drink her fill, her eyes widened as a sudden and horrendous pain erupted from the pit of her stomach. Jael let Eve go, the vampire sinking back into the shadows, her hand clasped over her stomach.

Lycan blood. The blood of a werewolf was almost poisonous to a vampire and could make one very sick. Already Jael could feel her stomach clench, the woman standing in a darkened corner, one hand against the stone wall, as she expelled the blood from her stomach in a single hurl. This wasn’t good. Her intent was to only consume enough blood to sustain herself, not to kill her prey. But now the tables have turned and Jael found the hunter had become the hunted. A mildly blood drained werewolf versus a weak and recently awakened vampire? The odds weren’t good.

“Bold of you to walk into the sleeping place of a vampire,” she said, her voice raspy. Jale was hiding in a corner of darkness, her eyes a bright red, her body slowly regenerating itself from a withered corpse, to normal flesh. It seemed Eve’s blood was still mildly useful to her, aside from making her feel like utter shit. She needed her weapons, which were inconveniently in her tomb, right behind the werewolf that blocked her path.

Evé has let out a small gasp followed by a brief shout as she was startled by the tomb shooting open, but not as surprised when she was suddenly grabbed and felt something bite her neck. She didn’t have time to react and grab onto the other before they had moved away from her, allowing her to clasp a hand on her neck as she still help a startled and scared expression of the other female in the stone room.

Sure she had heard of vampires and such, and knew that they were technically the sworn enemies to werewolves, but she had never really seen or met one before as Evé had pretty much been sheltered most of her life by being kept within the village. Without thinking much the girl began to back up, unfortunately stumbling over a few things as her gaze towards the other was mixed between fear and curiosity.

“I-I didn’t know..!” The poor girl seemed to stutter out as she moved her hand from her neck as the puncture wounds had seemed to already have healed themselves over, her gaze moving from Jael to look away as she wanted to see where she had put her bag at, seeing it still at the entrance before she looked back over towards the other, contemplating if she should really go for it as she wasn’t exactly away what the other could do.

“Don’t move...” Evé spoke as she kept her eyes on the other as she shuffled off towards the side, wanting to grab her bag and just take off running. After just a few small steps she reached her hand towards her bag, her eyes staying on the other in the room, seemingly appearing to most likely be trying to get a weapon. She did stumble lightly as the mild blood drain caused her to feel slightly dizzy, but tried her best to hide that and ended up failing as she did trip over her feet.

How peculiar this werewolf was. Did Eve not realize that she had the upper hand in this predicament? Jael was confined to the small portion of darkness the ruined basement provided and she was also incredibly weak from just waking up from a decades long nap. If this werewolf pup decided to transform and attack her, there would be nothing that her weaponless self could do, no matter how pure blooded she was. Yet, Eve looked more terrified than her, Jael watching with narrowed eyes as the other girl began to back away as if to escape...

...as if vampires and werewolves were not immortal enemies.

“Aren’t you a werewolf? And you’re not going to attack me?,” Jael asked, stepping out of the darkness into a lighter portion of the room, revealing herself. Jael appeared pale, her tall and toned body obvious under her outdated clothes. She also looked malnourished and tired, with bags under her now cooled, ice blue eyes. She desperately needed to feed. Upon first glance, many mistook Jael to be a young man, but such as not the case. And if one looked more closely, they would see her unique beauty.

Finding herself relaxing a little, she stood her full height, her eyes always watching the other female.

“What year is it,” she asked, wondering if the other would reply. Jael did not despise werewolves. Once, in the beginning of her undead life, she did..but now, things were different.

The girl never let her eyes move off of Jael until she managed to grab onto her bag, lifting it up and holding it close to her chest as she listened carefully to what words left the other’s mouth. Attack her? That would just be crazy, as Eve knew she wasn’t exactly a fighter.

“I’ve.. I’ve never been outside the village or away from the pack.. I don’t exactly know how.. dangerous you guys are.” Eve felt embarrassed that she wasn’t exactly coming off as how most of her kind do, teaching a hand up to open her bag and check to make sure that everything was still inside of it. When she noticed the other take a step closer she didn’t take a step back, but her eyes did widen a little bit as she saw how the other looked like. Did all vampires look so... bad? The other female looked so skinny, like she hadn’t ate for ages, which she most likely hadn’t.

“Are you hungry..?” She heard the question about what year it was a tilted her head slightly before speaking again. “What year do you think it is?” Eve seemed to be a little too comfortable to be having a chat with a vampire, a sworn enemy to her kind, but it may just be that since she wasn’t exposed to much violence involving the other’s kind that she doesn’t exactly have a bad image on Jael and her kind, at least not yet.

My, what an odd little werewolf. One that was naive to the true nature of their species’ history and the bloodshed they were both capable of. Jael was very surprised, indeed. But this was a blessing. She had a feeling that this werewolf would not attack her. She was definitely not like any normal werewolf and luckily for Eve, neither was Jael a normal vampire. If Jael had been a younger, more fresh vampire, there would likely be a different story to tell. Jael didn’t believe in unnecessary violence or death....not anymore.

“I am famished,” Jael replied, simply. The tall female cautiously walked towards her tomb, making sure to avoid the random shafts of sunlight that were filtering though the crumbling upper level foundation. She also didn’t want to startle the young pup and made it rather obvious that she would not be hostile. “When I last went to sleep,” Jael replied. “It was the year 1066, though I doubt that is the case now.”

Once at her tomb, she found her black and red lined, short sleeved cloak, which she quickly put on over her simple cotton shirt and dark pants. She also donned her black leather bracers and did them up along her forearms, the light armour matching her knee high boots. Last in her tomb was her weapons. Two, exquisitely sheathed twin sabres, which Jael strapped across her back with a leather holster. Of course, she had at least two hidden daggers in her boots as well, both silver.

“The first lesson about vampires, is that we require blood to sustain ourselves,” she said, conversationally. “And your werewolf blood was rather disgusting,” she grinned, leaning against the tomb now. “Apologies for biting you. Once in a bloodlust, us vampires will eat anything that presents itself and you just so happened to stumble upon my resting place.” Jael couldn’t leave this place until sunset. No matter how powerful of a vampire she was, they were always prisoner to the sun.

Eve watched as Jael had move back to where her tomb was to put a cloak on herself, cautiously smelling the air to see if she could smell any potential dangers, which she couldn’t. “Do all werewolves taste bad?” She asked as now she was a little curious. Before the other even had a chance to speak, she seemed to snap her head towards the wall that she came in through, it being clear that she heard something.

“They’re coming..?” The girl spoke in a soft voice as she held her hand up to the vampire to tell her to be quiet as she moved towards the door to look out of it, frowning slightly. “S-So.. My pack is following my scent..” She seemed cautious to say it as she didn’t want to freak the other out, but decided to just offer a small smile before she quickly exited the building, still showing now sign of shifting as she did so.

It may of seemed now that the vampire wouldn’t see the other again, but that notion was changed after a few hours of her being gone had passed, right as the sun was going down.

Eve returned and looked around the building once more, reeking of blood, knowing that if the other was still in the building she would be able to smell it. She no longer had her bag with her either, just a small dagger that was strapped around her waist.

“Hey.. Are you still here?

“Most likely,” she replied, casually. Jael didn’t make a habit of drinking from werewolves, for obvious reasons. Did this werewolf really not know about their species history? How naive was she? Before she could say anything else, Jael stiffened after Eve mentioned her pack was currently tracking her. Her brow furrowed in anger, fully aware that if the pack found her, she’d most like be dead.

Much to her surprise, Eve had motioned for her to be quiet, before offering her a smile and disappearing into the thick forest, leaving Jael alone in her prison. For a while she waited there, pacing back and forth, her footsteps nary making a sound, a sabre in her hand as she watched the entrance. She half expected to be attacked, but when no attack came, Jael could finally relax.

A few hours had passed and soon the sun had set, finally allowing Jael to venture out of the suffocating space. Her hunger needed to be satiated and she immediately before hunting wild animals for their blood. It was easy enough to find several large prey. She was a vampire after all, a true hunter of the night. And while animal blood didn’t taste nor was as invigorating as human blood, it was more than enough to sustain her.

After draining her fill of blood, Jael returned to her formal self in all her glory. Her face was fuller, the dark circles under her eyes disappearing entirely. Her complexion was smooth and flawless, as if she was carved from porcelain. Her eyes were bright and full of life, her lips slightly tinted red after her various meals. Now she was strong enough to leave this mountain....but where would she go? As of right now, Jael didn’t know who was in charge of the vampire hierarchy. Could be bad.

And so, she found herself hanging around the shambles of her old mountain villa, the vampire sitting on top of a stone spire, her silhouette a sharp against the large moon. Her hands busied themselves with sharpening one of her swords on a whetstone, while her keep hearing picked up the sounds of someone venturing through the woods.

She was very aware that Eve had returned, the vampire having sensed her presence. “If I were any other vampire, you’d be dead by now.” Jael said, warning the young werewolf. “Vampires usually kill a werewolf on the spot. What are you doing here?,” she asked, standing up to her full height.

Eve seemed a little bit more on edge now that she was around the vampire for a second time, her eyes seemingly looking around the little building before they settled on the vampire once more.

She has just been technically disowned by her back, as they could smell the vampire’s scent on her. They told her that she would be unable to return unless she came with the head of the one that drank from her. The only problem being, she didn’t want to harm anyone.

“I’m not like most of the other werewolves, I’m nice to have around.” Her voice was a little shaky but held confidence as she spoke, offering Jael a smile as she held her hands up. She did move back slightly when she saw the other standing at her full height.

“I just sort of need somewhere to stay..?” It was made as a statement, but held a questionable tone as it seemed like the girl was asking to be able to live with the other, even with them being enemies by species. “I can make myself useful to you..”
