The Assassin’s Mute Servant (Random Accel)

Post by Winter » Sun May 13, 2018 11:51 pm

The boat creaked and rocked with the deep ocean waves that knocked against it as it started to sink. The dead of night with the stars shining bright lit the churning ocean surfaces filled with a mostly sunk boat and other outlying debris. Only two sole survivors struggling for life on wood and other debris praying for survival till the next sunrise.

An hour prior the Duchess Amaria lay in her bed sound asleep in the dead of night in the precious royal boat carrying her to a new land to meet her husband the duke who waited in the new conquered land. The captain lay awake studying new chartered maps he would be voyaging on after the duchess was safely delivered. Isabella (muse A) the servant cried softly in her cot the growing storm frightened her to no end and scared her. Reminding her of a traumatic experience that took her worth, her voice. Permanently of low class unless a miracle occurred. (Muse B) a trained assassin lay in wait, his only mission, to kill the duchess and escape on a lifeboat in the dead of night. The storm worried him, fearing it would wake the sleeping duchess.

The storm became treacherous and before an Attack could even be made the hulk of the ship was damaged to the point it broke. Isabella had gone up to hurl the vomit in her stomach, the assassin had gone to deck to escape anyways. Both were swept off the boat from a crashing wave that split the deck. The entire crew and duchess were asleep and left to suffer. Isabella clung to a large chunk of the broken hull. She assassin, or yet the pretend crew at was nowhere in sight as unconsciousness swept over her.

Isabella awoke to blistering pain in her side from a cut she was given from the wool and nails, dried salt in her face and hair and the sun bright and even in the sky. She was alone in a new place, or rather an inhabited island in the Caribbean. Lost and terrified the mute servant weakly stood and searched for anything. Praying for a sign of hope.

Haze ran up to the deck of the sinking ship, knowing that if the ship sank, the sea would kill the dutchess for him. All he had to do was escape; even if the ship hadn't sunk, Haze would have had to leave the ship after killing the dutchess, so unlike Isabella, he escaped with relative ease. Fitting himself into an empty barrel for rum, Haze rolled off the ship into the ocean...

Sadly, not even Haze was able to take the weather into account. Instead of landing in the nearest harbor, the barrel drifted to a deserted island, the same one that Isabella lay unconscious on. Right as he was about to do anything, the servant started to regain consciousness, and Haze's instincts caused him to hide. 'A servant from the ship' Haze thought to himself. 'It will be disastrous if this servant goes around blabbering about who was on the ship.' Not knowing that the servant was in fact unable to speak at all, Haze sneaked up to the lady and put a dagger to her throat. "Move a finger and you die. Understand?"

Haze could kill Isabella this instant, but lowly servants rarely knew much about the trips anyway, and he could use what Isabella knows about this trip, to try and escape this island. with the hand that did not hold the dagger, Haze ripped off the bottom half of Isabella's shirt, exposing her belly, and the injuries on her sides. Using the strip to tie Isabella's hands behind her back, he began, "Let's get this over with. Answer me truthfully, and you will not have a dagger sticking in your throat. What do you know about the trip?" Little did he know that he was asking the impossible to this servant. "Speak, before I kill you. How did you leave the ship?"

Isabella coughed remaining sea water out of her lungs groaning silently with true stiff muscles and cuts all over her body. Wondering where she was she weakly looked about and closed her eyes. She had fallen back asleep. Waking up for the second time she froze with a cool blade pressed against her throat and a man standing over her ready to kill her. Fear was in her eyes as she lay unmoving listening to his words with Earnest. Nodding with her command not to move.

She gasped as cloth was ripped from her already work and torn shirt. She felt exposed and tears filled her eyes as she was bound now. He began asking her questions and Isabella’s fright only worsened. She couldn’t speak! Her mouth opened and words filled her tongue but her voice was simply gone. Her first instinct was to point at her mouth but being bound meant she couldn’t show him her problem. She began to cry she didn’t want to die like this. Cut and slaughtered like a pig only because she couldn’t speak. Mouthing the word ‘please’ and ‘can’t speak’ praying she would live.

At first, Haze was unfazed by the tears from Isabella, as many of his targets cried before their final moments. However, when the girl desparately tried to mouth words, he knew something was amiss. "You can't speak."

He came to the realization, but soon recalled that she nodded when he first threatened her. "I will make this easy for you." Letting go of Isabella, he leaped back wards, dagger still in his hand. " Did you know the destination of the ship, yes or no?" Haze had decided that he no longer had a reason to kill the servant, as she was unable to speak to begin with. Of course, she was with the dutchess most likely, but if she couldn't tell the Royals what happened to the dutchess, Haze couldn't care less what happened to her.

Isabella cried as she lay there and closed her eyes relieved he had not killed her. Someone in one way or another he must have realized her position. Looking up at him she listened intently to his next question. Still very fearful for her life she knew she needed to answer truthfully.

Isabella shook her head no. She knew the country they had been sailing to but she knew nothing of the port or city. It was a large large land mass and it was the newest exploration destination. Anyone who had been on the ship knew they were sailing towards the continent. But Isabella was never told exactly where. Just that if she ended up not being needed she’d be sent back to the mainland and sold as a maid servant.

Whimpering she closed her eyes again, not wanting to face the intimidating made who could still very easily and swiftly kill her in an instant. She just wanted to be alone still feeling very exposed with her now bare yet fair stomach. She was of good size and proportions.

Haze's expressions darkened as he realized that this servant was of no use. He had no reason to kill this woman, but how was he supposed to ensure that she would not pay revenge while Haze let his guard down? However, killing her was not an option either unless absolutely needed. A lot of wild animals lived in these deserted islands, and provoking them with the scent of blood would not be good for Haze. Deciding that is would be best for him to keep her next to him, and make sure she doesn't do anything amiss, Haze growled at Isabella. "I can leave right now, and let the bears eat you, or you can follow me, and swear that you will do as I say, until I find a way to leave this island. Nod if you swear."

It was only then that Isabella's injury caught his eye. "Can you walk?" Haze seemed to have softened, but only ever so slightly. People did not change that fast, and Haze was trained to show or feel no emotions.

Isabella bit her lower lip as she lay under him stil very scared of him. Did she give the wrong response? She just wanted to stay alive. She winced as sometimes his leg would lean into a massive bruise on her torso. Looking up st him she listened to what he had to say next. Swear to do anything he says? She was used to serving people but she didn’t like the idea of serving him. Or at least that’s how she interpreted his statement. She nodded swearing she’d listen and be next to him.

Groaning as her wounds started to hurt more shebnidded to him with his next question believing she could walk. She honestly didn’t know for sure if she could she hadn’t gotten up at all since she woke up. Though she knew she would have a hard time even getting up with her hands kind behind her. Therefore no arm support. Looking up at him she shrugged a nes response. Mouthing ‘I don’t know.’ But not carelessly she honestly didn’t know.

Haze finally untied Isabella's hands, deciding he had enough. There was not much Isabella can do on a deserted island anyway, at least Haze thought that way. The assasin quickly scanned her body with his eyes from top to bottom, assessing for wounds. Scratches and bleeding were everywhere, but the big wounds were the gash on her right side, near her stomach, and unnoticeable by Isabella from her position lying down, her right leg was twisted and bent in the wrong direction, swollen up in a shade of purple. "Don't move while I tend to your wounds. It may hurt a bit. If you become a huge burden I will leave without you."

Deep down inside, Haze just didn't want to de alone in this deserted island. Not that he would ever admit it. Ignoring the soundless screams Isabella might make, he skillfully twisted and bent Isabella's right leg back in place, fitting her bones together as well. Grabbing a piece of the very plank Isabella was grabbing when she almost drowned, he put the plank under her leg to make sure the bones stayed in place while it mended, and used the cloth that tied her arms earlier to tie her right leg to the plank, in an airtight fashion. Next was the gash on her side. Haze used the drops of remaining alcohol in the rum barrel he was in to clean the wound, then took out one of his poisonous needles. washing the poison away in salt water, her took a strand of string from where he ripped off Isabella's shirt, and sewed the wound shut. Haze was very used to near death injuries, and had survived all of them. "It will take some time for your leg to heal, and I recommend you not to use your right leg if you want it to heal properly."

in this era the idea to let a patient walk using two triangular walking support sticks did not exist; and even if it did, it wouldn't work to well on sand. Instead, Haze cut off the top half of the rum barrel, and moved Isabella to sit in the bottom half. "I will soon find enough materials to attach wheels and a rope to the barrel. Just don't try anything stupid."

It wouldn't be impossible for Isabella to just ignore the pain and walk, but if she did, the bones would heal while in the wrong position, and she would most likely end up limping when she walks, and in the world where people went to temples when they were sick and not hospitals, she might not be able to fix it.

Isabella watched him wearily and sighed as he undid her bound and she immediately gripped her wrists and rubbed them as a second natuarebto being tied. She hadn’t even begun to notice the throbbing pain in her side and leg due to the excitement, nerves, shock and almost being killed a second time. She was terrified of this stranger and bit her lip and looked away as he added her body. Call it insecurity and shyness. She didn’t want to watch him. She nodded and closed her eyes listening to his words and bit her lip again.

Nodding in understanding she prayed and tense up and bit her lip till it bled as he set her leg back in place. It was a huge relief but the pain was unbearable and still badly needed to heal. Crying in this pain and wincing as her tended to her torso. It was unbearable. Her leg and her side, the alcohol used for cleaning but still burned. She painted and screamed wanting it all to stop. For the pain to disappear. ‘Please’ she mouthed and begged in a silent voice.

With no way to ignore her her inner consciousness was drifting off. Her body shutting down to block out the pain. Her eyes grew dreary and dazed. She stopped screaming and crying as her body went into a stage of complete shock. Her eyes began to slowly roll back into her head as she began to fall unconscious. Never in her life had she imagined being in this position. Just a servant girl with no big decision to make or death defying experiences. Just average.

Haze looked at the Servant go into a stage of shock, but there was not much he could do. The wounds had to be tended to if she didn't want an infection, and it was not like he carried medication to make her feel less pain, in a deserted island, having just escaped from a sinking ship. He was an assasin, not a doctor. Knowing that if Isabella fell unconscious, she could die of shock, Haze slapped her awake. "Don't fall asleep on me."

Haze was ready to give up if the girl had no urge to stay alive, but if she was desparate to live, she might just turn out to be alright in the long run.
