Xavier and the MPs take the dolls through the armory's other entrance, ending up on the main walkways of the ship and after a short walk and another elevator ride; they eventually get to the Mississippi's War Room, which is on a level directly below the main bridge. Entering the room proper, Xavier gestures for the AR Team to take their seats on the conference table while he gets in touch with the Captain.
"I brought them to the war room."
M4, Sop, and M16 take their seats on one end of the table whereas STAR chooses to remain standing. M16 initially puts her feet up on the table, but is quick to stop when the shilo-haired marksman shoots her a death glare
Eventually the man of the hour shows up: Captain Drew Jackson. Swaggering through the doors like he owned the place, which he did; the grizzled captain takes a good long look at the assembled AR team before he noncommittally shrugs his shoulders and takes his seat on the far end of the conference table. Taking out a stick of chewing tobacco from his his coat pocket, Jackson takes a large bite out of it as he begins to speak to his Pathfinders.
"Now, the proper procedure would be to formally welcome you bunch to the Mississippi. But since we've all got things to do and places to be, I'll get to the nitty gritty: The mission you were contracted for is going to be the fight of your lives and I won't be surprised if none of you manage to make it back here. I'm not exactly sure how much you're told when you were picked to be our contingent, but know that it's nothing like what the cartoons and talking heads say. The dinos are brutal, as merciless as they are cunning and if that wasn't bad enough, they possess many technologies beyond our current capabilities and in some areas, outdo even ADVENT. Doesn't help they can just churn out giant technoorganic constructs at a whim called Mechasaurses that can casually destroy entire cities singlehandedly if left unchecked. Hell, the've got standard-issue jet packs and ray guns for infantry christ's sake, not even ADVENT can arm every one of their test-tube troopers with them and that's without considering the fact that dinos are on average much stronger and tougher than humans."
Jackson pauses as he spits out the spent tobacco, the hock of spit and chewed up leaf perfectly hitting a spitoon on the corner of the war room he was closest to.
"I know I'm sounding like one of those loonies who wear boards on their chests that say "The end is nigh", but I want you gals to know just the sort of enemy you'll have to face, what we all faced."
Xavier and the other MPs all stare at the AR team to really drive the point home.
"You saw the damage all over the my ship right? The dinos did that and they weren't even a goddamn invasion force but a strike team sent in solely to turn the Mississippi into a wreck. Scaly bastards would've done it too if it wasn't for our pilots and the outworlders who came along with the Purgatory. Yes, the pilots of those mechs that're way not standard issue."
