Isabella slept somewhat sojndly in his arms thkuhhtbthe chilly night. Only to wake hours later with a full rest her hair covering part of her face and lips parted slightly as she eyes slowly opened to the morning sun. She couldn’t feel the stranger behind her and assumed he was out. She took that time to stretch as much as she physically could and relax. Then turning over onto her stomach and using her weak arms to pull her body to the front of the makeshift hut since she couldn’t use her leg, since it was healing it was basically dead weight.

Making it to the door frame she peeked out and saw him smashing some grass into what seemed to be a pulp. She couldn’t not help but smirk since he was doing it wrong. If you want an herbal pulp anointment you have to chew or grind the leaves in your mouth to get the saliva and moisture to hold it together. The salt water from the sea would only damage the herbs. But she couldn’t tell him that. She smiled a weak smile and killed Gerald four more to watch. Wondering if there was anything she could do.

It took Haze a great deal more mashing, some inspection, and nervously jumping up and down before he realized he was doing something wrong with the herbs. The pulp didn't look like what he heard, but he had no idea what was wrong. He returned to the hut, uncharacteristically looking like a sad puppy.

Realizing that Isabella was awake, Haze started drawing lines on the sand, that somewhat resembled letters but was illegible. "I can't remember clearly... can you make anything out?" Through a series of illegible scribbles, something legible finally stood out. <&÷£×^!×£+& Diamonds ÷&÷:÷*!,×&>

"Also, your shirt is a rag. you can keep my shirt, we will use yours as a flag. Scribble some kind of rescue message so that if a ship passes by they will see the flag even if we are out getting food." Speaking of food, Haze noticed that Isabella probably needed to eat. "Do you cook at all? We can have a fire on tonight, because we will find a better place to sleep first thing tomorrow."

Checking Isabella's legs sticking out from below his shirt, Haze found that the bruises were starting to subside a bit. "That thing will at least take a month to heal, but you may be able to walk a bit with support by the end of the week if you don't try anything radical." Haze needed Isabella in order to escape; what he will do next he can think after. And although Isabella could not walk yet, if she was able to do housework, Haze could find some sort of a use for her. At least once they build something better than this hut that is.

Isabella watched him intently and let out a silent chuckle. He did look in a weird way adorable when he realized he messed up and he looked like a little sad puppy. She was so sad for him but she couldn’t help but find it a little funny. Later she’d show him how to correctly bring herbs into a clean pulp. She looked up at him and gave him a smile hoping to cheer him up.

She nodded and listened to his statement and looked down at what he had written. It looked so foreign the only work recognized is diamonds so she pointed st that one and nodded. She sighed when he said her shirt was a rag and then looked at him confused when he said to keep his shirt. She quickly shook her head no. She couldn’t take it from him when he needed it too. Mostly for warmth at night then protection from the sun during the day. Nodding again though when they needed to make a sign.

Groaning as she moved herself weakly towards him so that she was sitting next to him. She nodded again showing she understood his sayings and that she needed to heal meaning she needed stay off her legs. She though frowned with the fact she’d still be mostly helpless. She let herself zone out as she thought of what to do. Maybe instead of taking his whole shirt she can just use the sleeves and make a tight top that covered what needed to be covered. That way she’d be covered there and he would have some sort of a shirt. Deciding she would do this later in the day if he were to ever leave to she would have some privacy.

Haze looked at Isabella when she pointed to the word diamonds. "You understand the word. What does it mean?" It was then when he realized that the two didn't have a clear communication method. What would be something non verbal, that he could understand? The answer was not that hard. "Draw it on the sand."

Haze also had to go catch food, but there was no way in the world he would leave Isabella to herself until he fully trusted her. First he thought of fishing, but he didn't have a rod, and he didn't want to get wet. Next was hunting, but he couldn't leave this place. But what if the creatures came to him? Deciding to light a fire, Haze started to set up branches, and rub stones together.

Isabella nodded again meaning she understood. At first she was as confused with the fact she needed to draw it but complied. She sighed and used her finger in the sand doing a rough drawing of a 2D diamond. She forbade at her drawing and laid down bed to it her hair laying spread it around her like a halo. Her eyes were closed as she soaked in the sunlight.

Laying down she let her mind get lost in thought. Her mind wandered to the stranger. She still didn’t know his name. Moaning in pain she turned on her side and wrote her name in the sand. Maybe he’d understand. Solentlyndhe turned back over and closed her eyes again.

"...A diamond." He then looked at the scribble next to it, which was Isabella's name, but he had no way of knowing. she wrote one word, knowing he can't read. what would it mean? There was nothing here she would want to write... and diamond was not written that way, when Isabella pointed to the letters ealier. Then what was it?

"What is this?" Haze looked at Isabella, maybe if she mouthed the words he might be able to make it out. If it was a sentence it would be very hard, but it was one word. He realized that he didn't know a thing yet about this servant, and couldn't deduce anything without her telling him.

Isabella turned back over a the sound of his voice saying diamond and looked at him. ‘How come every time I see him I find him attractive?’ She questioned herself and looked down to what he wa struggling with, her name. She pointed at it to know she was assuming right and then pointed at herself. She mouthed her name emphasizing the syllables with the shape of her mouth. Then pointing at him and mouthing for his name. Touching his chest with the of her finger her eyes full of curiosity and gentleness.

She didn’t want to give up she knew he couldn’t read but he should know the basic pronounciation of things. The vowels and what not he’s a grown man. But she didn’t judge she had only learned it because of her position most women didn’t expect the royal ones.

"Sa...el...a. Isa...ella. Bell...Isabella." It took Haze a couple of tries, but he eventually got her name. He was puzzled that Isabella was putting a hand on his chest, trying to teach him her name. Everyone hated him until now, and no one tried to teach him anything. All his relationships were business and money related. "My name is Haze." So just what was this tickling feeling in his heart?

"The ship." Haze suddenly told Isabella. "I was on it to do a mission." He wouldn't let Isabella tell anyone, so it wouldn't hurt to let her know some of his secrets, he persuaded himself. "I don't think the ship ever intended to arrive at its destination. The captain crashed the ship on purpose."

Isabella smilied wider than she has ever had before. She taught someone her name. It took him a little bit but he got it and it made her so happy. Very few knew her name, no one had bothered since she was mute. She then smiled more when Haze finally understood her poking and prodding and spoke his name aloud. Haze. She liked the name it suited him. She had never heard it before.

She closed her eyes and smiled to herself but then her jaw slackened and she looked at haze with astonishment and worry. She hardly heard his first part her main concern was the captains plan. She assumed the storm was the reason alone for the death of the duchess and everyone else on board. If she hadn’t gone up ... she wouldn’t be here. Tears immediately filled her eyes. She looked down in embarrassment to hide from haze but she couldn’t move her body physically without the pain. What if she’s brought even one perosn with her ... they could be alive to...

"There are no signs of seagulls around this area, not to mention that the original destination had no diamonds. The ship was going in the opposite direction to begin with, and that means he wanted everyone to be asleep... Maybe something was in the food."

The last dinner, which Isabella threw up in the sea, and Haze didn't eat at all in preparation for killing the dutchess, was supposed to keep them asleep, which the ship sank. But then, where was the captain now? surely he didn't want to die with the ship? "The captain might be somewhere in this island, and he will kill us if he finds us. Always stay near me."

That was the longest Haze talked about something in a while now; he was starting to trust Isabella, at least in the sense that she wouldn't stab his back or rat him away.
