I find no flaw with this model.

how about a satellite photo of earth taken from outside earth? it shows a sphere instead of a flat plane

Who am I?

But Random, have you ever seen an amateur satelite photo of the Earth from orbit?

Shame this thread isn’t doing too well recently. I love looking back through things and taking notes for my astronomy/physics classes

You are absolutely right Snows. You should build a rocket and blow yourself up, I mean, blast off into space and take photos of the truth!

The World isn't flat, but it isn't round either.

It looks like this:

That's how The World looks like, but I'm pretty sure Earth is round.

Why does Earths shadow cover more the entirety of the moon during a lunar eclipse? Compared to how small the shadow of the moon during solar eclipse.

The Umbra shadow of the moon on earth is at most 267 km which is 165 miles. (http://www.astronomy.ohio-state.edu/~po ... ipses.html)
So let's do some basic proportional math to see what size the actual shadow of earth should be on the moon (*spoiler it doesn't match with the globe reality*)

The diameter of the moon is 2,159 miles and the diameter of th earth is 7,917 miles. So we know the size of the moon's Umbra on earths surface is at most 165 miles.

165/ 2,159 = X/ 7,917
0.07642 = X/7,917
X= 605 miles

Oh Kyle what about the relative distance of the moon to earth compared to the earth to moon distance.

Earth to sun distance is 92.96 million miles while the earth to moon distance is 238,900 miles. We subtract that from 92.96 million miles to get the distance of sun to moon during solar eclipse which is 92.72 million miles. Now we factor this in to our solution to account for this relatively small distance.

92.96/92.72= 1.0003

1.0003 × 605 = 605.2 miles

So we now know earths umbra shadow on the surface on the moon should be 605 miles. This would not fully cover the moon as seen in a lunar eclipse because the moon's diameter is 2,159 miles. It would cover just a little bit more than 1/3 of the moon.

Conclusion: The shadow on the moon during lunar eclipse is not of the earths

Could you change your tagline to "I have 605.2 miles to go before I sleep," please?

The length of Earth’s umbra is 1.4 million km long, which is 3.7x longer than the mean distance from Earth to the moon. The size of the umbra which the moon passes through is 9000 km, or 2.6x the diamater of the moon.

The moon’s umbral tail is about 400,000 km long.

You have something gravely wrong with your math, and I really don’t have time to figure out what all it is. I’m fairly certain it’s surface area, and how much wider the Earth is compared to the moon that you are not taking into account.
