The bartender turned to the group and smiled beneath his mask.
"Ladies, gentleman and other... I present to you, my friend, The Stranger."
Plodding out of the shadows was a long, flat quadruped. His skin was a deep orange, with yellow marks on its body, presumably scars. What intrigued the people the most was his body; it resembles something like a crocodile, except with a much broader mouth, and its 'tail' didn't sway about. His legs were small and stumpy, resembling something like a rhino's.
"Good evening, my clients." He spoke through a translator. He then stomped on something shaped like his foot, opening up another room.
"Ask any questions you have. Then I'll continue."
"Yeah; WHAT are you?" Eisly asked, overwhelmed by the fact that sentient quadrupeds even exist

Ambrosia observed the 'creature' in front of her, eyes narrowed in confusion. What the hell was this thing? There was no way he was the Stranger. When he spoke, she shook her head as he referred to them as clients. She was here for freedom and nothing more; She didn't want to associate with any of these people, not for a long shot. She had better things to do than hang with some gambling Eucharis, a failed flirt Warrior-human mix, and a Dominatrix Damotrice (Which in her mind, was rather fitting). After Eisly asked his slightly intrusive question, Ambrosia asked her own. "What exactly is it you want from us?" She questioned, her voice monotonous.

Mirmuse stared at the creature in puzzlement, leaning forward slightly to get a better look at it. It looked pretty damn cool for something that was probably a supervillain, Mirmuse had seen enough spy films to know where this was going.

They were going to get a speech about helping the greater good, they'd be asked to do something awful, they'd refuse, and then poison gas would pipe in through the vents and when they woke up their brain would be in a jar or something while their body was turned into a robot assassin. Which would be bad for everyone, but especially them.

"Nice to meet ya...?" they said hesitantly, glancing at the other 'clients'. At least all of them seemed to be in the same amount of shock as Mirmuse. "I'd kinda want to know why all the secrecy about this. Not saying I wouldn't've come if I'd known! But I'm sorta caught off guard, you feel me?"

“Well.. I can answer all of your questions. Well... all but one. Bare with me on that. Secrecy is quite simple; if this causes a massive fuss then the plan will fail almost immediately. No exceptions. As for the other question: yes. Sentient quadrupeds are much more common than you think. I come from Xeraltl; a swampy world, where the Prodigy personally saved my life. My name was changed in honour of this, this I am The Stranger.” He then turned to Ambrosia, pausing as he had to yawn, moving the top of his head open to a 80 degree angle, before shutting tightly. “As for mission purpose, I won’t go into too much detail. However I WILL tell you who you’re working for.”
The bartender began showing a video, showcasing a tall building and five shadowy figures. Each one had a symbol on them, with some being recognisable; one had the symbol of the Trade Union, another with a religious order that helped manage inter-religion crisis. Two of the other symbols were relating to EFIC’ diplomacy and military branches, and as for the fifth.... it was unknown.
“The Conglomerate of Anti-Terrorism, or CAT, is a recently established organisation dealing with threats that affect the Galaxy. They called upon me to help deal with a problem as they’re too busy with a planetary threat, which I advertised to you guys. If you wish to continue with this mission, then follow me.” He then plodded into a dark room, barely lit by a few fluorescent lights.

Unlike many of the others, Akello didn't outwardly show any confusion towards the appearance of the stranger. She guessed that he was just some rarer race or experiment, which she could relate to as her race was both and hardly many people had heard of it, as it was so rare. Besides, she had been discovering races from the moment she set foot on Icarus Prime until now; each new one she met being seemingly stranger than the last.
Although even she had to admit that she scarcely got glances of sentient quadrupeds.

Unlike his friend, Sethula was anxious about what was going to be asked from them, he was somewhat reassured by the heavy weight of the gun strapped to him. Even though things didn't seem too bad now. Upon listening to The Stranger's reasons for calling them only more questions came to his mind. He wasn't sure at all if they should be involving themselves in this. Sure, the group had done worse, but this seemed far too serious for his liking.

"Does this mean we're going to be fighting terrorists?" Akello asked, following the man with the group. It occurred to her that, if The Stranger was telling the truth, the threat that they were facing had to be far worse than the gangs which were called to the meeting.
Being someone who was constantly looking for something new and exciting to occupy herself with, this very much excited Akello.

Shaking their head, Mirmuse followed the creature into the next room. They ignored the voice at the back of their mind screaming what a stupid idea this was, that they were going to end up with their head mounted on the wall if they kept humoring strange aliens like this. They were too intrigued by what it'd told them- a mission from CAT wasn't something they'd ever dreamed they'd be a part of.

"How dangerous is this gonna be?" they asked, glancing at the weapons they could see on their companions and rolling their shoulders self-consciously. Their drill was in their backpack, and while it could be formidable in close range it wouldn't really help much in a gun fight.

Listening to Akello’s question, The Stranger looked at her (or at least she assumed so) and spoke at a slightly higher pitch. “Terrorists: Possibly. What I DO know is that they’re a bunch of radical extremists, however they haven’t committed anything to be classified as terrorism at this point in time. CAT has only been in commission for only a few months after the E\/€1²|_!|"3 I11(1đ£(\)']['“ The last part came out as a jumbled mess, as if the person that created the translator put a filter on it so nobody would know what had happened.
“As for how dangerous, well it’s entirely possible that someone’s gonna die. But I believe in you all, and that you’d all make the right choices.”

”I have no questions, Stranger. I’m ready to head in and accept the mission.” Eisly announces to the group, stepping into the dark room with their contact, making sure he didn’t trip on anything small.

Ambrosia sighed, hearing the spiel about anti-terrorist organizations and such. Would this really be worth it? For a moment she looked back, out to the doors that would lead her back to the life she had lived for so long. Did she really want to be forced back into that hellhole, dancing around in circles for the rest of her life like they told her? Letting out a frustrated groan, Ambrosia looked back and followed after Eisly, not looking all too amused. "I guess i'm in too. Not much of a choice nowadays."

Tilting her head to the side slightly when The Stranger's words were seemingly censored by their translator, it was clear that Akello was confused by it. Was that intentional? Perhaps the situation was more serious then she had previously thought. Though it wasn't likely that the information would be much use to her, she still wanted to find out what it was that The Stranger was talking about. It wasn't much use asking as the answer she would be given would most likely be a jumbled mess too.

As for dying, Akello wasn't worried about that. Being fairly confident in her abilities to defend herself the threat of a fight didn't scare her all too much. She had been in a hell of a lot of them, usually remembering the most interesting ones. Defending herself was just part of life for her now, being a small female in a city filled with crime.
It was obvious that Sethula didn't feel the same about fighting. Despite being very protective, he surely didn't want to risk putting himself in danger. He also knew Akello's attitude and was aware of the anger that would be upon him from the other members of the group if he were to let something happen to her. This was the main reason of why he hadn't left yet.

"I'm in also," Akello announced, eager to start finally doing something interesting. "This sounds fun."

As everyone walked through the corridor, they were soon greeted by a pitch black chamber, which was comfortably cool compared to the slightly humid streets of Casino.
A large logo was projected into the middle of the black room, shining many neon colours; red, yellow, green, purple and cyan.
The holographic projection then split into five different chairs, arranged into a circle. Three of the seats were filled.
”Look I know he’s meant to be special and all... but do we need him here? A young human woman projected in red asked. The lady projected in green shook her head, clearly opposing the younger woman’s views.
”I’m fairly certain that he’d make a valuable asset to the council. He’s the only way that EFIC can be safe.
And besides, Samantha: if Ashton is a terrible leader, then we can simply wait until Arkana gets back. The man in purple replied, donned in religious robes.
A door opened in the background, revealing three additional figures. Two of them; a Luparis woman and an armoured figure closed the door as a third (presumably Ashton) took his spot in the circle. He was certainly the odd one out of the group: unlike the others, which wore very job-like uniforms, Ashton wore square square sunglasses, an aran sweater and cotton pants.
”Ahh you’re the people we scouted out! Glad to see you all accepted. We would be handling this mission ourselves if it weren’t for the ordeals we’re facing at this point in time.” The other CAT leaders then realised that their tirade was shown to the contacts, and all paused in awkward silence. Ashton continued.
Anyway; your mission is simple. We’ve heard rumours of an uprising within the Warrior race. Whilst we would normally leave these types of things to the leaders of the race to deal with, they’re kind of too busy trying to maintain the lives of the people. As for the consequences...
”This uprising is heavily pro-slavery. They’ll enslave anyone and everyone that isn’t rich or if their race.
”...Yeah I’m just gonna let that sink in for you guys.”
