Isabella slept soundly for awhile for the first time in so long. A smile gracing her lips. At some point in the night she scooted closer to him and inevitably had her head on his chest as the morning dawn shone through the window. Lighting their bed with a graceful light.

Haze awoke fairly early in the morning, injecting the tranquilizer while Isabella was still asleep. One day, he thought, if he was sure Isabella wouldn't hate him even if he told the truth, he would let her know what he was doing. He then briefly used the restroom (a small pit behind the inn) and returned before Isabella was asleep. Realizing that Isabella and himself haven't really bathed for four days either, he got ready to go out. (Bathing was a thing in medieval times, but only the very rich were able to afford personal baths. the commoners used public baths. There were no separate places for men and women, so seeing each other naked made churches think it was a sin; but it had little influence on the popularity of the baths.)

Isabella awoke later that morning to Haze moaning about. Slowly she yawned and sat up rubbing the sleep out of her eyes and stretching her arms. She sighed and leaned forward and felt her legs wishing they weren’t the way they were. Slowly she looked up and smiled at Haze and gave him a questioning looknas to what he was doing.

"We are going to a public bath before we leave this city. I have a plan on where we wish to settle, but we don't want to head there smelling like pigs." Haze knew he wasn't going to be able to assasinate people like he used to, while bringing Isabella around. Instead, he planned on hunting animals. His goal was to join a town of hunter gatherers.

Isabella nodded at everything Haze was saying. They shouldn’t be smelling the way they were but a deep blush covered her cheeks. They had to go to the public bath. He would see her, her scars. To say she was terrified was an understatement. Isabella nodded shyly and crawled to the edge of the bed to get some help from Haze. She needed him still badly. Not only hat but he’d have to help wash her.

Not knowing of Isabella's fears, he hoisted her onto his back once again. While the public bath was often used as a hotspot for sexual misconduct my young men, and the officials condoned it to a degree, Haze strongly doubted that anyone would dare come challenge him when he was right next to Isabella.

The public bath was only five blocks away from the inn. Handing the keeper a silver coin, he walked in and started to undress. Starting from a deep gash on his back, a series of scars were on various parts of his body, which was the very reason why most people stayed away from him. It was only after he was finished undressing that he turned to Isabella and started undressing her. First thing he noticed was the gash on her side; the wounds weren't completely closed, so he would have to be wary when she was washing.

Isabella clung to Haze as they walked through the town, she buried her face in his back again to avoid the looks. She didn’t know where they were until. She was out down. She sat still and realized he was undressing immediately she closed her eyes and by her lip when he began to help her undress. She gasped at the cool air and clutches her main undergarments to keep them on. She would just wash with them on. Save some of her modesty.

Haze only realized how embarrassed Isabella was after she started to clutch onto her undergarments. However, she only had one set of them and Haze didn't intend on having them wet for the entire trip. Instead, he paid the keeper at the entrance for a piece of cloth. Usually those who could afford thier own tub used these cloths as a shower curtain (Although there were no shower curtains back then, there were people using cloth to cover thier bath, draping them like a curtain.).

"You can use these to cover yourself. You shouldn't have your clothes wet, you will catch a cold." Haze tried persuading her.

Isabella watched haze and she shyly took the cloth and wrapped it around herself. She was nervous and scared. What if haze thought differently of her? That she was too scared and weak? And he left. Isabella looked down and let him continue with what he was doing and stared
at the ground in embarrassment.

Haze was fairly unfazed by Isabella's scars. Scars and huge wounds were fairly common in his line of work, especially with the amount of enemies Haze had. Giving Isabella a slight pat on the back, he grabbed a bar of soap (soap during this time was very different from soap now, but yes they had soap and soapmakers) and lightly scrubbed her back. He did realize that women seemed to make a bigger deal about looks and scars, but Haze view scars as a token. It meant that the person was strong enough to live through a danger big enough to gift them that scar.
