Isabella smiled and looked at Haze in admiration as he placed in a nice spot of grass in the shade. Smiling she tuned her legs nicely about her and watched him move around. She watched him work and slowly and weakly she crawled around and plucked some wild flowers and long strings of wild grass. Humming softly and practicing quietly some basic vowels and sounds she took her and and strung together a crown for him. As he worked she wobbled and stood up weakly and hobbled, limped, and walked slowly to him. Once she was close enough, Isabella placed the crown on his head and smiled softly at him.

Nate Handel. He was the captain of the very ship that the dutchess sank in. However, the captain had no reason to sink the ship, risking his life and job, if he wasn't paid by another person to do so.

Adrian Griffith was a political figure, just with not enough power to back his position up. He had plotted plans to get rid of the dutchess, and deem her possessions his. However, when he heard the man he hired, Nate Handel, was now dead, he couldn't help but wonder if there were witnesses to his crime.

And some research led to a crew member named <James>, and a mute servant of the dutchess. The servant couldn't matter less; she was powerless in terms of political position, and had close to zero combat powers. She was harmless to Baron Griffith.

Next was <James>. No one knew of this crew member's past, or anything prior to the trip, making him all the more suspicious. Some sightings of a man carrying a woman on his back in a nearby city from the ship crash confirmed that this was what he was looking for. Judging from how people said he looked like, he was a top class assasin named Haze Yasle.

But what was a top class assasin doing with a servant? Haze was known to have no emotions... Baron Griffith couldn't think of a way to get rid of Haze, until he finally got to a realization. 'He must have needed that servant to carry her around like that. The girl must be the only weakness he has that we can abuse.'

Haze smiled, not knowing of the troubles before them as a fluffy flower crown was placed on his head. The crown almost looked like the crest of thorns above the head of Jesus just before his crucifixion.

Isabella smiled and hugged Haze softly and gently with a loving touch. “H-Haze” she stated very softly with only a little hoarseness. She had been practicing for hour just for him and wanted to make him smile. He had done so much for her and she was so very grateful.

Haze almost had hearts in his eyes, upon hearing his name. He obtained his name by killing his father, and had only used his name as a part of his profession; he never really thought it could sound so enticing until just now. He was about to hug Isabella, when his brows furrowed. Smoke.

How had he not realized this until now? Haze was so focused on Isabella that he forgot about what kind of world he lived in- he was under constant attack. The smell of the smoke was faint, so Isabella wouldn't sense it yet. Not wanting to make her panic, he continued to hug her, making his face relaxed once more.

Griffith could not find Haze from the city, as the man was long gone, deep into the forest. And in the forest, there was no way Haze would lose to anything Griffith might send. As a solution, The baron set fire to the forest... Haze would have to run out towards him.

"Isabella. It is time we ran. Hold onto me tightly." Haze assured Isabella, slowly pouting towards the now bellowing smoke, then hoisted her onto his back. He was not used to fighting while carrying someone, or protecting anyone, but he didn't care. For Haze, it was always do or die. And he wasn't dead yet.

Isabella smiled warmly as he hugged her and back buried her head in his chest. When they Finished Haze pointed towards the smoke stating it was time they ran. Tears filled Isabella eyes, they needed to leave again. She points towards the house. “H-Home.” She stated hoarsely and roughly. They had just arrived and she was happy there but they had to leave again.

"We will be back." Haze told Isabella, as he knew the exact location of the hiding place was not found, otherwise a wide scale forest fire would be unnecessary. However, something was odd with Haze.

He easily located where the fire started from, but instead of running from it like he said he would, he raced towards it. The assasin was emotionless during all his missions, yet a lot has changed since his last one. Deep within, he knew he felt something; anger. A seething rage was building within him, Haze could just feel it boiling. "I will let him see everything he built, crumble in front of his eyes."

Griffith was waiting for Haze, with a dozen armed mercenaries with him.
"Go to hell" Haze let out a very low growl. There was no doubt who was in a better position; Haze's only weapon was a rusty dagger, as he was out of needles as well. He also had Isabella on his back, who he had to protect. On the other hand, Baron Griffith was well out of range, with a dozen men armed with bows, arrows, and longswords all aiming or charging at Haze. Oddly, the assasin was still not trying to hide or attack from the shadows. Instead, he was charging straight at the soliders, without a single cloud of worry in his mind. "You messed with the wrong person."

Isabella cried softly and clung to Haze tightly. She didn’t listen to anything and buried her head. She knew there was danger. Hearing Haze growl she clung tighter to his shirt and but her lip. After his last sentence was uttered she felt him moving forward hurriedly and she gasped. Hearing yells and shouts Isabella sobbed softly and tried to ignore it all. A piercing scream erupted from her throat. As Haze fought an arrow struck Isabella’s upper left shoulder and went almsot all the way through. Blood seeped out and Isabella cried in pain her hold on Haze weakening till she feel off.

Isabella was crying. She was hit by an arrow and fell off his back.

As those thought registered into Haze's brain, the last bit of sanity in him was gone. His beloved was hurt, his home burnt, and all his wishes in shattered pieces again. Before any of the archers could aim, Haze dashed at one of them and sank his rusty dagger. The dagger was no longer useable, but none of that mattered to Haze. The dull blow sent the archer down, where Haze stabbed the archer's throat with his own arrow. "Attack the servant!" The Baron screamed, but Haze simply dived in front of the hail of arrows with his own body.

Blood... blood was everywhere, but Haze was alive. It was an incredible feat, how he tanked all the arrows with his body while narrowly twisting to avoid getting hit in any vitals. Stunned at the unprecedented feat, the archers went down one by one as Haze now had a bow and arrow.

Next were the swordsmen. Dodging one attack, Haze lightly pushed the man to redirect his attacks to his own ally. The swordsmen stabbed each other, and went down. Dripping blood all over his body, the true devil from hell picked up a longsword, and walked towards Griffith, a step at a time. "S - spare me!" The noble shouted, but no words reached Haze.

Diving next to Isabella, Griffith took out the arrow stuck on her arm, and directed the tip at her right eye. "Don't move, you monster, before I murder this woman!"

It was only then when Haze froze in place, glaring at Adrian Griffith, full of disgust. "I will have you and your family suffer the same fate." Haze muttered, but still unable to move. He never once hesitated when his own life was on the line, but when Isabella was in danger, he seemed to falter.

Isabella cried as rhe fight continued another scream ripping out as the Baron pulled the arrow out of her, the would now bleeding freely. She whimpered and cobbled tears running down her pale cheeks as she curled up as if to protect herself. Only to have the baron threaten her life. Isabella whimpered and looked at Haze with fear in her eyes. “R-Run.” She whimpered but told Haze to run with love showing through a little bit. She wanted him to live. As soon as she was done her close her eyes and bit her lip waiting for the final impact.

"Run" it was what Isabella told Haze, even when she clearly wasn't used to fights, or being in pain. It was never, and would never, be an option for Haze.

Of course, he could fall back, and chase with the metal Isabella had in her foot, but something within him didn't allow his retreat. Haze's brain started running wild calculations in less than a second. What if he threw his sword at Griffith? Griffith wouldn't pierce Isabella in time, but he could use her as a shield against the sword. But what if... he did fall back and chased them? Isabella would be a burden to the baron now that Griffith decided to run away, so the baron would kill her anyway. After thinking of every possible way, he came to one conclusion. "Forgive me." He told Isabella.

Haze tossed his sword in the air, and put both hands up. "I give up. Let her go."

"Too late" The Baron scoffed, stabbing Isabella's eye with the arrow- or he tried. The sword came crashing back down, hit Isabella's leg, and deflected straight into the Baron's chest.

"You are right. It is too late." Haze answered. "It is checkmate."

The Baron howled in pain and gasped for air, with a look of desperation in his face. "You are not getting away with this... you will... you will..." Even as he was speaking, his life was seeping out of his hands. Haze had won.

When a dirty man goes down with his last ditch effort thwarted, he does not go down clean. His vision slowly fading, Adrian wanted something Haze and Isabella would forever hate him for. "You will no longer be able to hold up your petty face in public!" He produced a flask from his sleeve, and poured acid all over the servant's face. However, Haze was already dashing in front, blocking the attempt with his sword. The sword melted into nothing, stopping most of the liquid from hitting anyone. Sadly, a few drops bounced here and there, some of it flying towards Isabella's eyes, and also a huge part of it onto Haze's hands.

At last, the Baron laid on the floor, lifeless. Even his acid didn't seem to have killed Isabella... even with a dozen men, he couldn't take two peasants- one without any fighting experience- down.

Haze sat and groaned in pain as the Acid tore off his skin, showing muscle and bones. He quickly washed his hands with blood, to get rid of the acid, before rushing towards Isabella. He could no longer stay at his home... he would take the Baron's home and claim it as his.
