Isabella cried out then the sword pierced her leg briefly and she sobbed as acid drops speckled her face. Luckily it missed her eyes, nose, and mouth. She sobbed and winced as the burning sensation intensified but she crawled weakly over to Haze. She met him half way and sobbed. A he sat down she crawled and placed her innocent head in her lap and closed her eyes. She was still so scared, weak, and in pain. Her body shaking as sobs wracked through her delicate body.

Haze hurriedly sprayed his own blood from his hands over Isabella's face, trying to wash away the acid. Already parts of skin were peeling off, but he managed to wash it off before any lasting damage happened. The burn marks were on her face, a few speckles on her cheeks, a few on her forehead, but for the most part, she was fine.

One the other hand, Haze's hands were making cracking and snapping noises as he was hugging Isabella trying to comfort her. He himself knew it was not a good symptom, but all he cared was that Isabella was alive. He now knew him alone would not be enough to keep Isabella safe. He would make her into a dutchess. The real dutchess was dead, with no family members... and Isabella's face was not really recognizable by those who knew her from the mansion; she wasn't even mute anymore. With the leg and the face, along with the shipwreck, if Haze took over Griffith and the dutchess's place by force, and claimed Isabella was the dutchess, no one would be able to stand up and question the matter.

Isabella cried and buried her head in Haze’s legs and sighed. Eventually her spots lessened in pain and she sobbed turned into feint whimpered that were few in between. “Haze...” she whispered softly fear still evident in her eyes. She was still so very scared and scooted up towards Haze and relaxed into him.

"I am sorry. It is my fault." Isabella was never part of this side of the world, with wars, murder and numerous injuries. "You now live with a very dangerous person. And it may even be worse as I go on." He paused a bit, before making his next statement. "But I won't stop until I know you are safe."

Haze very briefly looked at his hands, knowing that a lot of the muscles were damaged- he would have to refrain from lifting heavy objects for a while, such as carrying Isabella. Tearing part of his shirt off, he wrapped up both hands, and tied a knot. Next, he looked at Isabella's leg. The leg was mostly fine, just the sharp cut from earlier. It would heal on its own, just like most of the arrow wounds on Haze's body.

Lastly he checked her left shoulder. The arrow first pierced her upper left arm, into her shoulder, and almost penetrated through. When the Baron violently yanked the arrow out, the wound was further forced open, causing some blood loss. The assasin checked if the arrow was poisoned, but it was not. Haze didn't know much about muscles, but the torn biceps and triceps dangling together did look serious to even him. Digging into his memories, he recalled that muscles did heal over time; He would stop the bleeding first. Remembering how the metal coating held Isabella's bones in place, and also saved both thier lives today, he decided he should have Isabella wear more protection. "This will hurt a bit, but don't move." It was the same words Haze once told her on the island, yet the tone was so much softer.

Haze poured what little alloy he had left into her left arm, preventing it from dangling for the time being. Her left arm was now locked in a half bent position, her hand and wrist moving but her arm and shoulder stuck. Without her arm moving, it would be impossible for Isabella to maintain balance while limping, so after stitching her left arm and shoulder up, Haze crafted a metallic cane for Isabella to hold on her free, right hand to maintain balance and support her body while walking. He also donned her with chain mail under her dress, as plate mail would be too heavy for her, and regular cloth would not stop arrows and swords. Lastly, he coated the alloy on her right leg even thicker, locking her right leg in a half bent position as well. "We are going to the dutchess's mansion... you will have protection there. Let's go home."

What Haze meant by home was not in the literal sense, but it would be where the two would now belong, together. As long as they found a safe place to live together, it could be there home now... Haze felt like he belonged, where ever Isabella was.

The big reason why Haze layered metal over metal upon Isabella, despite making her slightly more immobile, was because of the battle before them, but also because of what he was going to tell the people. Just a few marks on the face wasn't enough to tell people that the dutchess survived from a storm of that scale. The huge injury to the leg and arm would add credibility to his plans.

Isabella whimpered and looked up at Haze, wondering what on earth he was going to do. She was so tired and in pain she was in shock. She cried at first unable to see what was going on but soon she was screaming and forcing herself not to move as he ‘fixed’ her. She scream one final time before passing out form the pain and going limp in the soft grass. Covered in blood. Her fair beauty marred a little bit, soft lips parted in a gentle way as she breathed in and out evenly. Her raven hair spread in a halo around her innocent face.

Haze looked left and right, before realizing what kind of situation they were in. They just murdered a noble in the streets, causing a mess, followed by screaming, and blood everywhere. The guards would be after them in a minute, but Isabella was unconscious, and Haze unable to carry her.

"...please wake up." Haze pleaded but Isabella was knocked out good. As he heard the steps of horses, he knew he had to make a decision. Looking at his hands then at Isabella, he grabbed Isabella, who literally was a hunk of metal with all the armor and alloy she had, and hopped into the shadows.

A good three hours later, Haze was able to run from the guards, and find an inn to lay Isabella down. His limp left hand he knew was done for good, and his right was aching like crazy but still somehow moving. Collapsing out of fatigue next to Isabella, Haze also fell unconscious on the bed. The inexperience from Isabella, although it wasn't her fault she was dragged in, was taking its toll on Haze.

Isabella lay limp the entire trip. Eventually she awoke hours later and whimpered in pain beofre sitting up weakly. She rubbed her eyes and looked around only to see Haze in the painful state he was in. She decided to help him. Taking his hands in hers she studied then. His left hand was mostly gone but not fully and could be healed. It was a slow process. Luckily his right hand wasn’t not as bad. Unwrapping his hands she cried and felt then tenderly. Groaning she laid them there and got up and Moved about the room, falling a few times, practicing her walking, or well hobbling and gathered some bandages and dipped them in cool water form the pitcher in the room. Taking some herbal ointment she ground up a good pulp and applied them to the bandages. SLowly she wobbled back to the bed and began to treat his hands. Hours later she finished and his hands were very carefully wrapped and cleaned. Taking a rag she cleaned his face and all open wounds and began the process again with every wound, every peircing, every cut. Once she was satisfied Isabella sat limp on the chair on the side of the room by the window. She hoped to be awake when he did. But her eyes betrayed her and soon enough she was asleep soundly in the chair. Her hair laying against her face as she breathed softly in and out.

Haze woke up near midnight, uncharacteristic of his profession. The extended fight really took its toll on him. As he came back to his senses, the first thing he tried to do was move his left hand. Sadly, the tips of his fingers shook, then lay limp. Shaking his head, the assasin used his right hand... it moved. Slowly, pushing himself to an upright position, he looked for Isabella.

The servant was not beside him, to his bewilderment. With her left leg not just heavy but also unfuctional, she wouldn't even be able to walk without a cane, how far could she- and then he found her. She laid herself on a chair nearby, in the narrow line between sleeping and fainting. Judging from how his wounds were treated, Isabella must have strained herself moving back and forth from the water bucket and the bed. Her left arm was still disfunctional above her wrist, deeming it useless apart from holding things. She couldn't move the arm to pick things up or to toss things, just to maybe hold things if someone put something in her hand or if she put something onto her left hand using her right. Her right hand needed to use to cane while walking, so this was a very hard task.

Then what exactly had happened while Haze was asleep? Isabella must have hobbled around with the cane in her right hand, and a wet towel that was in her right hand when she used it, but on her left hand when she moved around with the cane. The sheer weight the servant had to carry around with her made it near impossible to move around without tiring herself, but Haze could not carry her.

His next thought was on how he would take her to the dutchess's mansion. He couldn't carry Isabella, and she would die before she finished walking there. Then how? After some thought, Haze came to a conclusion. It was time he taught her how to ride horses.

Looking back down, Haze murmured to himself, "Just a few more days of rest." Isabella needed it, and so did he.

Isabella slept soundly in the chair her body too tired and worn from what she did to Haze and all of the events that took place beofre it. Her body fully shut down and she fell into a comatose state. She needed rest badly. The shock from it all only made it worse. Her leg and arm weren’t coping with the metal and her blood was a little infected form the rust inside. She had pushed her frail innocent body too far. How long this state would last, no one knew.

Three days has passed.

The first day was uneventful, as neither Haze nor Isabella got up due to the fatigue.

The second day was when Haze started to find it weird that Isabella was not waking up. As much knowledge Haze had about the body due to his study on how to kill it, he was no doctor. After some debate, he decided he needed to take some risks, and went to look for a doctor.

The third day was when a doctor came to take a look at Isabella and Haze. Sadly, in the era they lived in, the medical level were not that high, and doctors were misinformed on a lot of things. After measuring Isabella's pulse and checking for symptoms, the doctor told Haze that Isabella had simply been too stressed and worn out. He made some medicine for her, but sadly the medicine didn't really include anything that would be of help.

Next thing Haze tried was grabbing a priest who didn't know his face. The priest said, "It is the doing of beelzebub, the evil demon. You should chase the demon away with fire" When the priest walked towards Isabella with a torch, Haze chased him away.
