Marvel: Dimensional Dilemma

Post by Gecko » Mon Mar 05, 2018 1:56 am

The world will end.

It must end; nothing lasts forever. Forever is powerful, it lasts a lifetime. However, immortal is indestructible. That is why only few men wield the ability to destroy worlds.

There is only darkness. A being sits on a throne of nothingness, leaning into his arm with his chin resting on his hand. He stares into the void of emptiness for a while, thoughts running behind his dark eyes before he extends the opposite hand out in front of him. A perfect circle of light appears over his hand and shows a small window, exposing the world he sought to obliterate next. It had tall buildings and cars driving up and down the street, people scurrying to their next destination without a care for what lays beyond everything. There were superheroes and villains of all kinds. People that would know how to stop him if they tried.

He sat up and extended his other hand, showing yet another world. It mirrored the other one exactly, but there was a significant difference. This world, this dimension, had the same super-powered people with vile intentions...and they had won. They were ten times more powerful than their heroic counterparts. They were a distraction.

The being brought his hands together and had the circles face each other. The dying universe floated next to its peaceful counterpart, and the man shrouded in nothing watched as a tunnel formed from it to the other, forming a bridge. He watched as a few of the smaller villains crossed over in search of the ones he knew would destroy him in the future. The sons and daughters of the so-called heroes.

The man feared the children of the gifted.

=====

In New York, a large portal formed. Wind whipped around the city, sending litter flying around and papers out of people's hands. Though things like this had happened many times before, it didn't scare New Yorkers any less. People screamed in terror as other-worldly travelers dropped in from the portal and began their merciless crusade of murders and looting. These people had bright yellow eyes and a thirst to kill the children of any heroes that would destroy their newfound master, a man that went by the name "Nihil." They kill anything in their way.

=====

The idea is that our characters are children of Avengers, Guardians, X-Men, you name it. I suppose villains are okay, too. But they fight off these other-dimensional beings of themselves and their parents and friends as well. They are merciless, deadly, and cunning.

I personally apologise for anything that doesn't make sense.

What was a routine New York day suddenly turned into one of the shittiest moments ever.

Maya Quill had been sitting on the edge of her white and unkempt bed with a boy, Sam Lee next to her, right in the middle of a "tutoring session" when the sky decided to open up and spitball some trouble into the city. When the alert popped up on her phone that danger was imminent (it was something that she had grown used to by now), Maya rolled her eyes and pulled away from Sam, who seemed disappointed and confused that he didn't score a kiss. She stuffed her math work into the book and set it behind her on the bed in a hurry as Sam gave confused bouts of gibberish.

"Sorry," Maya muttered unhappily in response as she placed a knapsack onto her shoulders, "but I've got some shit to deal with. You can see yourself out, right? Mom can show you the door."

Maya snatched up a small earpiece off of her dresser and hooked it onto her ear, sliding open the window and climbing out. Her boots clanged against the metal escape unit as she walked up the stairs to the roof of the apartment complex, pausing as she reached the top. A giant hole had ripped through the atmosphere and some evil-looking people were zooming out. Some were falling, others gliding. Maya huffed and slipped her finger behind her ear, hitting a button. A mask closed over her face, red eyes lighting up as it clicked together, then swung her bag around and reached inside. Two of her father's special guns were inside. She kicked her heels against each other 'Wizard of Oz' style and the boots flared. Rockets launched her into the sky and she sped towards the scene with the guns in her hands.

Maya looked to her left as a scream rang out from below. She sped in the direction of the ruckus and landed on the ground with a thud. A woman and a young boy no older than eight were cornered by a large, muscular man that didn't look happy. Maya sprinted towards the perpetrator and gave him a nice, giant punch to the back of the head.

"Take that, asswipe!"

The man turned with an inhumane growl, eyes glowing - literally glowing - yellow. He looked familiar, like he was in school. Or was it the news?

"Hercules?" Maya said in surprise. She ducked as he swung a big fist in her direction, slamming it into a brick wall. It cracked under the immense strength. Maya fired back with her guns, but they barely did anything against his skin. He charged once again and this time caught the edge of her helmet, knocking her to the ground with a yelp. Goddammit, this asshole lives up to his name.

As the chaos erupted, the police response was quick, but it was futile in the face of such an overwhelming threat. As the police line surrounding ground zero of the invasion began to rout to a half dozen yellow eyed swordsmen advanced with relentless fury, a single figure dressed in a New York State Patrol uniform strode to the warriors with an expression of stoic determination. The trooper did not react as one of the interdimensional warriors broke off and charged him with a massive two handed sword until the invader raised his sword up in preparation of a swing. In the instant that the invader reached the apex of his wind up, the trooper snapped forward, turning into an amorphous mass of black slime and enveloping the swordsman in the amount of time it took for him to bring the sword down to where he just had been.

The swordsman writhed in pain, clawing desperately at the black mass that was covering every inch of his body. His struggles ceased quickly and the body fell to the ground, abandoned as the creature released the invader, who quivered weakly on the ground. The amorphous mass shifted, taking on a humanoid form that resembled the black suit that Spider Man had worn long ago, except bearing baleful yellow eyes and long claws. Malady stared down the five remaining swordsmen, daring them to make a move.

"Go. And Protect"
The voice had startled Solomon, as did the searing pain in his chest, He looked down to see that the dragon tattoo had started to lightly glow. He gabbed his mask and ran outside. New York was under attack. He quickly saw what looked like a rocket shoot toward the portal and land a block away from him. In the commotion on the streets he spotted a man on a motorcycle, the bike was idling and the man was stunned watching the horrific invasion unfold. Solomon ran toward the man and flipped onto the bike and sped off, priorities and such.

He sped through the city, and focused his inner Chi energy. As he did so he felt an energy coursing though his body and it appeared that time had slowed, but only just, allowing his reaction to navigate and take in the action, The bike began to near an intersection, out of the corner of his eye he saw a fight going on. A large man just struck a fighter in a mask and knocked them down. Solomon leaned and cranked the gas. He thought for a second to just swerve the bike and knock off the balance of this giant. But upon seeing the impact on the wall and that he was taking several blows from a pistol/lazer gun "I need one of those." he decided upon using the full force of the Yamaha. He readied himself for a rapid dismount. He snapped the gas, locking it to full and very quickly accelerating. He leapt to his feet for a moment to then dismount from the motorcycle and sent it careening into this whale's back. He rolled to a landing and looked up.

Ezrail just finished loading the last few boxes onto his ute. He locked the rail and jumped in his Ford Falcon. During his time in America which only had been months, he had picked up work as an electrition. Getting his A grade was easy enough thanks to his stupid crazy brains he was able to read a couple books in a few nights and complete tests without having to study a couple years. And also he was able to buy his dream car. A falcon FGX XR8. He was quiet satisfied with his accomplishment. He worked as an industrial eletrition soon however he would move onto domestic.

He jumped in his orange car and headed back home. A hotel, nothing fancy which he still needed to get used to. Growing up in a rich family didn’t exactly teach him much about worrying which he takes as a good thing. He likes to consider himself as a stress free, easy going bloke. He turned the key and his car erupted to life. It made a noise he didn’t like. He stuck his head out the window and looked at the front. Then a little up and saw it. A funny looking hole with funny looking things coming out of it.

“Oh good. It wasn’t my car.”

Somewhat relieved he stuck his head back in and rested it agaist the seat. He thought about what he just saw.

“Oh shit. What am I doing!?”

He released the handbreak and raced straight towards the swirling hole thing of death while slightly smiling. This is exactly how he came to America and why he has such gifts. To defend what his is. What is his motive.

A couple miles away from the gaint butthole from the sky he quickly parked his awesome car and jumped out and studied the scenario. Up ahead the can see fighting in different areas. Local police sped towards the chaos. They were probably no match for what was coming.

Ezrail closed his eyes and centered himself. Slowing his heart rate and focused on that small voice. Well it wasn’t a voice but another entity in him. The fire bird inside him probably watching TV or something. he wouldn’t know what somone does inside someone else’s body but he isn’t going to ponder on it now. Rather he focused on the power it gave him. It made him feel strong and fearless.

This is what I am called to do.

He opened his fiery amber coloured eyes. Amassing himself he ran towards the excitement. Adrenaline now rushing through him, his senses felt like they doubled. He cleard his mind and only focussed on the task at hand. He started to levitate off the ground a little as he continued running, giving him a burst of speed where it would be impossible for normal humans to accomplish.

Finally arriving to his fight, Police in the back that seemed terrified, and some black gooey thing with a humanoid structure and some ugly looking brutes with ugly looking weapons starring at the gooey thing. Not knowing to attack them all he would first aim at the enemies he is sure of.

Ezrail leaped high into the air, using his telepathic abilities to gain more altitude, he striked back down onto the ground between the black thing and the angry gaints, releasing psionic energy, and pushed all the giants back on their seats then he levitated objects onto them, crushing them with building debri.

He turned to face the black gooey thing, staring it down trying to decipher it to be friend or foe.
With great power, comes great electricity bills.

High above New York City the SHIELD helicarrier Lee was preparing to counter strike the invaders. Inside agents were running left and and right, arming themselves and heading to their battle stations, except for one. In his room, already armed and ready for combat, Will was quickly running through flash cards with random facts on them.

"Jueno is the capital of Alaska, all the swans in England belong to the queen, the dodo went extinct in 1662..." He muttered to himself, trying to give himself some meaningless information to forget before the battle. As he keep going an agent leaned in. "Come on Will, Let's go!" She shouted, causing the young man to drop his cards onto his bed and follow her to the nearest troop carrier.

Shortly after he boarded the carrier took off and the squad commander began explaining the mission, but Will didn't pay much attention. Stick with the group, kill the enemy, forget this ever happened by next week, fairly standard operating procedure. The carrier landed, and He lowered his skull like mask before rushing out with the others.

Nathan was walking down the street humming to a song he couldn't remember the name of. Suddenly some kind of giant hole appeared in the sky. Moments after seeing things coming out of the hole, he heard screaming and rushed towards the portal. As he turned a corner he saw some kind of fight going on between some big and a strange lady firing a strange pair of guns at him. Deciding to help the lady when she got knocked to the ground, Nathan started picking up and throwing rocks at Hercules, hoping to give the lady a chance to recover by distracting Hercules.

Of course, one of the very few times Zolice left her workshop, is when everything decided to go to hell. Really, why couldn't she go to the grocery store in peace? People made her uncomfortable. And now there's people from who knows where? Not space. They wouldn't need an interdimensional portal. It was interdimensional, right? Sure looked like it. She sighed as things started to go into chaos around her. She really wanted to just go back to the tower and let everyone else handle it.

But she really hadn't gotten the chance to test her cannon, or Renton's defense systems. She glanced down at the metal doberman at her side. "This might be the only chance you get to test your systems and see if you'll need upgrades..." she spoke to him.

The dog looked up to her, then towards the chaos, and someone who decided to throw rocks at a much larger person. "Sounds good to me... I think that guy is going to get his ass kicked..."

"then let's go." She set her groceries down in an alley and headed towards Nathan and Maya, her metal right arm shifting and forming into a large cannon as she charged it, firing at Hercules to try to knock him back away from the two others.

Malady stared back at the fiery figure that had taken out the swordsmen, flying in like some kind of fever dream. The symbiote turned back to look at the one that still lay trembling in the ground, trying to figure out if there was something in his body that was making Malady hallucinate. At all times, there was a tingling sensation running through its form that warned Malady of the dangers in the area, but this figure made that tingle grow painful.

Resisting the urge to run away, Malady reigned in its form to remove the more bestial aspects of its appearance, now resembling Black-Suited Spiderman.

"Gonna just stand around, kid?" Malady spoke with an adult man's voice, clearly agitated. In the distance it could hear a very crowded scuffle. It began to walk backwards, towards the fight. "There's a reckoning coming. With odds like these, either stand up and act or get clear. Just don't stand in a hot zone gawking. Good way to get shot."

Without waiting for a response, Malady crouched down and then leapt up into the air, swinging away on webbing, towards the battle.

Solomon watched as the motorcycle impacted against the giant man's (Hercules) back/calves. As the bike did, an impressive blast hit the man from the front and the combination knocked him off his feet. Solomon glanced at where the blast came from, a girl with a cannon for an arm. Next to her was a doglike machine and it was ready to fight. Another thing that caught his attention was a boy throwing rocks to assist. Strange choice of aid, but damn was he brave to assist. Hercules hit the ground, cracking it. Just as fast as he went down he got right back up. Solomon circled around in front of Hercules, rapidly assessing the threat. He assumed the Crane stance, one leg up and ready to quickly out maneuver this larger target. He exaggerated his movements slightly to hopefully buy extra distraction time for the masked fighter on the ground. Then again, his costume was still bright yellow and green like his father, so yeah, kind of hard to miss. Hercules roared and slammed his hands through the pavement to get a firm grip on a manhole cover. He got the grip alright, and he hurled that thing like a discus. Solomon felt the rush as he dodged the biggest headache of his life, he felt the breeze as it rocketed on by his head. Hercules charged.
