It must end; nothing lasts forever. Forever is powerful, it lasts a lifetime. However, immortal is indestructible. That is why only few men wield the ability to destroy worlds.
There is only darkness. A being sits on a throne of nothingness, leaning into his arm with his chin resting on his hand. He stares into the void of emptiness for a while, thoughts running behind his dark eyes before he extends the opposite hand out in front of him. A perfect circle of light appears over his hand and shows a small window, exposing the world he sought to obliterate next. It had tall buildings and cars driving up and down the street, people scurrying to their next destination without a care for what lays beyond everything. There were superheroes and villains of all kinds. People that would know how to stop him if they tried.
He sat up and extended his other hand, showing yet another world. It mirrored the other one exactly, but there was a significant difference. This world, this dimension, had the same super-powered people with vile intentions...and they had won. They were ten times more powerful than their heroic counterparts. They were a distraction.
The being brought his hands together and had the circles face each other. The dying universe floated next to its peaceful counterpart, and the man shrouded in nothing watched as a tunnel formed from it to the other, forming a bridge. He watched as a few of the smaller villains crossed over in search of the ones he knew would destroy him in the future. The sons and daughters of the so-called heroes.
The man feared the children of the gifted.
In New York, a large portal formed. Wind whipped around the city, sending litter flying around and papers out of people's hands. Though things like this had happened many times before, it didn't scare New Yorkers any less. People screamed in terror as other-worldly travelers dropped in from the portal and began their merciless crusade of murders and looting. These people had bright yellow eyes and a thirst to kill the children of any heroes that would destroy their newfound master, a man that went by the name "Nihil." They kill anything in their way.
The idea is that our characters are children of Avengers, Guardians, X-Men, you name it. I suppose villains are okay, too. But they fight off these other-dimensional beings of themselves and their parents and friends as well. They are merciless, deadly, and cunning.
I personally apologise for anything that doesn't make sense.
