It was the first day of summer, and Sydeny knew what that meant as she pulled herself from her queen sized bed to stumble across the wooden floor towards the window. As she looked out at the woods Syd knew she wouldn't be seeing or hearing her wolf or his pack for three months. Sighing she turned away, and got dressed in her favourite summer dress, it was light and short and had blue flowers all over it.

As she slipped on flip flops and tied her hair back Ayden walked down the stairs and into the kitchen to find it empty. Reading the note her mother and father had left for her she shook her head slightly before grabbing an apple and heading out the door to work.

The bookstore was Sydney's favourite place to be. As she stepped inside the familiar smell of books hit her nose, a small smile came to her lips as she walked to the counter and set her apple down beside the register.

First things first. Tyler dressed in his human clothes, making sure to look decent after the long winter. This summer he was certain he had found the right place- a little bookstore. He hadn't had much freedom as a wolf, he couldn't follow her everywhere without being discovered. People would freak out and call animal control to take care of him.. causing some unpleasant meet-ups. He walked to the bookstore, grabbing a coffee on the way after retrieving his savings. It was hard to earn enough money for the summer since he was a wolf nearly all year. He confidently stepped into the bookstore - already feeling a curious gaze or two. Two girls he assumed were his age were chattering and giggling about in a corner, looking away at the selection of books as soon as they noticed him gazing right back at them, his shining golden eyes conveying determination. Until he realized - there was no way he could walk up to the girl he has been watching and tell her 'oh hey, im the wolf who has been stalking you for like 5 years'. He lost some of his confidence and pretended to look about, wondering which book he would like to read.

Sydney had gotten to work right away by organizing books and what not on the shelves and tables. A lot of the time it was young people who came into the bookstore, it was used as a hang out place for them. This town wasn't very big or had much in it, so they made due with what they did have here. As she turned the corner she heard two girls giggling and whispering to each other, following their gaze Syd seen what had caught their attention, a boy.

But Sydney hadn't ever seen this boy before, so she too was curious. As she walked over she pulled her lips into a smile,"Hi.."she said as she came up behind him,"do you need help looking for something?"

Tyler was more than a bit startled when he heard the soft voice of the girl he had been watching. He stayed calm and turned around slowly, doing his best to act natural, clearing his throat and finally speaking. His expression was natural, and didn't betray him as he talked. "Oh- yes, actually. I am looking for a new book to read, and I could need some good recommendations." He offered her a soft smile, trying to seem friendly as he let himself actually admire Sydney's youthful beauty. Tyler made sure to hide his wandering gaze, making sure he stayed respectful to her. After he made it his duty to protect her he had often threatened men who dared disrespect Sydney with their perverted eyes. And yes, there might have been some jealousy hidden in those threats. But he brushed it off as his duty to protect her.

Sydney almost dropped the book that was currently in her hands, those eyes, she thought, where had she seen them before? As she turned away from him she cleared her throat a little,"Uhm.. well let's see what we have,"she said softly. She lead Tyler through the bookstore, grabbing a book here and there, when she was done she handed them to him with a smile,"Look through those and if you see one you like I'll be over there,"she pointed to the counter before stepping away.

As Sydeny walked away she chewed on her lower lip, golden eyes, they seemed so familiar to her. As she sat down on her stool she closed her eyes as she thought, it didn't take long for her to know where she had seen those golden eyes before. As her eyes flung open she almost fell off her stool, her wolf.. the one that lived behind her house, the same one that had saved her life that's where she had seen them. But it couldn't be.. because the owner of the eyes she had just looked into was human.

Tyler let out a silent sigh, sitting down at a table and looking through the books, his mind wandering to Sydney and distracting him from the pile of literature in front of him. He couldn't help it when he glanced up at Sydney from time to time, enjoying being near her. Closer to her than he had ever been before - ignoring the attack. Suddenly, Sydney seemed to jump in her seat, in shock or surprise, Tyler couldn't tell. His head whipped around to look at her and he had stood up from his chair by instinct, ready to go catch Sydney - but quickly realizing she was fine and awkwardly sitting back down. 'Darn.' He nearly blew his cover. She probably thought he was just a friendly guy, ready to help. He kept an eye on her as he made sure she wouldn't nearly fall off her chair again. Tyler looked at the cover of the next book to seem unsuspicious, suddenly not all that calm anymore - at least on the inside. Once again she heard those girls gossip and chat behind his back, and when he went to look at them, they squealed and began whispering louder when he turned away. It was not new to him to experience girls swoon all over him. But he disliked it. It was annoying and they usually got pushy- too pushy for his likings.

Sydney shook her head not believing what she was thinking. As she stood up she decided to put some more books away and such trying to keep her mind off the golden eyes and her connection with them. But still, Sydney couldn't knock that feeling the whole time she worked, as she climbed up to the upper level of the book store Sydney sat down on the couch that was up there as her mind went to her wolf. The same one that saved her life, the same one that disappeared during the summer but always came back, it couldn't be him though she thought.

As she stood up to look over the edge she noticed he hasn't looked up since she came up here despite the giggling girls, it surprised her to see him ignore them as well, most of the guys around here would have played into that by now.

After a frustrating while of having to listen to those girls, Tyler finally was done listening to giggles and chatters. He didn't exactly want to leave yet, but he definitely was at the end of his patience with these chicks. He picked an interest-sparking book that was sure to get him invested.. if he ever found time for it. Granted, he didnt lose his ability to read as a wolf, but he.. lost other abilities useful for reading, making it a hassle. In the summer he didn't want to spend all his time reading.. especially now that he was so close to Sydney.

He could still percieve the scent of her parfume that made it so incredibly easy to want to get closer.. but he can't. He grabbed the book and went over to the chattering girls, asking them if they had read the book he was holding. Obviously lying, the girls nodded their heads in a confirming motion, eager to talk to this handsome stranger. It was absolutely repulsive to Tyler.. the way they drooled over him. So he asked a trick question, about the content of the book.

He only had read the description and knew pretty much as little as they did. So he asked about the character's name.. quite easy to answer. And yet they struggled, trying to guess while Tyler's face and body language expressed patience and peace.

Soon they became embarrassed, excusing themselves and hurrying out of the shop after Tyler showed his disappointment in them as they humiliated themselves in front of him. He left their table again and went back to his own little table, where he grabbed the rest of the books and made sure to put them back neatly.
