The scene was so frantic... the only thing Marcus could hear were those damn alarms, they were so loud he couldn't think. He could only run. Marcus turned his head to see walkers heading for the exit from both sides.. there was no way they would all make it through.

As the the hole in the fence came more into view, it seemed biters began squeezing through. There had to be another way.. if they made it to the fire escape.. they'd be safe for the time being. The only thing Marcus felt was the intense rush the adrenaline coursing through his vains as things progressed. His mind was cloudy, he wasnt thinking straight. "Charlie! Charlie!" Marcus called out to the boy, grabbing his shoulder to look at him. "There's another way." He spoke loudly as he told the now frantic young man.

"Lead the way then!" Charlie yelled back as he now followed behind marcus, keeping Olivia in front of him. The boy was scared out of his mind, sweat beading up on his anxiety and fear stricken body.
Marcus led them to one of the storage units next to the fence, his intentions were to boost the two of them up to the roof and let them get out.. He would try to find his own way out.. but if he didnt.. so be it.
"No.. Mate.... I'm not leaving you behind!" Charlie said in a panic toned, already knowing Marcus plan. The brit stopped and took a look behind him, seeing the dozens of walkers now beginning to crowd in their direction. "Fine.. but find a way out." The Brit told him with a nod
"There's no time for goodbyes." Marcus replied as he crouched down to boost the lad up. Once Charlie pulled himself onto the roof, he held a hand down to help Olivia up.
"Olivia, you've gotta go up, let's go!" Marcus demanded as he crouched to help her up as well. "Once you're up, climb down on the other side and head for that fire escape...ill meet you there." He told her, hoping she could hear him over the blaring sirens. The sound began to carry, alerting walkers deeper into the city. The horde drew in more, and more. The numbers were gathering by the minute, surrounding the three of them completely.

Olivia felt like her was twisting inside out. Why would he make her do this? She didn't want to leave him behind, but it was too late, and he had already began to give her a boost up. Once she was able to, she grabbed Charlie's hand with one of her own and with the other arm, she pulled herself up. From the top of the unit, she looked down at Marcus. It was like everything was placing in slow motion. Then she remembered the pipe that she had been squeezing so tightly that he knuckles were turning white.

"Marcus!" Livy practically yelled, trying to get his attention for one last second, before dropping the jagged pipe. She hoped that it would give Marcus leverage somehow, and that he would make it to the fire escape. She then turned back to Charlie and motioned for him to follow, before she sprung across the unit, then lowered herself onto the top of the fence. Once she climbed down, she yanked her knife out, preparing to kill if she had to.

After Charlie stood by her side, Olivia then began moving again. The fire escape wasn't too far away, but they would have to run like mad if they were gonna make it. "Alright." She whispered. "We can do this." She was not only trying to reassure Charlie, but herself as well. Then she began to run again.

Once the pair had reached the ladder, she turned on her heels and put her hand to her forehead. She was searching for any sign of Marcus. All she could see was movement of the dead, maybe she thought he had already found a different way, but she could only hope.

Charlie watched as Marcus grabbed the pipe Olivia dropped and hurried to another direction. At this point, the poor man's only hope, was to distract the biters as long as he could.

After climbing from the top of the container, to the other side, Charlie rushed Olivia to the fire escape, almost practically pushing her up the ladder. Once they were up high enough, Charlie stopped to catch his breath, his heart rate starting to slow as they rested on the flat railing guarded platform.. The young man gazed out into the streets, barely able to see the ground from all the bodies heading to the unrelenting sound of the sirens. His eyes shifted back to the storage yard, hoping to find Marcus.

-

Jay sighed as he saw the young girl walk up the street beside Riley, as he didn't think she was ready to handle live targets yet. He was afraid the fear might get to her, that she would freeze and get herself hurt. Jay let offs small wave to the girl, greeting her with a smile. As Riley came up next to them, Jay pulled her to the side "Are you sure she's ready?" He asked the redhead in a hushed tone. The last thing he needed was for someone else to get hurt.

-

Sweat beaded down Marcus face as he frantically looked for his next turn through the storage yard. The walkers at the fence were coming in at a quicker rate, pushing the whole open wider so more could fit through. Taking a quick left turn, Marcus found the main office building, a place to take refuge.

The office building was crowded, pushing highway through a few walkers, wasting the remainder of his ammo, he made a hole ton get to the building. Marcus heart raced as he neared the rear window of the building, a few more biters beginning to surround him as he busted the window out, glass shards still dangling from the frame. As he attempted to clear the glass, the biters drew nearer, closing in on the desperate man. Once the window was.clear, Marcus began his climb through. Only, his ankle was seized by one of the walkers he shot before, pulling him to the ground. Marcus could only watch the group close in on his as he kicked the other walker off. Quickly making it to his feet, the elder man shoved a few walkers back, now fighting against the group as they pinned him to the building.

It was the worst feeling.. The sharp digging of the walkers teeth, tearing into Marcus flesh around his shoulder. His scream was muffled by the loud sirens and blood began pouring down his arm. The determined man managed to push the walker off before it got another bite. Now covered in his own blood, Marcus forced himself through the open window, landing roughly in the office building, hitting firmly on the ground. Scooting his back against the opposite wall, Marcus closed his eyes as he felt the warm red liquid pour out of his body. Slowly he became lightheaded, his life slowly flashing before his eyes as the sound of walkers coming through the window filled his ears.

Pictures of his wife, scattered through his memory. His sons, Oliver and Jay, times when they were kids. Happier moments, before the end of the world. Even quock images of his parents, the ones who made him the way he was. The happiest moments of Marcus life played on repeat through his mind through closed eyelids, like a personal documentary ment for only him. Until... it went black.. and there was nothing.

Avalon followed Luna where she lived, as she entered she slowed down before coming to a stop a few feet away. She looked around before she looked Luna in the eyes,"I know you probably don't trust anyone. Especially men as it seems,"She noted on the way she had greeted Mason and Ryder by throwing things at them,"but my people, they are all good people with good hearts and intentions. Yes there will be rules but those rules have kept us alive and running a very functional town... I do wish for you to come with me. Us. But it is your choice."

She then turned and sighed before turning her head,"Thanks for saving my life. And I wish I could stay but there are people who need me..."Avalon looked away as she felt a small tug on her heart,"I can take care of you.. We can all help one another get home. I'd give you a good home with food and warm a bed."

With Ryders help, Mason was able to pack the bullet wound and wrap it well enough to where Ryser would have full range of motion of his arm. Standing both men froze and listened closely. It started soft at first and grew louder. Mason cocked his head questioningly st Ryder.

"Alarm....Someone just tripped an alarm, its gotta be Cole!" Ryder gathered up his things, Mason doing the same as both men prepared to move now with a purpose. Ryder looked down the hallway where Ava had gone down and felt his heart tug. He saw the bandages around her head, andnhe didn't want her in harms way. Every walker and biter in the city would be drawn to the alarm.

Mason saw the look and clapped him on the back. "You hang here with her, I'll go ahead." Ryder nodded reluctantly and before he could say more he was back down the stairs.

---

When Masons feet hit the third floor he grabbed the sawed off shotgun that the dead bandit had used earlier and ran down the last two levels to the ground. Quickly he scanned around, then took off in a sprint.

He had been around the city more than Ryder and knew the alarm was coming from a storage yard 3 miles away. He kept his pace solid as he ran, his MP5 trained looking for threats but found none. He guessed any bandits took cover for fear of the alarm bringing a massive horde to their door step.

Surprisingly he covered the ground in 15 minutes, which was typical for him. During his years operating solo he kept himself in peak physical shape, that way if he had to haul ass and run away he could do so for the duration.

Quickly Mason pressed his back to a wall and peered around a corner towards the fence line. His face paled as he saw the sea of undead two blocks away trying to get through a fence.

Shaking his head he turned and ran into an adjacent building and climbed the stairs to the roof. Once there he walked to the edge and pulled out his binoculars and peered through them. It was at that point he cursed under his breath, watching a man crash through an office window. The undead appeared to crawl through instantly after and he knew the man was a goner.

Then movement caught his eye on the roof and he saw a young man and a woman, a woman he knew running. He quickly flipped his radio on and keyed the Mic, "Mason to Ryder. I didnt find Cole but Olivia is out here!"

---

When Mason took off, Ryder instinctively turned his radio on. Drumming his fingers on his thigh as the minutes ticked by he finally stood and walked down to where Ava was standing. He gently brushed her back with his hand.

"Ava were gonna need to move out soon, I don't want us getting-" Masons voice crackles over the radio. Ryder adjusted the frequency before his voice came back loud and clear. "Ryder this is Mason, I didn't find Cole, but I found a massive horde of biters, and worst of all Olivia is out here!" Ryder heart sank as he just stared at Ava.

Shit just hit the fan..... was all that ran through his mind.

Luna kept her spear aimed at Ava's throat, not letting it even move an inch from her target. The woman didn't seem to care and tried convincing her to follow her back to her home. No place for her. No place for someone like her with people. They didn't want an animal like her roaming around freely and she was sure of that. Her words seemed to be having some effect as the spear started to shake a little. Ava seemed pretty genuine in wanting to take care of her and for her to go with them. Maybe if she stayed with Ava then things would be alright, the woman seemed like a good one who wouldn't throw her to the wolves." You.....care...Luna?...Luna....No alone.....follow...see home..." Luna spoke with pained voice as she began lowering her spear, looking Ava dead in the eye for any falseness.

When Ryder suddenly walked over and started ignoring her presence Luna seemed ticked again. She held her spear up pointed at the man's throat as she let out a weird growl. The man had decided to come over and speak to Ava like she wasn't even there. Now Ava would have to calm her down again with a man present, which wouldn't be easy the second time around.

Avalon had nodded at Luna's words,"Yes that is right.."she smiled softly as she looked Luna dead in the eyes. She was about to say something else when Ryder walked in, she turned towards him,"Jason! Stop where you are.. please.."She said as she held up her hands. She looked over at Luna and gave a soft smile,"this is someone very special to me Luna... someone I trust and you can too.."

She then looked back over hearing the walkie talkie,"Livvy.."She whispered before she turned back towards Luna,"we have to go.. please come with ?"she pleaded a little as she held her hand out to the girl.

Ryder had spoken to Mason to try to help Olivia in any way possible. When he turned he saw the spear pointed at him, but he made no move to grab it, nore did he try to attack with his own weapons.

He looked at Luna, his eyes soft. He had noticed her from the start, but tried to avoid contact since he could tell she really didn't seem comfortable with him being there. When he finally spoke to her, he spoke calmly.

"Im sorry for making you feel uneasy. I can tell you've been hurt a great deal, and for that I'm sorry. Ava is right though. Our community would love to give you a home. We would love to give you a home, somewhere safe where you'll be loved." He closed his eyes for a moment, then looked between her and Ava.

---

"Do what you can to assist Olivia and get her the hell out of there!" Mason clicked his acknowledgement and rushed back down the stairs. He was out the building in a flash as he ran from cover to cover.

He could tell from his vantage point they were heading to the fire escape, and he planned on meeting them there on the othet side of it. When he came arouns the corner he spotted five undead by the exit. Cursing he rushed them when they werent looking and slammed into them.

He hit the ground and quickly performed a kip up and was back on his feet with his knife drawn. Spinning on his heel he caught one biter in the face, his heavy steel toed boot smashing its skull in. Then in quick thrusts he impailed two more. Then he was jumped. He felt the searing pain as his side was dug into by the walkers hand, and he delivered a quick elbow to its face, sending it on its ass. Then the other jumped on him and Mason hit the ground. Before he could think he grabbed the silenced MP5 and smashed the butt of the gun into its head and finished the last off with a silent bullet to the head.

Panting heavily he held up by the exit, clutching his wounded side.

Luna snarled and growled at the man who had dared to enter her home without being invited. She might not seem like it but she greatly valued privacy. Her home was suppose to be a place of no worries and away from things that got on her nerves. Men weren't allowed at all to enter its domain or they died before stepping into the room. This man had the affection of someone she had grown a little close to and that was the only reason her spear wasn't through his neck. Her silvery eyes darted between Ava and this Jason man. Her spear stayed where it had been the whole time as the two of them spoke. Hearing the emotion in Ava's voice told her clearly how she flet for the man. She felt something she had only read about thus far in the books that sat in two corners of the room.

Could she really live with people after becoming an animal? That's what she was and she knew it. You had to do what you must in order to survive and that's what it took for her at least. Hearing their words, words that promised love and safety made the young girl feel weird. Her spear started to shake a little as great internal conflict could be seen behind those silvery orbs. Thoughts went back to what Ava first promised to her, a home, a warm bed, and care along with love. How long had she wanted that before she gave up? Here was something she wanted for so long and she was thinking about turning it away...Anni...would've accepted it in a heartbeat...before the arena...She would've accepted in a heartbeat..

Before she even knew it her spear was pointed at the floor and the girl felt so scared. Trembling Luna reached out her hand very slowly and finally held Avalon's in her own." Luna....go....home...?" She said before letting go and packing what little she had up into a duffle bag. Once it was filled the ashen haired girl picked her spear back up and started walking down the stairs ahead of the others.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Riley smiled down at her little girl as the two walked towards the gate together. She placed a hand on her shoulder to comfort any nerves the girl must be feeling. Practice like this isn't something that will be taken likely. She knew Noah was ready though, she survived out there without them before so she had to know a little bit. Unlike the others getting training Noah had more experience. The redhead reached the gate with Noah by her side to see the man she loved so much. He kept her warm and gave her comfort whenever she wanted or needed it.

Upon reaching him Red kisses him on the lips before listening to what he had to say. The young woman understood his worries, Noah was like her daughter now. No one cared for her like she did. That ment Red wouldn't put her in danger recklessly like a fool." She's ready love. I'll look after her myself if you're worried so much. No harm will come to our little girl." Riley spoke with a hushed voice as she emphasised 'our' to state Noah was theirs.

When Charlie and Olivia reached as high up as they could, she tried to look for Marcus once again. "Please..." she pleaded under her breath as she searched for any sign of the man. She had liked him from the beginning, he was kind and fatherly, something she didn't get to experience much as she grew up. "Please..." she repeated, before turning towards Charlie.

"Do you see him yet?" Olivia questioned as she took a few steps towards the boy and looked him over slightly, checking to make sure that he was okay, or at least appeared to be. She then faced towards the place from which the two had just escaped. "We have to go back." She then said as she shook her head. Guilt was swelling inside of her. The longer they waited and the longer it took for Marcus to show up... if they hadn't left him alone maybe they would all be okay. The unknowing of his condition was eating her alive.
