Aftermath

Post by Wanderlusst » Mon Oct 23, 2017 2:38 pm

Avalon sat in the watch tower. The sun had gone down hours ago, the only thing the glowed was the night sky from the moon shining. Ava covered her mouth to stiffle a yawn, she hadn't slept much thanks to the past month of training to go outside the walls. She and several others were recruited to head outside of the community and gather supplies, they were starting to run low which was never a good thing.

Shifting in her seat a little she leaned forward and scanned the area. Nothing new yet. But she was always prepared for a small horde of zombies or even a lonesome one to come stumbling into her view. Avalon had done this job since her arrival at the community with her father. He helped build things around here or fix them. He was good at that.

A few more hours past before Ava caught right of a few zombies. Loading her bow up with an arrow she aimed and fired. Repeating the motion a few times, she hit her targets everytime. When they all fell down she sat down in her chair again and looked back at the moon, she was excited to get out and see the world again. But also a little scared deep down, she knew people died out there.

Ace wondered just outside the walls. his lance was in hand as protection against anything he comes across. wandering near the watchtower he noticed a couple dead zombies and walked over to them. looking back at the tower he noticed someone in the tower. looking back at the undead now dead he crouched at the bodies and started searching them to see if they have anything useful on them. keeping aware on everything around him as he searched.

"Stay down.." Marcus whispered to his two sons as he crouched behind an abandoned car. Peering around the bumper, the sight of a large group of walkers sent a chill down the man's spine. There were atleast twenty-five walkers in that one group, heading I'm their direction. "Get out of sight." He whispered as the man slid down to the ground and crawled under the car.

Jay glanced over his shoulder at his brother before his eyes returned to his father, who was now crawling under the car. He pushed back against the alleyway wall and slowly slid down to a crouch position. The moon light gave enough visibility for Jay to see the group of walkers heading there way. "Shit.. shit.. we should have just waited till the morning." He whispered as he glanced at Oliver. "What do we do? Should we run?"

Oliver shook his head slowly. "We can't run." Oliver stated. "I don't want to get split up from Dad, it'll be too hard to meet up with him again later." His eyes searched for somewhere to hide. Something to climb. Anything. Aside from a few small trees and insignificant bushes in a park across the street, there wasn't much. Just more cars. "Get under a car, Jay. I'll keep their attention." Oliver ordered

"I'll meet you two back here after I lead them away. If I'm not back by sunrise, keep going." Oliver continued as he took his hatchet from its sheath and made sure his laces were tight.

Jay grabbed his older brothers arm before he finished speaking. "No.. we can't split up. Let's figure out another way." He whispered as he glanced back at his father. It seemed the horde was on either side of the car now, although they didn't notice Marcus underneath. Jay looked around quickly trying find something to distract them. But it seemed Oliver was right, one of them had to lead the horde away. "Fine.. but let me do it." He insisted as he peered around the corner again.

"That's not happening." Oliver argued, rather roughly jerking his little brother away from the corner. "Find a place to hide, now. I'm not arguing with you about this!" Oliver's voice came across as a harsh whisper. It'd be unfortunate to attract the attention of the walkers before he was ready...

"Fine.. be careful." Jay responded as he looked at Oliver for a moment. He turned away from his brother and slid under a nearby car, pressing himself against the ground. He looked across the street at his dad under the adjacent car. He was hoping his brother could lead the crowd away before they noticed the two under the vehicles.

It was just another uneventful night walking around the community. Riley was tired of these sleepless nights for her, she couldn't stand being in that house all by herself either. So she had taken up to walking around the community like most nights. The red head couldn't wait to get out there and face those damned things. She had to make them pay for taking the ones she loved, they had been destroyed. Twirling the bat in her hands Riley past the gate to their little community. So much anger and no way to get rid of it, no one to talk to about it, no one to just be there to help her deal with it. To make that matter worse she had a pretty large house all to herself. Five bedrooms and four bathrooms, what made the leader of this place think that she should be all alone in it?

Nothing to do about it for now. Riley sighed rather loudly as she continued her little walk to make herself tired. Maybe she'd use her bat on a few of the dummies they set up for training? No one would mind if they were beaten up a little, or more likely turned into a pile of scrap. It just...be so much better if she wasn't all alone, if most of the community looked at her with pity. Pity for watching her family die twice.

with a sigh ace didn't find anything on the bodies. pulling the arrows from the bodies ace walked back towards the gate. noticing it was close he whistled to see if he can get anyone's attention. turning around he scanned his eyes through the darkness for any signs of movement. whistling again he turned back towards the gate still holding the arrows.

Ava kept herself entertained by a book she had found in the house her and her Father occupied. As she leaned her feet up on the edge of the watch tower, she flipped through the pages after she read them slowly. Ava only stopped once in awhile to check her area out before returning to the book. As the hours started to tick by her eyelids became a bit heavy, but she pushed through it like she always did.
