With his back turned to the others, Jordan mixed together his drink, filling up one of the red solo cups that someone had so graciously supplied. He brought it up to his lips, allowing the cool liquid to run down his throat. It wasn't amazing, but he knew that it would help calm his nerves. He turned back around and took in the cliques of people that were scattered around the living room area. Their faces were familiar and he knew most of their names, but he would hardly consider them friends. That alone made it difficult for him to approach anyone.

Fortunately, a sudden need to check something out arose, causing most to break off and head down the hallway after Rion. He lingered after the group as well, keeping to himself and staying in the background as they entered the new room. They seemed to huddle around a specific area, speaking amongst themselves excitedly. Jordan only needed to peak over some shoulders to see the tunnel downwards, leading into a dark abyss. A chill ran up his spine and his stomach instantly filled with dread. They couldn't be serious, could they?

He was about to offer his flashlight, the one thing he had packed specifically for this party, but Iris beat him to the punch with her phone. Instead, he observed the others and their apparent enthusiasm to descend into the mystery hole. They really were crazy... or maybe he just hadn't had enough to drink. Without much thought, Jordan downed the rest of his drink, knowing that if they did decide to go down, he'd need some liquid courage.

Allyra smiles at Ray as she smells his "Herbal rejuvenation" He looked chill, She takes a deep breath and looks up at the sky before looking back at him. "We should go back inside the party is just starting and I don't think you'd want to miss anything fun or important now would you?" She says softly and puts her hands in her back pockets looking at the sky again and drifting into her thoughts. Her smile slowly falls to a frown as she gets lost in her thoughts, she shakes her head to clear it. She looks at Ray one last time before turning to make her way back to the house for the party, she didn't want to miss any of the fun.

Ray let out a small puff of air in response, nodding slightly as he flicked the white paper into the distance. "Right, on my way." Ray answered. He'd given himself enough time to relax and collect himself, and he was plenty high enough to interact now. With red eyes and newfound sense of ambiguity towards the whole situation, Raymond strolled up the stairs and into house.

Once inside, a strange feeling began to emerse itself just under Ray's skin, as if he had goosebumps in the opposite direction. Along with it, a strong pull could be felt, drawing Raymond down the hallway where Rion had just called out for the others. Without much thought Ray turned and slowly stepped towards the hall, brushing by the others as he did so. As he got close, a voice could be heard calling out to Raymond, one unfamiliar to his ears. "Raymond...Raayymoond." The voice called out, reaching for the curiosity of the young man. With a quick glance Ray checked the people next to him, seeing if they reacted to the voice as well. Not at all. It seemed he probably had too much to smoke. But there it was again..beckoning for his presence. Raymond...Raaayymoond."

Ray stopped as he reached the same room as the others. The room was fairly crowded, several of them gathered around an old trunk. Raymond raised an eyebrow as he stepped into the room, the draw of curiousity growing stronger with every advancing inch. "What is this?" Raymond asked amongst them with an intrigued yet serious look on his face. Ray took a few more steps forward, wedging himself by the ones standing directly infeont of the trunk. Now he was the one in front. With both hands he grabbed the side of the chest and peered forward, a ladder with a dark entrance coming into view. As he leaned forward, the draw got stronger a feeling that was now surging through his whole body. What was this? Raymond had to know.

Ray's eyes turned up slightly to look at Iris, who issued a playful challenge to Corinna of a ravce down the ladder. At this time, Ray also clicked on the flashlight of his phone, shining it down the hole. "No." He spoke up. "I'll go first." Of course it wasn't a suggestion. Sticking true to himself, Ray wanted to dive right in head first, the ominous calling only intisifying the need to find out what it was. With a large step over the edge Raymond lightlt nudged by Iris and slid down onto the ladder, making his way down to the bottom.

As soon as Ray hit the bottom, Lark looked over at the others, her gaze stopped on her brother before dropping down the ladder where the other boy had went down, she wasn't expecting that from Raymond, but again, she didn't really know the boy well enough. Without another word, she swung her own leg over the edge,"See you on other side??"she grinned at Cori before she turned herself around and began to head down the ladder, as she got to the bottom of it, her eyes adjusted slightly to the darkness, however, the feeling of wanting to be down here, of a presence or some sort of energy pulling at her enhance, she glanced around as she took a step back before she called up,"Who's next?!"

As Lark's voice travelled up the tunnel, Jay felt the knot in his stomach tighten a little, he knew he couldn't stay up here while Lark and Ray were down there,"Guess I'm next,"he muttered as he brought himself over and onto the ladder, once he had a good hold on it, he began to descend down the ladder slowly.

Jayson felt how own inner battle of wanting to be down here and wanting to stay up there start as he went down, however, he knew going back up would be a mistake, if anything were to happen to his own sister or his best friend, he wouldn't know how to live with himself.

Allyra lets out a small gasp as Ray, Lark and Jay disappear down the opening. She sighs. "I guess I'll go next, it can't be that bad can it?" She says to reassure herself before sliding one leg over and turning to get in a good position she moves down the ladder quickly before touching the bottom she sneezes but continues. "Alright who's next?" She calls up and moves out of the way to stand next to Lark. She looks around and sees dust, she lets out another sneeze before pulling her shirt up to cover her nose. "Gosh its so dusty." She murmurs still waiting to see who'll be brave enough to come down next, Ray was pretty brave going down first not knowing what the hell was down there anyway.

Bob knew that this was a stupid thing to do. There was no reason why he would go down a ladder that was in a chest in an abandoned house. He didn't want to impress these nobodies, they offered little in regards to either reputation or usefulness. He had what he came here for, he could just keep his mouth shut and disappear. It probably wouldn't be very hard. Hell, he KNEW that it wouldn't be very hard. These druggies all were naturally repelled by his overbearing persona and probably would relish him leaving. All these facts and just basic common sense were all urging him to walk out, now.

So why was he walking towards the ladder?

"I'm next!" Bob shouted as he got onto the ladder and slid down as fast as he could. Wait! No, he didn't want to do this, he wanted to LEA-hfakfkdnfanfjsandljasdlfjkdfasdkfnfbeflgnsld He wanted to stay. That's right, what if these idiots stumbled across something valuable down here? He would be an absolute sham of a con artist if he returned home with just a few meager gold coins. That's right, he had to follow them for the sake of the treasure.

"You know, the doc's usually advise protection when going down a dark, unknown hole! Am i right fellas!" He held his hand up for a high five that he knew was not gonna come.

Corinna smirked at Iris’ challenge but then watched in almost disbelief as Ray appeared and decided to be the first one down. He didn’t say anything to her, so she assumed maybe he was no longer angry, however, she decided that it would be best if she kept her distance for now. The next person Corinna watched go down the ladder was Lark, she let out a short snort of a laugh at the remark before watching her friend’s head disappear over the lip of the trunk. She figured Jayson would be the next one down and was not at all shocked when he was in fact the next one climbing down. It was sort of like a domino effect; once the first person took the initial “leap” in to the dark, everyone slowly seemed to be going down, which oddly seemed to feel almost right.

Corinna turned to look back at Rion and shrugged a bit. “Am I first, or you?” She asked her brother while raising a brow pointedly at him, which in turn lead to a reluctant stance and slight tilt of the head from her brother.

“Are you serious? It’s already dangerous enough being here. Do you know how much trouble we could get in for trespassing? Besides who knows what’s do-“ But before Rion could finish his thought Corinna turned and slung herself over the top of the trunk and took hold of the ladder before climbing down.

Rion, after taking a moment to process, rushed to the side of the trunk and stared down in to it, watching the outline of his sister move in the darkness, until he could no longer make out her fiery red hair. “Rinna?” He called out below, a clear anxious tone bouncing down the walls of the tunnel.

“Rion I’m fine. Come on!” Corinna called back up after a moment. She wanted to give him just a little bit of a scare before responding. Sometimes getting someone’s heart racing could be a good thing. She giggled to herself as she turned to face the small group that had already found their way down the ladder. “Well, it is no fancy corridor, but it doesn’t seem as bad as it could have been.” She shrugged as she herself took her own phone out and turned on her own flashlight. The next thing Corinna did was loop her thumb through the strap of her backpack, and then she took a few steps forward in order to get out of the way of the bottom of the ladder.

Rion was the next person down the ladder, only being a minute or so behind his sister. While Corinna seemed excited and in a very adventurous mood, Rion was quiet the opposite. He was very quiet and obviously uncomfortable at this point. He, much like Jay, had gone down in order to look out for his sibling, and now he was slightly regretting it, yet there was also something calling out to him and telling him to keep going. It was an odd sensation he had never experienced before which made him all the more nervous, but something inside of him was screaming to continue down the passageway that they had just uncovered.

Once the remaining members managed to make their way down the ladder Corinna looked between everyone, trying to read their faces as best as she could. Some of them were excited, much like herself, then there were some who seemed anxious or concerned. She quickly shrugged it off though and turned to face the opposite direction of the ladder. Something was at the end of this passage and she was going to find out just what it was. “Well…” She said slowly, pausing for a moment after speaking before she began to walk with a slight bounce in her step. The faster they reached the end of wherever this lead, the faster they found out what was down here.

It took a few minutes of walking before it felt like any progress had been made. If it had gone on much longer Corinna could have been convinced that it was just an endless loop. The dark cool walls all looked exactly the same so there would be no way of her proving that it had been just one giant circle. Luckily there didn’t seem to be any bats, and if there were any bugs she wasn’t seeing or noticing them. It seemed that most of the group was taking everything in, as they were silent for the majority of the walk; this all changed though, once the outline of a door came in to view.

A light glow seemed to seep through the cracks of the door, which caused a nervous grin to spread across Corinna’s face. How was there a light source down here since it appeared that this area hadn’t been used in many many years? She stopped a few feet from the door and took a look back over her shoulder at the rest of the group once again. She supposed as the front runner of the group she should probably be the one to open the door, of course she didn’t exactly give anyone else the chance to lead… Once again, she shrugged it off and turned back to the door. Slowly she reached out to the door knob, her heart was pounding and it seemed the only thing she could hear was the blood pumping through her body. She almost felt as if there was a power vibrating off the door, and as soon as her fingers wrapped around the doorknob the door slammed open causing Corinna to yelp and leap back. She looked wide-eyed at the person she bumped in to before shaking her head and giving a nervous laugh. “Sorry.” She offered a sheepish grin while straightening herself back up.

“What happened?” Rion asked as his eyes bounced from Corinna to the door.

“I don’t know… It must have been the wind or something.” Corinna stated, looking for some kind of explaination.

“Wind? What wind?” Rion scoffed as he rolled his eyes, he now began to think that Corinna had either planned this whole thing or was at least trying to scare people by shoving the door open.

Corinna squinted her eyes at her brother, before she spun on her heels and marched right through the doorway. She then quickly stopped in her tracks though once she made it a few feet in to the room.

This room was rather large for being some kind of hidden underground bunker. In the center of the room there was a table that seemed way larger than a regular dining table, it also appeared to some sort of clips attach at each of the four corners. In one corner of the room their seemed to be many sets of shelves with jars containing various powders, liquids, crystals, and some of them containing what looked like small insects in some kind of goo or liquid. Directly next to the shelves was another table that seemed to hold different sized empty jars, bowls, and even two mortar and pestles. Then, in the next corner there seemed to be some chairs and a bookshelf with a few books and trinkets. In the area immediately left of the door that the group came in there appeared to be an area with different blades and weapons, and finally in the corner directly right of the doorway was one more table that had shelves connecting to the top of it. On these top shelves there seemed to be small creatures that would not be recognizable to anyone. It almost seemed like this whole thing was out of a movie.

“Jeez, we were worried and it turns out it was just some sort of crackhead living here…” Rion said dully after he too entered and had a moment to look around. This statement was formed after he pulled a piece of paper that was attached to the wall off and turned it to show the group. On the paper was some very strange sketch of a creature with red eyes and a black scribbly body. “And look, that for sure has to be some kind of drug stuff. Right?” He said as he gestured to the back-left corner of the room that contained the shelves with the powders and liquids.

Corinna pulled her head back and snorted. “Why are you looking at me?” She asked as she crossed her arms. This caused Rion to glare at her before he shook his head and moved to the area between the weaponry and the “drug” station. Here stood a large shelve that seemed to be built in to the wall. It almost looked like a wine storage, however each of the squares was slightly bigger and inside most of the squares was a rolled-up piece of paper. Rion placed a finger on his chin and slowly moved along, looking at the labels below each of the maps, however none of the labels seemed to make any sense to him. When he reached the very last rolled paper, he carefully pulled it out and was a bit taken aback by how long it was since it had seemed much shorter in the cubby. He turned slowly, looking around the room before his eyes drifted towards the table. “Maybe…” He mumbled before moving to the large table and setting the rolled-up paper down. He clipped the two edges that were poking out down and then proceeded to spread it across the table until he could pin the remaining two corners down.

“Oh sick! Is that like a map?” Corinna asked as she plopped her elbows down on the table and placed her chin on the palm of her hand. “What is it a map of?” She asked as she furrowed her brow. She looked over at her brother as he seemed to be pondering over the map.

“I… I have absolutely no idea.” Rion replied. He was dumb founded. Sure he wasn’t the absolute smartest person in the world, but he got pretty good grades in school, and he had never seen any map that looked like this in his history or geography classes. He sighed and leaned forward on to his hands, the map, while it looked like it had been made in the past couple decades, he didn’t recognize any landmarks that seemed to be indicated across it.

Corinna too was examining the map, just not as intensely as her brother. She didn’t know where it was, and it certainly wasn’t anywhere are her, so it honestly wasn’t that interesting or important to her. She had just begun to straighten up to look around some more when a sudden glint of light caught her eye as she moved. She paused for a second and repeated the motion she had just done slowly in order to pinpoint exactly where the light had come from. The room that they currently stood in was illuminated by some kind of lanterns and the light was not too bright, the light that caught her eye was an almost golden hued light that seemed to glow. It didn’t take long for her to locate the source and curiously pushed off of the table with an exaggerated step around the wooden furniture.

Directly behind Rion was a bookshelf, however it was different from the ones that were sitting in what could be assumed to be a reading nook. This bookshelf was rather ornate, with carvings running all along the face of the bookshelf, and with a fancy cutout on the very bottom of the bookcase, which is where the beam of light was poking through.

“Hey, help me move this.” Corinna commanded as she made a motion with her hand to Rion. As soon as her fingertips touched the bookshelf Corinna’s blood began to furiously pulse through her ears again and the soft vibration that she had felt before was stronger. This was what she was meant to be doing, she felt it deep within her soul. The bookshelf was lighter than it originally appeared and very soon it was pushed aside to reveal a door.

“Another door?” Rion moaned as he rubbed the palm of his hand across his forehead while applying a slight pressure. He was about to suggest turning back and just going to the bowling alley or something when he stopped. He suddenly felt as though a rope was side of him and something on the other side of the door was pulling on the rope. “Fine, fine!” He stated under his breath before he moved forward, this time he was the one to open the door, and once he did, both his and Corinna’s mouth fell open in sync.

Beyond the door was a fairly smaller room. All along the walls of this room were bookshelves that appeared to be the walls themselves, and on the bookshelves were various books, some with no titles, some had titles scratched in to the spines, however none of these books were ones that had ever been published or mass produced, in fact they were all “homemade” by the same person, which could be discovered by comparing the way the letters were etched on the spine of some of the books. This room itself did not appear to have any sort of light source like the last room; instead this room had a golden hued glow all throughout it that seemed to be coming from everywhere and nowhere at the same time. The thing that would immediately draw everyone’s eyes though was the book that sat on a pedestal in the middle of the room. This book was clearly made out of the same red leather as the trunk that the group had climbed through and had a strap with a latch that had some type of gold buckle on it. There was no way to quite place why, but this book felt important.

“Where are we?” Corinna asked with a laugh, clearly bewildered as she stepped in to the room. “I feel like I’m tripping hardcore right now.” She said as she did a slow turn, taking in everything yet processing nothing. Once she reached the back of the room, she turned and approached the pedestal that stood in the center. Before she could think she immediately reached for the latch on the book to open it, but before her fingers could get close Rion grabbed her wrist and pulled her hand back. “Hey!” She exclaimed as a retort to her brother’s action.

“Cor I don’t know, don’t you think, I don’t know… that its really fucking weird to find some mysterious book in a GLOWING room?” Rion asked, bewildered at his sister’s complete carelessness.

“Rion, you said it yourself! This is probably just some crackhead’s junk, chill okay?” She said as she pulled her wrist free.

Rion went to argue, but his attention was pulled back to the book as Corinna undid the buckle and removed the latch from the book. Slowly she pulled it open to reveal pages full of writing. It was hard to discern as the person who wrote in it had decently bad handwriting. Slowly she flipped through the pages, quickly scanning through the pages. Sometimes different drawing of some sort of creatures would appear or diagrams of different plants, gems, etc. The vibrating in Corinna’s fingers gradually began to get stronger and stronger until she flipped to a certain page. Something inside of her told her this is what she was here for, and the words themselves definitely didn’t disappoint. The whole time Corinna had been flipping, she left the book on the pedestal so that everyone else could come close and see what was going on, and when she got to that certain page, she stopped and looked up at everyone, before reading the heading on the page aloud. “How to Get to the Other Side.”

“What do you think “the Other Side” is?” Rion asked, leaning forward. “It looks like its directions… some kind of chant or something…” He said before straightening up. “I think its time to go… this is a little to cultish to me now…” He said hesitantly as he looked from each group member, his eyes landing on Corinna last.

“What? No! Lets do it! I mean we came to get scared and have fun. Clearly, we are the only ones who have been down here for years, I mean what harm could it possibly do?” She exclaimed, before she scooped the book up and began to read over the instructions. “And look, we don’t even need candles or a blood sacrifice, so its not like it is a satanic ritual or anything!” She laughed before turning towards Rion and clicking her tongue. “Let’s just do it… unless you’re scared.” And with this she cut challenging eyes at her brother before looking for approval from the rest of the group. “Who’s with me? Yall aren’t gonna make me do it alone, are you?” She said before giving puppy dog eyes towards the group, lingering for a moment on each person before sliding her eyes towards the next.

Rion sighed. Part of him was dying to leave the house entirely, but the other part of him was demanding that he stayed. He needed to make sure Corinna was okay. He was her older brother, and it was his job to protect her and make sure that she didn’t get hurt. So, if she was going to be stubborn and not leave after his plea, he knew he had to stay to make sure she was fine and that she didn’t get hurt or break anything. “Fine. I’ll do it. But only once, and then we are leaving.” He stated with a most serious tone.

"Yay!" Corinna squealed with an excited jump. "Come on!" She wasn't going to force anyone to stay, but something about this felt right to her. She needed to do this, even if nobody else would.

As soon as Rion went after his sister Iris quickly followed, slightly upset that everyone else just poured past her. Her book bag slightly scraping the wall as she made it down and turned, her phone shoved down into her back pocket once more. “Jordan! Marina!” She had called up, hoping the two of them would also come- but before she had known it her feet were once again moving down the long and tight hallway. It seemed a bit eerie, and Iris almost felt as if she were on something- which she had been clean from drugs for about six months now, never taking anything hardcore, but weed began making her gain as well as become depressed, no longer taking away the fears. Her right hand lifted, gliding her fingers across the wall. Her mind seemed to get hazy as she followed deeper into the basement. Her eyes glanced at the small canisters on the wall, the jars filled with different things. Iris’s fingers once again grazing the top of something unfamiliar.... “this is cool- never mind... definitely gross, totally gross!” She gagged, one jar seeming to hold some sort of jelly and a small animal inside, a fetus perhaps...?

Watching as Rion moved the bookcase Iris had followed Corinna inside, having now caught up. “Oh come on Rion, take a chance.” Iris cooed, her face lighting up as she smiled. Iris had never really been friends with Rion, he had always just been Corinna’s brother, but something wanted to make him stay to drawl him closer. Now wrapping her arms around Corinna, she looked down at the book, watching as her friend looked at the page once more. “Let’s do it Red.” Iris muttered into her ear softly, the title of it drawing her mind in. The Other Side could it be the place she could escape her reality..? It was a bit hard to think clearly, to look for the others, her mind only able to focus on this book and the ones closest to it.

Jayson watched from the side as everyone else came down, he was glad that they were all in this together, whether anything was really down here or not. The basement, if you could call it that, was cold and damp, as they shuffled through the hallways, following Corinna, he began to feel a warm sensation grow in his chest, one that grew with every step. As they came to stand outside an old, wooden door, he stopped behind Corinna, the feeling grew intense in that moment, Jay leaned forward as Cori put her hand on the door knob - however just than the door flew open, making the girl jump back into him.

Jayson tore his eyes away from the room that seemed to give him a feeling he couldn't quite explain, he looked down at Corinna and smirked a little,"Don't worry about it.." Jayson liked being close to Corinna, she was warm and inviting.. his eyebrows pulled together as he realized the room gave him almost the same feeling Corinna did, but with her it was much more different than just a simple room, and complicated.

He tore his eyes away from the redhead as they entered the room, however he stayed back as the others entered and began to explore, Jay was here purely to make sure that no one, especially Lark, got into any trouble, however he could only contain his curiosity for so long as the other two siblings of the group, began to speak about a book.

Rion, refused to open it, or mess with it, Jay glanced over at the others as Corinna begged them to read it with her. He shifted from foot to foot, but when her eyes landed on him - Jayson was hooked, he nodded slowly, surprised that he would be doing anything.

Lark who had followed the others towards the room that had drew the first few had been examining the shelves with the powders and liquids, she leaned closer into one to get a better look, what were these? She wondered, she glanced over her shoulder to see the others were speaking about something, as she turned back to the shelf, she quickly swiped a bottle.

Did ghosts haunt those who stole from them? She wondered as she turned the bottle over in her hands, it was small vile filled with a red liquis. She wasn't sure what it was, but she was hoping the next time Jay and her went out of town, she would find out.

As she shoved it into her sweater pocket, she turned on her heels and nodded towards where Corinna stood over the book,"I'll read it with you too, what's the worse that can happen?"she asked as she stepped over to them, she leaned over to get a better look at the dusty book,"Come on, what are the rest of yous waiting for? We came this far,"she smirked a little as she glanced up.

Allyra looks at Corinna with a small smile on her lips. "I'm in This should be fun...although if it gives instructions on how to get to the "other side" does it also give instructions to get back here?" She asks chuckling nervously. She takes a small step and stands closer to Bob. She felt safe when she was able to hide behind a person taller than herself. She doesn't look at anyone else in the group, her eyes are drawn to the book and she feels drawn to it like she has to read it like it's the right thing to do. "I will read it with you, also Lark don't say what's the worst that can happen in a situation like this, something bad always happens when someone says that" She says still looking at the book. She moves to stand closer to Corinna and Lark, She looks up to look at her group of friends. "If this fails and we get disappointed, I am going to cry... also I might also deep clean this house, it's so dusty." She says to break the tension with a small joke. She then puts on a confident smile and waits for the others to decide if they're going to join or not.
