As Aeylnn is taking a few moments to search the body of the man she just killed, a bright burst appears in the eastern sky near the castle. Another person came from the shadows near where Aelynn was crouched over the dead mercenary. The dark sylvan woman as she entered the light held one finger to her lips from her right hand, and held out Aeylnn's dagger that missed handle first in her left. She smelled sweet, and her presence wasn't there a moment ago. Out of all the horrible smells in the air around them, hers was overpowering. The smell of heather, and field thistle drowned out all the smells around. As she handed off Aelynn's dagger, she just smiled retreating back into the shadows. Not the smells one would expect from a dark sylvan. She smelled of things from the surface, but this woman was different from Liandril. Her presence was not as intimidating, but more kind. After a quick search of the mans body. Aelynn unfortunately came up with nothing that would lead to who were their employers. She did however find a small pouch with 4 gold, and 27 silver in it. She would also gain 7 additional arrows, and a well made long sword.

Back over at the grate in the street to the sewers, where Alain and Hawke are trying to open. Shortly after the blue flash in the eastern sky, the rooftops became alive with movement. Where once they were still with barely any movement, now alight with shadows moving from roof to roof. Soon bodies are seen falling from the roofs as these shadows move across. The archers that once rained down death from above, now rain down dead to the ground. The shadows streak across the rooftops eastward towards the gate, and leave dead bodies in their wake. At first glance it would look like they were just killing the enemy, but at a closer look, they are carving a safe path to the east gate. The sounds of fighting, and screams of agony not from the ground, but rather from the roofs now echo through the burning city. Guards flood into the street, and begin to assist any wounded they can save. The guard leading them appears to be the same guard Liandril talked to the night before. He is ordering his men to ignore everything else, and save who they can. To take them to the east gate, and to use force in needed.

(Earlier at the east gate) Liandril is there shouting orders to her troops in dark sylvan. At first when her presence was made known, the guards of the city treated her as if she was there with the attackers. Several of them tried to kill her without even allowing her to explain herself, but to their surprise one of their lieutenants stepped in to defend her. Walter had stopped them from committing suicide, though Liandril had not given any who attacked her fatal wounds. Walter looking dreadful, and like all hope had drained from him as he looked back at the burning city. Then tears welled up in his eyes when he heard a small voice from behind Liandril. "Papa!" He spins as Liandril steps to the side, and a little girl rushes to hug her papa. His tear filled face looks up at Liandril. He then says, "How? Why?" Liandril smiles and says. "You should not ask to many questions, but rather just accept the good graces you are given." Walter jumps up and hugs Liandril. Her face turns to one of shock, and almost to anger. It however subsides as she says. "I have killed males for less than simply touching me. However today I am feeling generous, and will let you live. Now I have opened passage in the city. Get back in there, and rally all loyal to the crown. Have them get anyone they can to this location. I have priests to heal the wounded, and have passage to a safe location. So feel like giving me a hand?" Walter backs up saying "Sorry for my emotional outburst. Aye you have my sword, and I will gather all I can to help. If any attack you again...kill them." He leans down to his daughter. "Stay here with the nice dark sylvan lady. Papa has to go help more people. I will be back." With tears in her eyes she nods slowly. He gets up and rushes back into the city.

Right as he passes back through the gate he sees the blue flare. He suddenly stops and says. "What in the hells was that? It just came from the castle." Liandril says, "That would be our white knight. Our man on the inside. That signal means he has the princess, and she is alive. You best get moving. Time is running out, and my forces are limited." Walter nods, and takes off running again.

Moon inspects the bodies of the soldiers, seeing the handiwork of an assassin or a group of soldiers. Moon quietly gulps as she knows what is at stake here, someone from somewhere has deep either has pockets to afford to violate the lives here, to have everyone killed and to show no mercy of any sort, or the occupying force is indeed a military force that used a infiltration tactic. Moon was disgusted thus far, seeing that people would kill women and children, showing no mercy of the kind was by far a greater sin than humanity deserved. She hated humans for what they’ve done to her, but she wouldn’t want to wish this upon anyone… until now.

She takes a few moments to gather herself and looks at the bodies of the soldiers, while taking note of the sound of metal being moved. She says a prayer for them, hoping that they will find peace in the afterlife, and that their souls will not be lost by this tragedy. Moon checks the bodies for any useful items while apologizing to them, that she might need something to save a life at least in this dying city.

Using her scythe, she cuts off a piece of clothing to bring it with, cutting it into strips to put them in the cobblestone walls so she can find her way back without difficulty. Occasionally she stops to check if anyone is following or to see what is ahead of her, being careful not to get herself killed. Finding a few dead ends and back tracking a couple times to press on. If Moon was to engage in combat within the sewers, she would have a huge advantage due to her size, sense the sewers are cramp.

A few moments later, Moon hears the fighting above get intense, as if a third faction has engaged in the fighting. Pausing for a moment, she wonders if it is a sign of hope to the lost city. She climbs the walls to look though a grate and sees Liandril shouting orders out to what looks like her soldiers. She recoils a little, think that it would be best not to be spotted, but she stopped herself, and just peers up at Liandril, wondering what her response would be if Moon made herself known to her.

Alain was cut off by the woman and honestly, didn't care much, it was just him trying to remember his manners. He then stood quietly until the man who just entered the bar suggested the sewers. "Screw it, better than dying." He yelled as he followed the two out of the tavern that had just caught fire.

Alain followed behind, trying really hard to make as little noise as he could manage. When the leader of the group stopped and raised his hand to signal a stop Alain drew his sword incase they were in for a fight. He heard the sound of an impact and a gargling noise from around the corner. The group then continued along the crossover before getting to a sewer grate. When he's asked to help Alain sheaths his blade and begins to help lift the lid off. He then noticed the "redhead" throw both her dagger's at a man in armor, 1 missing and the other hitting him straight in the eye. As the grate came off, he looked back just in time to see that dark elf from the tavern slip back into the darkness.

Image Everything was going by pretty quickly and she was having a hard time processing everything and figure out what exactly was going on. The man, William, didn't even seem to know why everything was happening, but it seemed they were ready for something. She would have to find that out later. She looked at the arrow in his back. Some unknown man had come to save her, even take an arrow for her. But why? She watched in awe as he seemed to cast a spell of some sort, and was caught off guard when he mentioned something about 'flying medicine'. Flying medicine? What? Before she could really say anything, she was picked up and they went out the window, which caused her to hold onto him and close her eyes tightly.

The next thing she knew, there was loud crashing and they stopped. She opened her eyes and looked to him, scrambling up a bit, worried when she realized he had gotten really hurt. "I...I'm sorry..!" she apologized quickly, sniffling a little. "I..I'm alright.." She looked down at the cloak a little. He was right, she wasn't exactly in the attire for running. At least the dress wasn't too restrictive. She was picked up again, looking up to him. She looked around at the bodies, Who would do something so terrible? why would anyone want to kill so many people? She looked to him again when he went down, worried about him. She noticed the four women coming up. She had never seen anyone like them before. She had to admit, though, they were pretty.

She looked from them to him, "M...Mr William...?" she noticed him go limp, and the two people start to run off with him and talking in another language. She looked to the other two who were with her. "I...Is he going to be ok...?"

With a grunt of effort, the rusted metal grate finally snapped off it’s hinges, the way to the sewers looming drearily before them. And damn, did it smell bad. Not as bad as the Smelly Man, but bad enough to make one have second thoughts. No turning back now. Hawke nodded to Alain in appreciation for the help, before seeing a luminous blue, light the sky. The colour reflected off the narrowed gold of his eyes, Hawke’s jaw clenching slightly. The light was obviously a flare of some sort and he could only guess that it belonged to the enemy....

....or did it? It originated from the East and from what the Redhead had said previously, the East was supposed to be a safe zone. Hawke climbed out of the gutter to get a better look, the light from the flare brightening their surrounding area. He could also see multiple bodies moving throughout the rooftops, a battle between two forces taking place. It was hard to tell which side was winning, and even more difficult to predict whether or not the new force was loyal to the royal family. Too many unknowns for his liking.

“We should escape while we can,” he said, looking over to the Redhead and Alain. It was then that he noticed that Aelynn was standing over a dead body, a pool of blood puddled underneath the unlucky bastard. She must’ve taken care of the threat when they were busy with the grate. He had been too distracted by the flare and the rooftop battle, to notice the retreating Dark Sylvan that had interacted with Aelynn only moments before. But he could tell that she had been looking at something, or rather, someone that was not there anymore. “What is it,” he asked, the grip on his daggers becoming just a little tighter.

The two dark sylvan that remained with princess Celia looked at each other, after princess Celia spoke. They then looked back at Celia. The one managed a couple words, "Come...help...Liandril". Though the response is not much to go one, and least of all what she asked. The other who remains silent takes off her cloak, and wraps it over Celia. It provides far better coverage than the tattered cloak William had covered her with. Her cloak has a hood cover with a face mask clasp. It is extremely light, and flows easily. The inside liner shimmers in the light of the day, and it is far cooler than one would expect. The women keep looking to the rooftops as they coax Celia to move with them. The woman who gave Celia her cloak does not appear to be carrying any weapons, but her gloves look to have tiny ridges of metal that poke through them. The ridges are about an inch long, and form long patterns across her hands. Her clothing is loose fitting, and almost hangs off of her. She looks almost like she is wearing a dancers costume. The other woman brandishes a rapier on her belt, and two small hand crossbows hanging inside her cloak. They are leading her the direction that the other two women took William. The noise within the city has reached its peak, but the cries of agony in the streets has slowly begun to subside. It is now replaced by cries of agony from the rooftops.

When Liandril gives the last of the orders to her troops, she stops for a moment in silence. She closes her eyes taking a couple deep breaths, but then suddenly looks down straight at Moon. She then says, "How long do you plan on staying down there? Perhaps you like bathing in human feces. I do not have time for little skulking spies. If you can walk make yourself useful, or stay in the sewers to be considered an enemy spy." Her attention suddenly diverts to a group of two carrying a third. She quickly darts their direction, and harshly speaks dark sylvan. The two carrying the third rush to one of the wagons. The small glimpse Moon catches of the three gives way to an image she saw before in the castle. The two dark sylvan are carrying the man she met on the upper floors. The one that told her it was not safe. The energy that flowed around him was weak, and barely visible now. However the demeanor of the woman who spoke so harshly, was hardly harsh at all. In fact it showed genuine concern, and worry. She shouts to some of the other dark sylvan there, and they rush to her side. She then begins to rapidly stride back into the city, and slowly pulls two daggers from their sheaths.

Curan didn't usually leave the safety of the depths of the forest unless he had too but today was a different story. He didn't completely understand the specifics of what was so special about the day for the humans and the others who chose to live amongst them. However he had come to realize that on this day every year there always seemed to be a lot of commotion. Guards were fewer in numbers and those you could find seemed to not really be all that concerned with taking their duties seriously. On top of that the food that everyone was preparing was always better as if there was some sort of requirement that everyone had to make the best meals they could. They also always had there best wines, ales, and meads pulled out and ready to drink. Then there was all the sweets. He never saw as much sweets as he did at this time every year. So while everyone else was busy enjoying their special day he was going around and collecting his own samples of whatever he thought seemed like the most tempting items that had been left out. Of course he only would take things from the families that he had come to realise were the most well off but even then he always came away with more then enough.

After enjoying a few choice morsels he took the rest of his hall back into the first a short ways to where he had left Morthril. His old companion wasn't far from the village but he was far enough away so that no from the village would realize he was there. However he was still close enough for Curan to call him if he had a reason to do so. He quickly placed his hall into one of the saddlebags on the dire wolves side and then he began to pick up the different bags that he had left leaning against a tree nearby. After strapping on the large rucksack he then took his two shoulderbags and hung them so they crisscrossed over his chest. Finally he gathered up four large bundles of furs one bundle was under each of his arms and then each hand carried a bundle that was bound by leather that was equipped with a hand hold. Even as burdened as he was it didn't take him long at all to make it back to the village.

After his jaunt back to the village he went strait to the local tavern. He had been wanting to try having a drinking contest with Malique and knew that it would get costly. So he had loaded up on dress meats and fish to offer to the taverns owner in trade for the Sri 2nd that they would need. He just hoped that she would be in the bar or at least heading there soon since he hadn't exactly planned this situation with her knowledge. He planned to sell or trade his furs and other items a little bit later on but that wasn't his main focus right now so he wasn't really to worried with that at the moment. It didn't take him long to get to the tavern and once he did he wasn't surprised to see that their was a large amount of activity going on in the establishment. The hunters, trappers, fishermen, and others who worked in the forest or by traveling the roads would always stop in the closest villages to them on this day in order to celebrate whatever made the day so special. He had to push through the crowds to reach the bar and once he did he asked the young woman who was serving some of the other customers if she could fetch the owner for him. He wanted to get a safe place to keep his furs and bags until he could manage to find Malique in the commotion of the tavern. That was if she didn't manage to find him first.

The woman Curan called over stops by his table before heading back to the counter. After listening to his request, and responds. " I am not sure the owner has such a place, but I will ask him for you. We are but a tavern that serves food and drink, but he may have a storage area that you may be able to use." She nods at him with a smile as she hurries off to the counter. However before the woman can carry out her task. The door to the tavern bursts open. In steps Malique quickly shutting the door behind her. She then says with an exasperating sigh. "Holy balls it is hot out there." Just with a few words from her, and a few of the patrons are now looking in her direction. The atmosphere of the conversation soon changes, and becomes near hushed. Mumbled comments can be overheard from neighboring tables. "By the gods they let that trash in here?" "What is this place coming to letting half breed filth enter places of business?" "Someone really needs to put a leash of their pet." The comments continue, and get far crueler. Malique however does not seem affected by them at all. In fact she instead shouts, "Attention please! I have a quick question before you go back to complaining on how this place has gone to the dogs, letting trash like me in. Has anyone seen my underwear? I seem to have misplaced them somewhere, and I am not sure which of your wives is wearing them. I really need them back. They have very sentimental value to me. I can pay if any of you wish to speak up on your inability to satisfy your wives, and tell me where to find her so I can get them back. I am afraid hers are much to big for me."

The entire room bursts into anger, and two quickly stand reaching for their weapons. She then in a flash pulls her bow with two arrows knocked. She looses the arrows as they pierce through their mugs. She then says, "Aww man that is a waste of good alcohol. Pull them and the next two take your boyhood. Wait I know you. You know you should stop making your daughter dye her hair. She is not a natural redhead, and does not like the color." The man grows more furious. She then says, "Contrary to popular belief I am no different than any other woman. All my parts are in the same place, and work just the same. I do not have teeth in my vagina, nor a tail that injects poison, or a third nipple. Wait..." She pulls her shirt out, and looks down. "One...two. Nope just two. Sorry had to check that one. So, if none of you know where they are, then just sit back down, and complain about your miserable lives. Stop trying to give me a hard time, because we all know that is one thing you are incapable of." The ones that stood slowly slink back to their seats. Malique calls the barmaid over. "Please give those two over there new drinks on me. After all it was me who spilled them. Plus bring me a bottle of your strongest whisky. Bring it to the table over there with two glasses." She slips 3 gold coins into the barmaids hands.

Malique then struts over to where Curan is sitting, and plops down in a chair. "Hey Curan. It looks like your getting along quite well. Good haul of pelts. You would get a better trade for them pelts to the elves to the north. Trade for spices with the elves, and sell the spices here. Should net you a nice profit with a little extra leg work. Most of the people here in the village wear fabrics made from flax, and hemp. Most leather is only used for work clothes, gloves, and tools by the smith. So not much demand, but spices are always in high demand, because very few humans are allowed into the forest. So a little heads up before you carry all those pelts down here again." The barmaid comes to the table with an odd shaped bottle, and two glasses. She sets the glasses and bottle down, and Malique looks up at her. "Oh one last thing. Can we get two apples please?" The barmaid smiles rushing off, and returns shortly with the apples. Malique puts a small handful of silver on the tray. "Come see me later." She winks at her, as the barmaid giggles running off. Malique cuts up one of the apples into slices, and puts them in her glass. She does the same with the other apple into the glass she puts in front of Curan. She then opens the bottle filling both glasses. She smiles saying, "Save the apples for last. It is a real treat." She then downs the glass in almost two gulps.

Curan nodded appreciatively at the woman as she walks off. A moment later Malique entered the tavern and Curan couldn't help but to laugh at what the woman choose to be her first words in the establishment. He wasn't however as receptive of the insults that the other patrons choose to use to describe the woman as the half elf was. In fact he had nearly decide to comment on that fact but he decided it would be best to leave it for Malique to deal with instead. He was glad he did because her chosen way if handling the situation allowed him even more amusement. A short time later she made her way over to where he was sitting. He couldn't help but think about how enticing she looked when she moved that way and he found himself once again thinking about just what it would be like to be with her. He had only been with a handful of women and they had all be intimidated by him once he had finished with them. Apparently his untamed and uncivil ways of bedding a woman was not something that the more average women could handle. He was sure that Malique didn't fall under that category but he also didn't want to risk ruining the friendship that they did have and so he had decided not to presue her unless he was egerbshe that she would have no problem with his proclivities.

He listened to her advice intently as she spoke and then replied "I'll be sure to keep that in mind. I'm not bothered by the extra work so it sounds like a great plan to me. I'll just hold onto my furs and head to the village after I leave here." At that moment the barmaid brought over Maliques order. He wondered if the woman would remember to get the owner for him because he still needed to speak to the man. He then looked at the glass that his companion had poured for him and he quickly threw the liquid back in one swallow. He wasn't trying to outdo the woman or anything like that. Not yet anyways. He just hadn't had a drink in a while and was rather parched. He let out a satisfied sigh and then said "That's good. The apple adds a little more sweetness then I'd prefer in my drink, but its deffinitly good."

He then obiously looked the woman across from him up and down in an inquisitive manner and asked "So were you telling the truth, or just trying to get a rise out of the other customers?" As he asked the question a thought occurred to him and he let out a small chuckle before saying "I'll tell you one thing. It's a good thing you can't speak to animals. Because if I was to ever introduce you to the pack and you and Mother got to talking she'd want you for a member and she'd force us to mate to seal you place in the pack." Curan had told Malique before about his being raised by dire wolves, but he had kept what he was a secret. Mostly for the same reason that he hadn't tried bedding the woman. However she was an intelligent woman so for all he knew she might have figured out the truth on her own somehow and just not revealed that fact to him. Only time would reveal that though. He went ahead and poured another round of drinks for himself and Malique as he waited to hear what she would say.

Image It became painfully obvious that they didn't really understand what she had said... She wondered if this 'Liandril' they spoke of would be able to understand the language. She couldn't help but feel an overhelming sense of loneliness. Being around people who she couldn't even have a conversation with... gave her an even greater feeling of being disconnected from everything. She barely registered the cloak being wrapped around her, and muttered a 'thank you', despite knowing that the woman probably didn't even understand that either.

Everything started to get fuzzy as she followed them towards wherever they wanted to take her. The adrenaline of the situation was starting to wear off, and her body and head ached. The gravity of the situation was starting to set in, and as she took a glance back towards the castle... towards her home... she realized that she was truly alone in the world. She had no one left. She had no idea why these women, and William, were helping her... but she knew that their hospitality would only last so long. Her guess was that once she was out of the city, she would be on her own. She had no money.. nothing to repay them with. They had no reason to keep her with them.

Her parents were dead. Her entire world was burned to the ground...

And it was her fault.

Had it not been her birthday... had her parents not thrown this party...

It was all her fault.

The screams had started to get to her, boring into her mind and making a permanent imprint. She felt lightheaded. She didn't know where she was anymore, or where she was going. Everything was blurring together. Why was she even alive? Why did she deserve to be saved? She stumbled a little in her walking, doing her best to keep going. She wanted nothing more than to break down crying, but she had to keep going.
