Prim remained silent. Damon, Lucas, and Jasmine were watching as well, curious about what was going on. Up until now they hadn’t noticed anything wrong between the two, but Damon was the first to put two and two together.

“Now, now,” Damon said, quickly getting up. “Let’s not anger her. Whatever it is between you two can be discussed in a calm and rational manner.” He gave Prim a pleading look. The girl wasn’t the type to let her anger get to her, but she was known for reacting irrationally when she felt like someone was trying to intimidate her or egg her on for a fight. Still, she remained silent and watched the British boy carefully.

Oscar watched her silence and smirked when she had to have a friend come in and talk for her. He stepped back with his hands up and shrugged “No problem here” he claimed and threw his sweatshirt over his shoulder and turned away from them and walked over and sat down stretching his legs. He didnt know How to get her talking alone, maybe after this match she will see what he has to offer. He tightened his jaw and sighed shaking his head. He couldnt believe not one word came out of the girls mouth. She remains a mystery tohim and who knows maybe she will stay that way. Well in that case he will just keep to himself and out of her “wrath”. He chuckled a bit at the thought. Her anger didnt scare him, her abolity might be the best at this school or whatever but he didnt come here to be another person in the line of following Primrose Baker.

Damon watched Oscar go and sit off by himself, then he turned to Prim with a raised brow. “Care to explain?”

Prim waited until Jasmine and Lucas had wandered off, picking up on their conversation. She crossed her arms and looked away, toward the dark forest where the other five had disappeared into. “There’s nothing to explain,” She snapped. “I wasn’t even doing anything to him, I was just sitting here.”

“Right,” Damon said, rolling his eyes. “You’ve been abnormally quiet all afrernoon. With this look on your face. You were fine all day until the new kid showed up so obviously it has to do with the new kid.”

Prim shook her head stubbornly, looking up at Damon as he stood over her. “I swear. It doesn’t. It’s not important so just drop—“ Suddenly there was a loud BOOM! Like the sound of a canon. Prim stood up in a haste, her eyes searching the trees. The sound of that cannon meant someone had gone out of bounds, and then it was quickly followed by two more.

“You’re kidding me!” Jasmine yelled. “It’s Eric. He’s throwing people out of bounds. Fucking cheater!”

Prim shook her head, jogging over to Jasmine. “It could be one of ours too. We can’t be su—“

“Look out!” Damon yelled just as out of the mist, a large tree came flying toward Prim and Jasmine. Both girls dug their feet into the ground as they attempted to catch the tree, but it was too heavy and came too fast — they were thrown backwards, missing out of bounds by an inch.

Prim could hear yelling as she and Jasmine struggled to get out from under the tree trunk. She watched as Jasmine shifted into a black guinea pig before wriggling out of from under the pile of her clothes and the tree. She then shifted into a wolf, shaking off grass from her fur as she sniffed Prim and attempted to nudge the trunk off her.

Meanwhile, Amy was yelling. Prim hadn’t seen her show up, but Prim assumed that it had happened as she chased one of Eric’s teammates in their direction. The girl, known for her grace and energy, was dodging, cartwheeling, and somersaulting out of the way of rocks, boulders, and anything a yellow haired girl was throwing at her. Prim recognized her as Diamond, Eric’s girlfriend. Amy was attempting to get Damon’s attention, who had run over to help Prim but now stood still, unsure of what to do.

“Help her!” Prim snapped. Heather was suddenly thrown through the mist into their hostage line, sliding across the ground on her back as she then rolled and landed in a kneeling position. Her hair was a mess, and her clothes were in shambles. There was claw marks all over her legs that Prim recognized as Wolf’s doing. Wolf was Eric’s best friend, a redhead boy that could grow claws and slash through almost anything.

“Jasmine help Heather,” Prim said. “It’s fine! Just help her. Lucas stay by the dummy. Torch anyone that gets too close.” Giving a small huff, the grey wolf that was Jasmine darted after Heather, who had picked up and run off into the fog again.

Meanwhile, Damon had neutralized Diamond, who was currently on her knees, cursing as she felt around on the ground as if she had lost the glasses she didn’t wear. Grabbing her by the elbow, Amy helped her up and led her toward the white line that marked out of bounds. Both girls were almost there when another trunk was thrown, and they both were pushed out of the field. Two more canons sounded.

Prim cursed as she watched Damon disappear into the fog in the direction the trunk had come from, leaving her trapped and helpless under the trunk. Lucas had run off to the other side of the hostage line, and was most likely standing by the dummy. So far she had only seen Amy go out of bounds, but for all she knew half the team was gone.

Oscar found himself standing up and shocked at the sounds. The action was starting. He tightened his jaw and the first to start coming down were trees. He saw Primrose and Jasmine both get caught but Jasmine shifted to a small creature and got out. He looked around as people scatter. The knew this was his time. He threw his jacket on the ground and ran towards the giant tree. He put both hands on the trunk and thought what to do he saw another nearby tree that was untouched and decided to use that for more strength. He used this to lean on as both his legs went on the tree on top of Primrose and he used all of it to push but he was barely budging. He pushed harder than he ever knew he could and he heard cracking of either the wood or his body. He stomped various times as chucks flew off. He then stood up and used his fist bashing the bark to even more pieces. With the weight shredded off he leaned on the standing tree and with his legs pushed the tree once more it finally sliding enough for Primrose to slip out from beneath it. It was no longer on her top body it was just barely on her legs. He lifted the tree and tried to hold it for as long as he could he broke a sweat. Finally he just walked back and dropped it down off of Prim completely. He wiped his face and ran back towards the hostage. Oscar noticed Heather looking rough but Oscar ended up near Lucas to protect the hostage. But it came down to him and the boy with massive claws who everyone called Wolf. His read hair almost distracting. He narrowed his eyes and with his hands in fists ran towards him hoping to get a hit without getting clawed near the face.

Prim watched grim faced as Oscar aided her in getting out from under the tree. And before she could even spit out a “thank you” he had already run off toward the hostage. Her middle hurt, and she knew it would most likely bruise, but gritting her teeth, she followed after him and stumbled into the scene just as the dumbass was about to go full on with Wolf.

Normally, Prim would have let it happen. Wolf was a bulky kid, who spent his time lifting weighs and flexing his muscles. Next to him, Oscar looked like a twig. And although nothing would have brought her more joy than to see Wolf squish Oscar like a bug, she couldn’t lose another team member.

From past experiences, she knew Wolf’s fears. Although he was a large boy, he was terrified of small things. Like mice. Specifically giant elephant sized mice. It was a ridiculous fear as elephant sized mice didn’t exist, but Prim could make them exist.

Reaching down, Prim pressed her palms to the ground. Many believed that Prim could make things appear from thin air, and while she could, it required extra energy and it ended leaving her exhausted. So she preferred using her enviorment to bring physical fears to life.

Under them, the ground shook. The ground between Wolf and Oscar began collapsing in on itself and forced them to come apart as a giant rat began to climb out from the very ground itself. Wolf stumbled back, his claws retreating into his hands as he stared in horror as the nightmare that had haunted his childhood dreams stood before him. Glaring at Prim, he yelled, “Bitch!” Before picking up a boulder and throwing it at the rat before he turned and ran off. Lifting her hand, Prim sent the rat after him with a flick of her wrist. The creature shrieked and raced off, squishing and pushing trees out of its path.

Sinking to her knees, Prim clutched her ribs, trying to take slow even breaths. There was another sound of a canon and Prim groaned in frustration. “Lucas,” She called, who had been standing near the hostage through the entire show. “If anyone comes back make them stay here and help you.” Looking up at Oscar, the girl made a face as she got back to her feet, wincing. Taking a deep breath, she said her very first words to the boy. “I hope you actually have a good ability because we’re both going to go get that hostage and win this thing, and I’m not going to lose thanks to you.”

Oscar was draw back by the ground moving and he could tell this was Prim’s doing he stood firm as Wolf ran off being chased by a giant rat and before too much time passed he ran over to Prim and Lucas. But one look at Primrose and he knew she had to stay still. He looked at Prim when her first words came from her mouth and she was actually sorta kinda asking for his help to go get the hostage. He looked at her state “You can’t even move. Just stay with Lucas before you get yourself worse, we wont’t lose” soon it was only Oscar running into the fog and out of sight. He ran straight as fast as he could. His legs burning he still pushed. There were fights going on all around him but he saw the hostage being blocked. He was going to get that damn hostage if it was going to cost him the game.

He really was a dumbass.

Running after him, Prim narrowly dodged a rock being thrown at her. Damon was on the ground, wrestling with Eric. She saw Heather, Jasmine, and the giant mouse taking on Wolf. She didn’t see Ashley or Dash, so she wondered if they had gone out of bounds as well. Coming up to the hostage line, she slowed to a stop and hid behind a tree. She could see three people. Erica, Eric’s sister was standing right by the hostage. The brown haired girl had her arms crossed, and she looked bored. The other two were twins, two girls by the names of Mia and Mai. They were standing, talking quietly. With Erica, Mia, Mai, Diamond, Eric, and Wolf, that was only six people. Prim was wondering where the other four were when there was a yell and Oscar was tackled.

Both of them rolled onto the hostage line, revealing that his attacker was an Asian boy with blue spiky hair by the name of Xian. He had been hiding up in the trees, and Prim suddenly remembered that he had an elasticity ability. She watched as the twins and the Asian boy quickly circled Oscar. Her eyes then traveled over to Erica, who had put up a purple iridescent forcefield around her and the hostage.

Oscar tried to get closer to the hostage but was aware that everyone knew he was here. He was circled and he turned around and took a swing at someone and missed. They wiped around and punching his eye to which he fell back. He tackled another person and opened the circle and he rolled out. He stood and headed towards the hostage but was tackled his legs were grabbed. He tried to kick lose. He actually manage to kick the persons face and scrap up and run after the hostage. He wasnt sure he was going to make it.

Erica watched Oscar with a smile from behind her force field. Just as Oscar nearly reached her, Xian extended his arms, like string cheese they wrapped around his legs and dragged him toward him. Prim considered her options. She knew Lucas could only hold them off for so long. And even if Oscar won the game, a win was a win, right?

Looking up at the sky, her brow furrowed as she concentrated. She knew Mia and Mai were terrified of thunder. And almost on cue, there was a flash of lightning dangerously close to where Erica stood, and then the loud boom of thunder. Both girls screamed, running off in different directions as they tried to find cover. Prim took this chance to run out from under her spot and tackle Xian, who let go of Oscar as they rolled and crashed into the ground.

“Go!” She yelled, sitting on Xian’s chest and pressing his face into the grass. There was another flash of lightning dangerously close to Erica and then the boom of thunder. The girl, clearly frightened, began dragging the hostage away.

With no hesitation he nodded “Got it!” He yelled back and ran towards the girls pushing them both away from the hostage that banged to the ground. And with his hands firmly on the hostage he jumped around and ran as fast as he could back to his own place he couldn't have done it without Prim but she couldn't have helped him if she was still stuck under that tree. He was scared when Wolf yelled out that Oscar was getting away with the hostage. He pushed hard and faster. He was so worn out his his left eye was bruised and swollen from getting punched. But he could see well enough out of his right to see the clearing open. And he got close enough to the edge he had to make this moment count “Lucas!” He yelled and he used all his remaining strength before collapsing to throw the dummy as far as he could towards his side. Only making it a little bit before their own mark. Oscar tried to get up but his muscles clenched up and he couldn't fully stand up. He crawled close so this game could end and they could take the win. Hopefully Lucas could get a little time away from their hostage and pull theirs over the line.
