Reznik nodded to Misty, then watched Lydia’s response and listened to her. Nodding lighty he then made his way silently over to the suv and got in the drivers seat. Gripping the steering wheel silently he closed his eyes and sighed heavily. The one thing he told himself for months that he wouldn’t allow he was breaking.

He’d wait till everyone got into their vehicles of choice, then looking in the review mirror he watched the two love birds. Indeed they made a good couple. He then looked to the side view mirror and double checked that he disconnected the gas nozzle. Once done he fired the engine up, shifted the gear into drive and slowly pulled out of the parking lot.

It wouldn’t take long to get the convoy on the right road headed towards the airport.

Lydia gave Jax one last reassuring smile before they both turned to their respective vehicles. However, the second she turned away, that smile faded. She really was fucking up here, wasn't she? The blonde turned back briefly, looking at the two cars ahead, knowing that they held the people who were more likely to entertain her on the ride to the airport. Still, peace and quiet didn't come easily these days. And now she really had something to think about (and beat herself up about).

So she turned back around and marched towards her shared car with Tessa and Castor. As she walked, kicking the gravel beneath her feet, Misty's leaning figure and bike came into view. Without realizing it, Lydia walked past her car, stopping only once she was in front of Misty. Even though she couldn't go physically, she could still try and leave her message.

"I need you to do something for me at the base," she said quietly, yet quickly, locking her gaze with Misty's. "I need you to leave a message for me. In the control room, right by the main keyboard. Blake was here. Please." It was a long shot, but maybe he'd see it.

Without another word, Lydia turned and climbed into the car, slamming the door firmly behind her.

Castor rolled his eyes, wasn't expecting 21 questions, he thought before he glanced at Tessa than back at Lydia,"How about we make it into a game? Two lies one truth ?"he suggested with a small smirk, as he looked between the two girls,"better than sitting in silence the whole way,"he added as he raised his eyebrows, Castor wasn't looking forward to another silent ride with two girls, in all honesty he wished he was riding with Calli and Cassi, but it seemed like they were making friends while Castor was being left behind in the dirt.

______

Cassi didn't like the idea of Calli being separated from her, after the attack of the mutants and being separated from her siblings and group, well let's say it drove Cassi almost crazy. The only person who kept her going was Addi, people like Patrick and Addi, they were the future and Cassi had to keep reminding herself she had protect Addison. As Lee got inside, the warmth of his palm in hers brought her back from her thoughts, a smile crept on her face as she intertwined their fingers together.

As they began to drive, Cassi let out a small sigh before she asked,"Where does Jax expect to fly us?"she was now curious if the plan was to get out of the country or just that state.

Once everyone started choosing vans to get into, Patrick and Addison got into the same van as Cassi and Lee. The doors slid shut and they settled into the seats. Addison slid over to Patrick with a smirk and laid down with her head resting on his lap, and she looked up at him with a big smile. He gazed back with an equally big smile, brushing away the lose hair from her eyes. For the first time in several weeks, they were both really, really happy. It was almost better than before.

"You're a dork," Patrick mumbled with a chuckle. "Are you sure you're not drunk?"

"Fuck no," Addison replied. "I haven't had a drink in minutes."

Patrick laughed. He leaned down and gave her a small kiss. Addison responded by pulling his face down and holding it there. Between the two of them until Cassi's voice interrupted the silence. She questioned where Jax planned to fly to. They pulled apart as Addison looked over at the other two in the front seats. She had almost forgot that they were there. Addison snorted and turned so that her head rested on her hand, digging her elbow into Patrick's lap. He gave a wince.

"Maybe we could do one of those things in one of those television shows where they have a fuckin' base in the sky. I'd fall in love with that."

In the control room, right by the main keyboard. Blake was here. Please." Lydia walked away, ad Misty nodded, as Lydia walked away. I wonder who that message is for She watched as the vans drove away, into the night, and hoping they saw her, she waved. I hope they all make it back alive

The drive to the airport was a lengthy one, longer than Jax expected actually. Almost two hours on the road and three cigars later, the front of the airport was finally in sight. A smile appeared on Jax's face as an abandonded plane came into view, along with several small vehicles littering the runway, which was a bit odd. Though, he didnt think much of the cars. The airport was pretty large from what Jax could tell, unable to see where it ended from the entrance. The southern man flicked his blinker on, turning to the right into the airport entrance. Jax pulled up around to the unloading area, coming to a stop. Once the vehicle was stopped, Jax climbed out and stretched looking back towards the other vehicles.

Lee was asleep in the back seat of Reznik's vehicle, leaning slightly against Cassi. It was just long enough for him to get a nap in. Once the vehicle rolled to a stop, his eyes fluttered open, gazing down at Cassi next to him. Lee rubbed his eyes, looking towards the entrance door to the aiport. He was happy theyd made it to the airport. Maybe they could make this a permanent deal. More importantly, it would offer space for him and Cassi to be alone, away from the watchful eyes. Lee grunted as he stepped out of the vehicle, twisting from side to side to crack his back as he stepped over to his brother,.clasping him on the shoulder. His eyes gazed around, seeing afew cars littering the loading zone. Mustve been left when shit hit the fan.

Tessa had revealed some about herself on the trip, acknowledging how she always wanted to be a singer, her passion being music though she stayed back home on the farm. She learned a bit about Castor too. Turns out he wasnt only soem guy obsessed with his sisters. Which was goo to hear, since his obsession came off a bit creepy. Though he seemed nice enough, and she did admire his willingness to put everything out there for his family. "So you guys really think getting in a plane with that bone head is such a good idea?" She asked to the passengers, a playful smile appearing on her face.

Reznik has followed suit after Jax once they had left the gas station. He stayed pretty silent he whole trip, just in his own thoughts and memories. When they had finally arrived to the airport, he did take notice immediately of the vehicles scattered in different areas. Deep down he had that feeling again, but also steeled himself to do whatever needed to be done.

Stepping out of the vehicle, his eyes scanned over everything, every part of the building, every window, any place that would be able to conceal an ambush, or an attacker. Satisfied he stepped over towards the rest of the group in time to hear Tessa. Reznik merely shook his head as he walked past.

“Well it’s either that or back to where we were at...” His voice had taken on a more somber tone. He also seemed a little more closed off, and didn’t offer as much expression as he used to. Most would just chalk it up to exhaustion or stress, but for him it was deeper than that. And not something up for conversation either.

“Alright, I guess what, check the main hub first Jax?”

Surprisingly, the next two hours weren't absolutely terrible for Lydia. Her plan of sulking in the back seat and worrying about her decisions was thrown out the window quickly, as her car-pool buddies decided to partake in some harmless ice-breaker fun. She was glad it worked out that way actually; not only did she forget about her troubles, but she also learned more about Tessa and Castor. Plus, the second she found out that Tessa wanted to be a singer, Lydia used that information to her advantage (aka: forcing her to sing a song, or maybe two). The only thing that could make those two hours better was some cold drinks, but alas, you can't have everything.

As they began to near the airport, Lydia became more concentrated on the surroundings than the conversation. She gazed out the window, watching as they grew closer and closer to the entrance and the air strips. Eventually, the cars came to a halt, and the blonde found her mood shifting from upbeat and content to increasingly nervous. This was foreign territory - who knew what was out there? Unfortunately, that feeling of uncertainty wasn't new, but Lydia still couldn't grow accustomed to it. For that reason, she took a deep breath before climbing out of the car, attempting to clear her mind and focusing on the task at hand. With her relatively light pack of belongings strapped to her back, the woman made her way to the central gathering of her group.

She was about to answer Tessa's question with a slight dig at Jax's piloting skills, but Reznik beat her to it. Except that his answer wasn't quite as lighthearted as hers. Lydia frowned slightly, turning her attention to the man, and taking in his facial expressions and body language. He wasn't usually this... pessimistic. He was closed off and rather difficult to read, but she thought she had chipped off the tiniest bit of brick on the towering wall he had built for himself. For that reason, the woman found herself moving to stand beside him. Obviously it wasn't a good time to question him, but maybe she could get a little more than a vibe this way.

The New World: Deadlands

The car ride for Castor was easy and breezy once the girls gave into his idea - he learned a bit about them and he gave information about himself. Such as his family is half Greek, his father was a mythologist, before the bombs dropped he owned a bar and he had a niece, which he took pride in. As the hours rolled on, Cast was grateful for the two - and conversations, it made the drive shorter for Castor himself as well. As they neared the airport however, the easy smile slowly faded, his eyes fixed on the cars ahead of him, hoping the two would keep an eye out for whatever lurked around them - if anything.

Cast pulled his car in behind the others, as Tessa asked her question, Castor broke a small smirk out - hoping her doubt was misplaced however. As Reznik came into the conversation, answering the question Cast gave him a look before he slipped away from the group to let Major out of the back.

On Cassi's end - the car ride was quiet for the most part, Lee slept most the way and Rez seemed to be in a mood and wasn't down for conversation - if it wasn't for Patrick and Addison, Cassi might have been bored the whole ride there, thankfully the two kept her entertained. They were two great kids, and Addi seemed a little distant but Patrick was talkative the whole time, sometimes even speaking for Addison it seemed.

When the car ride came to end at the airport, Cassi felt Leeland wake up, she offered a slight smile to the waking man before she climbed out of the vehicle, as Cassi looked around she felt the locket pressing down on her skin like a weight, memories of the last time she saw her family alive played through her mind.

"I'll be back in no time!"Cassi grinned up at her husband as her little girl wrapped herself around her legs.

"Still two weeks feels like forever Cass!"Benji groaned as he tried prying Ava away,"Ava, baby, come on..."he looked down at the 4 year old.

Ava's grip tightened, almost like she was scared she would never see her own mother again. Little did Cassi really know as she picked up her daughter and placed a kiss on her cheek, that would be the last time she saw them,"Mama has to go, be good for Daddy!"she said before handing the child off and picking up her bags,"be back in -"

"No time,"Ben grinned back before placing a kiss on her lips. Cassi smiled before she turned and rushed towards her gate door, before boarding she turned and blew one last kiss to her family.

"That was a shit ride.."Calli's voice reached her ears, Cassi turned her head, a smile breaking on her face as the memory was pushed back,"I'm serious, another one like that today and I might lose my shit, I mean it was nice with Jamie, but fuck my legs,"she whined as she leaned against her sister.

Cassi wrapped an arm around her,"You poor thing..."she shook her head before pulling away,"come on let's see what the plan is,"she said before leading her towards the group.

Jax raised a brow when Reznik asked him about their first move. The idea of being looked to for direction was surprising to Jaxon. Not even a month ago he tried to rob these people. Now, after Jamie turned into a complete loon, naturally people would look to someone else for 'leadearship'. Though to Jax, he wouldnt be think hed be top of the list. His first thought would be Reznik, but the afore mentioned had often turned to him for input. The whole situation felt, odd.

"We should split up gang." Lee chimed in, swinging his fist in a playful gesture across his own chest. "Maybe groups of two. Cover more ground but still have numbers."

"Nah.. Strength in numbers kid. Stay together. You can suck face later." Jax replied, patting his brother on the back. "We should search around here like Rez suggested. Find as much as we can, which probably wont be much. But, I figure most of the good stuff is going to be in the farther terminals. So we can just work our way back as we search. Might take us a few days to rip up the whole place."

Lee groaned and shook his head, "It's going to take forever as one group. Aside from the sucking face, i think splitting would cover more ground, faster."

"Have you never watched a fucking horror movie? Yeah splitting up is definitely the way to go.." Jaxon replied sarcastically as he stepped towards the main entrance doors.
--

"Way to be a dick." Tessa mumbled under her breath at Reznik's comment. Her eyes turned towards Addison and Pat as they were getting out of the vehicle, stepping over to them with a bright smile. "Please tell me you dont have a stick up your ass too." She joked at the two glancing back at the rest of the group. "Think we'll find that helicopter here?" She asked them. She knew the pair were eager to find out where it came from.
