Skye blushed slightly at Gaius' question. She had planned on just trying it at the shoulders. She glanced down at the fabric and wondered what she could sew it into.

"I was thinking a simple smock," she said with another blush. "Do you have any ideas?" She asked, holding it up and feeling a little worried.

Gaius found himself smiling upon seeing the blush that Skye had developed. Seeing a lovely young woman blush was always a pleasure for the man. He enjoyed making them smile and blush, he didn't truly know why, he just did. His soft green gaze moved about the piece of fabric and then back towards Skye. The man had his opinions but when it came to figuring out what to make he wasn't as sure. Simply curious the redhead stepped a little closer, examining both Skye and the fabric. It should be used in a spot it helped bring out what he said before. The contrast with the white and the blending in of the burgandy.

" Hmm...there's a few things that come to mind. A simple one would be to make into a sash to tie around your waist. I think like that it'll help show off your lovely legs. Then again you could sew it to be apart of a shirt, it'll help bring out the areas around it, perhaps your neck or arms. It all depends upon which regions you wish to show off." Gaius spoke softly as his gaze moved from each region be made note of. His thieving eye was coming into play here trying to pick out the best spot. Then again this was all up to Skye, he was just trying to figure out the best thing to do.

" You look quite beautiful when you blush by the way lady Skye." Gaius commented quickly as his gaze returned to her tinted cheeks. The man sometimes forgets himself when he starts focusing on something. Surely Skye felt a bit uncomfortable with his gaze moving about as it had. Once he was finished he gave a slight bow to apologize for potentially being rude or off putting.

Kthirtic's Study

Behind, she found a cavernous room, seemingly carved out of the bedrock with no concern for adornment. Chairs and benches, equally diverse in appearance and arrangement, filled the hall at random. The air inside was cool and smelled of iron. At the front, a simple altar and a statue, the former covered in the waxen discharge of twenty-one black candles that still burned. The latter was of a hooded woman, her arms outstretched, a multitude of legs protruding from her robes.

A faint light filled the room, but not the orange glow of the candles. This was pale and blue, akin to moonlight, and it seemed to shine from the surface of the statue itself. It filled Kthirtic's head with wordless whispers. Incomprehensible, but rife with rambled longing, calling, begging the woman to come forward and kneel before the goddess.
The woman in the rat-faced mask stared at the statue, shoulders hunched, posture defensive. The whispers were intriguing. They caressed and brushed and rattled and promised and begged and twisted and ached, whether they meant to or not. They pulsed along gentle cracks, leaving an incidental trail of green behind them. She could smell it, even though she couldn't see it. Her tail--normally inanimate--whipped behind her, brought to life by her anxiety. The thing, of course, was the request. The kneeling. She'd not knelt in decades. She couldn't remember what it felt like. She didn't want to remember. Her mind acquiesced, turned, pulled, stood, raged, gnashed, bit. Her gauntlet spun in sympathy. Green electricity crackled between crystals, snapping the silence. It wanted to cross into the statue, but it held its temper in check for the moment. Kthirtic tilted her head--stared at the statue--spoke.

"I'll not be kneeling."

The crystals applauded, politely, in her head.

Mirah smiled her eyes still calm. "Perhaps one day. For now let's not worry." She said before looking at the trinkets. Her eyes scanned for a piece that was real.. However to no avail for price. "Hm... sadly these aren't real, but, they are quite lovely. Which one do you like?" She inquired.

She was eyeing a little glass blue bird, that hung from a chain. It looked like two different sapphire stones had been melding together. Smiling Mirah reache for her coin purse in intent to purchase something only to pause her eyes catching the shadows. What were they? Her curiosity almost peeked buy then she pulled herself back to the task at hand.

Kthirtic's Study

The whispers turned to laughter. Of course, of course, she would not kneel. A smart girl. A bold girl. And something a little more, they saw, echoing in the cracks between her ears. A little something more they wholefully delighted in.

Clever, clever, they praised, and for a moment, the room Kthirtic stood in was gone. Instead, a formless expanse of colors twisted beneath her feet, and a sky devoid of cloud or star above. In the near distance, a red moon hung, sanguine tendrils of light trailing in a halo behind its bulk. The air thrummed with energy, but the place was utterly silent, almost stifling.

She watches. The voices were solemn, in awe of... something. She desires.

As they spoke, the blood moon began to turn. Slowly, ever so slowly, coming nearer and nearer to where the woman stood with every rotation.

The other side was empty.

Not as in devoid of features, but as in devoid of any mass at all, an empty void of space that ended in darkness. Within the black, a shape lurked.

In a flash, the room returned, and the whispers ceased.
Alone she drifts from ancient mists
Nary a candle, nary a wish
But in the wont of wandering paths
Through wooded knolls, and windworn crags
She seeks a face she thought as friend
But now -- she thinks as judgement's end

Three weeks. It took Iris three weeks to get to Azuria. That man wasn't kidding; it really was a long walk, and she had to stop and rest at many, many inns on her way. Still, the long journey did work to her advantage. Spending so much time travelling meant that she got to visit several local markets to buy new clothes, since Hana's old rags were not really the kind of thing she wanted to wear. Besides, wearing slightly more tasteful clothes like this would avert suspicion, in a way. Nobody in Hoskenn would ever wear something like this. The general attire of the place, much like the atmosphere, was dull and grey. That was a shame; it looked awfully nice in red.

Azuria was nicer, from what she'd heard... although, compared to Hoskenn, that was no real achievement. An abandoned prison would be nicer than Hoskenn. A bloodstained laboratory would be nicer than Hoskenn. The unfathomable void would be nicer than Hoskenn. A wealthy, well-populated kingdom wouldn't even compare. Still, Iris knew she wouldn't be seeing its best side any time soon, not with the vessel she'd chosen. Azuria, from what she remembered, was quite... hierarchical. The poor were poor and the rich were rich, and not much seemed to be done to change that. Now, Iris wasn't exactly going to start a socialist revolution, but she wouldn't mind a nicer place to live than what these common houses seemed to offer... maybe she would find a nice noblewoman to possess and use her house as temporary accommodation. Maybe.

As she walked further along the streets, Iris began to hear music. Was this a common occurrence, to play music out loud in the streets? She doubted it. There must be some sort of event on... now that she thought about it, someone did mention a festival back in the last town she visited. Could that be what it was from? The sight of flowers and ribbon-covered poles in the distance confirmed her suspicions. This was lucky, wasn't it! Her first day in Azuria, and there was already a festival! She hoped that the joyous atmosphere would be enough to purge the dull boredom Hoskenn had left in her mind. Eventually, Iris approached the site of the festival, holding the lantern close to her to avoid accidentally hitting anyone with it. She put on an innocent smile as she drifted around the festival grounds, hovering around a few food stalls for a while before rejoining the rest of the crowd. She seemed to be enjoying herself...

but this joy, she knew, would pale in comparison to the satisfaction pulling this place into chaos would bring her.

Rania held a smile smirk when Mirah said they might be able to hunt one day together. Her friend certainly seemed like a very powerful predator, especially with those eyes. It would likely prove a very interesting and pleasant experience to watch her hunt. That was for another time as Mirah had said. When it was noted that nothing was real the elf gave a very soft sigh. She was in search of something lovely and not fake, as those broke way to easily. Slowly the elven woman drifted to the seller right next to the man. A large, very rounded woman stop there smiling down at the shorter woman. Her pieces seemed much more beautiful.

" I don't know. Just...I would like to treat myself to something nice for once. Something eye catching and tasteful?" Rania spoke softly as she gazed around at the large woman's merchandise. Trinket was more marvelous than the last and were surely quite pricey. Finally her gaze landed upon a lovely ring with a bejewled wolf insignia. The design was flat and took up a decent bit of her finger but it was lovely. Then there was the sword necklace, a blade pointed down with twin serpents climbing to the top, each wrapped around it. The hilt of the blade held a beautiful ruby." Oh my...Mirah...can I seek your opinion on these two? I fear I'd spend a fortune if I bought them both." Rania asked as she turned to face her new friend and co-worker. Her gaze found something else as well, a fine looking young woman seemed to walk by, clutching a lantern of some kind close to her. The elf felt a bit of heat rise to her cheeks as she turned away trying to hide the fact she was blushing.

In the near distance, a red moon hung, sanguine tendrils of light trailing in a halo behind its bulk. The air thrummed with energy, but the place was utterly silent, almost stifling.
Kthirtic stumbled, then sat down hard, crossing her legs under her. Her head tilted back, watching the world change through three lenses--her mask's crystal, her goggles' glass, and her own wide eyes. An expression of childlike wonder warped her face, and suddenly she looked much younger. Her clothes hung on her frame even more loosely than they had before. Her hands propped her up as she leaned back to take in the display, and the crystals on her gauntlet slowed. Their energy played, gently--almost lethargically.

The moon neared. The gauntlet began to spin up again, pulsing with agitation. Kthirtic aged, returning to the place she'd been before the moon had come. Her eyes narrowed, suddenly suspicious. Her head tilted. The moon turned. Her head tilted to the other side. The moon turned. She pushed herself up into a crouch. The moon turned. Her gauntlet rotated, spinning, and lightning crackled between the crystals, angrily. The picture had been disrupted. Something was inside the moon. The gauntlet span and span and spanned the gap, and the air cracked loudly enough to startle the stars, and
In a flash, the room returned, and the whispers ceased.
Kthirtic stood in front of the statue. The far wall, bare inches from the statue's shoulder, smoked. Green lightning had gouged a hole in it. Kthirtic glanced at it, guiltily, then cast her eyes down. Her gauntlet span down as well. Was this how a noblewoman--the Royal Machinist!--of Argus comported herself? She'd have to destroy the moon, no doubt about that, but for certain, it would take more than her little gauntlet to do it. Cursed visions, and their obfuscations. She sketched a quick, oddly formal curtsy by way of apology.

Skye considered the options given to her by Gaius and she looked at the fabric with a scrutinizing gaze. Then she met the man's eye and blushed even further. He seemed to be taking all of her in, and she found it quite flattering.

"Well, thank you Gaius," she said with a wave of her hand. Then she looked over at the sky. It was getting late, although Skye would want to participate in one more activity with Gaius.

"Would you like to do something else?" She asked hopefully.

Gaius couldn't really keep the small smirk from appearing on his lips as he noticed Skye blushing more. It was a bit harder to see with her darker skin and all but it was cute. You don't really see elves with darker skin, so it really gave Skye a unique look. With that thought though the redhead followed the woman's gaze up towards the sky. It was getting a bit late but, Skye seemed to want to continue their evening together." Hmm...we could grab a little bit to eat, for dinner and all. We could watch the performers for a little bit. Or we could simply walk around for awhile longer, just chatting and taking in the sights?" Gaius offered one thing after the other, making sure to see what Skye wanted to do. No point in taking a lovely young woman as your company and have her do things she wouldn't enjoy.
