Are you in any slower paced Casual/Inter RPs?

I was in a slow one in Intermediate, but the issue was my number of characters (four or five) and the plot depth I had set (some serious lore and twists).

I've temporarily left Trooper FN-86 in charge, with me counseling him on the plot. I think I'll be reducing my number to one or two when I return.

That's a good idea. Either limit the number of RPs, or limit your speed and involvement.
