Can paper be considered a vegetable?

Post by Psycho42 » Wed Nov 08, 2017 2:06 pm

I know what you are thinking. But this topic actually interests me. Questions like this are what I live for. This question was brought up by one of my favorite youtubers and I need help with research.

Okay, so the difference between a fruit and a vegetable is that a fruit is seed bearing and vegetable is not. Roots, stems, and leaves are considered vegetable and wood is part of the “Stem” of a tree. Paper is the pulp of wood so I guess paper would be considered a vegetable?

Moving this to Ethics and Debate, I feel it's better suited there.

Squash soup is the pulp of a squash, and it isn't considered a vegetable in and of itself. It is, however, the product of a vegetable. I think the same logic can be applied to paper, seeing as it's basically congealed tree soup. It isn't a vegetable, but it's made of them.
Alone she drifts from ancient mists
Nary a candle, nary a wish
But in the wont of wandering paths
Through wooded knolls, and windworn crags
She seeks a face she thought as friend
But now -- she thinks as judgement's end

So if I only eat paper....can I say I'm vegetarian?

No, because corpses can't be vegetarian.

I honestly believe this is a question will go through the ages.
Why do we live? What happens when we die? How does one reach enlightenment?
In truth: are we all fruits, or vegetables? Fruits contain seeds, and we have the seeds of life inside us in some way or another, and paper can seed knowledge, wars, decisions and revolutions.
So I believe paper is a fruit in some metaphysical sense.
