God

Post by Andromeda Infinity » Sun Oct 08, 2017 3:57 am

Jehovah, Yaveh, YHWH, God.

The God that we all know and to which most of the western world prays for health, money, success, patience, whatnot; He is almighty, all-knowing and all-seeing. We all know the creationism stories, and we've all read at least one verse of the Bible. That Bible, with so many versions, two of the most known to me are the "Holy Bible" and "Translation to the New World of the Holy Scriptures" used by the Catholics and Jehovah Witnesses respectively. I've noticed differences, though both claim to be the absolute truth.

Now, on this topic, I will admit I've studied the second version mentioned above along with my family, years ago, since they are part of the JW. As for me, that is for you to find out in due time.

My question is simple, and I'm sure it will bring out a good discussion, or long at least.

Does God exist?

This is my simple question, which will require an answer that can't be as simple.

Along with your answer, I'd like to ask you to prove your statement, backed up by a source if you must. Be it yes or no, I want to know why do you believe that, and why should I believe it as well.

Now, let's begin. I'll repeat the question.

Does God exist?

A negative claim is a colloquialism for an affirmative claim that asserts the non-existence or exclusion of something. Saying "You cannot prove a negative" is a pseudologic because there are many proofs that substantiate negative claims in mathematics, science, and economics. There can be multiple claims within a debate. Nevertheless, whoever makes a claim carries the burden of proof regardless of positive or negative content in the claim.

That would make almost all fanfiction stories real.

Which is not this one, I take it?

Wait, God likes fanfiction?

That includes slash and incest.
And bestiality.
And poop eating.

Phew, I was worried.
Shame I don't believe in him.

Did you see his beard? What gel or cream does he use for that thing?

His beard. You chatted with him, à la talk show. You know what I'm talking about ;)
