Power Desc.: Brighton specializes in technology that is able to remotely interface with the human nervous system, generally through the use of electromagnetic fields and pulses, as well as the human nervous system itself. He is particularly skilled in the manipulation of emotions and mental states. His creations generally take the form of short-distance "transmitters" from which the field is generated, affecting either individuals in a certain radius of the device, or affecting any individuals in contact with the device.
A metal band that clasps around the ankle, connecting seamlessly when it is closed. It has no apparent cracks on the surface where the casing can be pried open. Upon activation, the cuff sends out an electro-neural pulse that overrides the central nervous system, instigating a flight-or-fight response in the subject. The intensity of the pulse determines how debilitating the response is, ranging from mild discomfort, to anxiety, to an outright panic attack. Rumors that the cuffs have the potential to short-circuit the subject's brain are unsubstantiated.
This device can be modified to incite other emotional responses as well, though those are far less tested. There is a current functional prototype that induces docility in the affected.
-Reverse Field Manipulator (functional prototype, approved for staff use)
Similar to the emotive deterrent cuff in design, though it is far less complex, and is easy to put on and remove. When the body is targeted by any form of dermal or subdermal electromagnetic field, it automatically generates an inverse field, negating the initial's effects. This was commissioned by Administrator Steele as a safeguard against any of Screw's existing mechanisms, and developed under high scrutiny.
-Inhibitory Negator (in development, approved for non-human trials)
Either takes the form of a small orb or a long, thin metal rod, depending on the model. The orb is capable of safely generating an effective field of a foot. The rod is able to project a cone-shaped effective field up to five feet. Both devices interfere with cognitive inhibition, inducing reactive, often reckless behavior in individuals. Potential use for interrogation, given the issue of rendering targets comatose with overuse is mended. Smaller designs are possible, but they greatly sacrifice range as the coil is reduced in size.
-Remote Neural Telecommunicator (defunct/postponed development, approved for non-human trials)
A small capsule capable of generating fine-tuned frequency pulses. Invasive application is necessary; the skin lacks the conductive qualities to properly transfer the frequencies the device produces. Essentially, the device mimics the function of sympathetic neurons, transmitting a mimicked biotelemetric signal between capsules. In theory, the users should be able to communicate via emotional states, or even simple thoughts, at any distance. In application, more often than not, it improperly integrates with the receiving host and induces neural feedback seizures.
