[RP][AllThatAngst] Making Deals with the Devil

Post by xBlackxAcex » Sun Jan 29, 2017 10:53 pm

From the pain in his hands despite the feeling resonating through his whole body to the top of his shoulders to his knees, Roy was suspicious of her flip-flop behavior. He was doubtful that he would find the manpower to hold out being handicapped for a day or two, but he was damned to not let Babs out by herself. He was not going to let her pull the same stunt like last time when she snuck out. It was point-blank; he caught onto her hidden agenda, and he wasn't gonna go to sleep -- no matter how drained his body was. "I'm fine Babs. You have some cleaning up to do yourself before you go on and worry about me."

~

Vaughn eyed her as he watched her hysterics. She was hysterical, but she held truth. Love, lust, and obsession were all human emotions while they were easy to figure out, they did take a toll on the conscious. So she was correct. She did interest him. She was different. So different that she disoriented him from solely focusing on becoming human again. He wasn't going to kill her if he didn't have to. "Are you done?" He drew in his bat-like wings; they took a lot of energy away from him, but his cells worked to mend the skin. He stepped closer to Kortori, minimizing the enlarged space she managed to create with her hysteria. Mesmerized by her fair skin and soft features, he ghostly traced his fingertips down to the bridge of her nose, the corner of her mouth, all the way to her jaw and chin. "That's a bit cliche, don't you think? If you consider showing a little cleavage, a sin, then I was supposed to. But no, I was hunting down somebody else." He, himself couldn't rid the earth of sinners by himself. Nor that sin would ever vanish. It was the devil's duty to judge when the time came for the sinner's verdict.

Babs rubbed the sides of her arms, an effort to comfort herself and maybe give her some courage. It was hard to trick Roy, she felt even dirtier. Pouting she stared at her feet and wiggled her toes, humans were certainly peculiar creatures. They were weak, single-minded, ignorant, greedy, and hard-headed. Such imperfect creatures, this is why their life was so vulnerable. Full of flaws and yet she devoted her life to protecting them along with nature. And here she was, her main purpose being protect nature and she was stuck in some metal world where trees are a privilege and humans respect no one, not even themselves. One thing she also had yet to see were animals, there had to be some somewhere. Maybe when she worked up the courage she would ask Roy to take her to such a place.

Looking down at herself, Babs decided that he was right and nodded hesitantly. Slowly advancing towards the bathroom, she remembered the wall that rained. Once inside she undressed first--having learned from last time and allowed the magical water to fall onto her body. Babs was simply allowing the water to hit her head until she saw a small white square. It appeared so simple yet smelled so odd. Reaching out for it, she grabbed it in one hand and brought it to her nose. Yes, it certainly smelled magnificent. As she moved it from hand to hand she witnessed the birth of bubbles and gasped loudly, amazed. Roy's name was on the tip of her tongue but she still felt guilty about earlier and decided to leave her findings to herself. So instead Babs squeezed down onto the soap and made it jump from hand to hand. She was going fairly fast until the soap slipped from her hands and onto the shower floor, and to continue her luck, as she stepped down to pick it up, she slipped. Unused to the situation, her reflexes were useless and she hit the shower floor with a loud slap. It stung at first but the pain quickly faded away. Babs decided then that she hated the white bar and turned off the magic water like Roy had before.

Wringing out her hair, she stepped out and looked around. Roy did not like nudity, humans were uncomfortable by it. Although Babs realized that it must be to some extent because many humans wore revealing clothes. Looking around she grabbed the long white cloth and wrapped it around her body to her best abilities. Pushing open the bathroom door she padded over to her new clothes and rummaged through them to find something recognizable. But quickly she gave up and just borrowed one of Roy's t shirts to sleep in. After it was on she went over to the bed and raised her arms, taking a deep breath she swung her arms like an orchestra instructor and the tendrils went back into the bed, disappearing like they were never there. That little effort was enough to remind her how tired she was and she wandered towards the bed but then remembered what she did there and staggered back. Pushing her wet hair from her face, she turned her head away. "You can go to sleep... I am not tired... I'm uh, going to stay up for a little bit." It was not even about sneaking out anymore, she just couldn't sleep next to him anymore.

~

Tapping her forearm as he snapped at her, she pursed her lips and sighed. She knew that she was being ridiculous. Kotori was ashamed and disgusted with herself, and she made making a plan at the top of her list. It would be easier to do if he was not here. Speaking of which, he was invading her space, and touching her. It was so gentle though, she could have ignored it. She froze, confused by his actions. So she just waited, silently, trying to assess the gentle touches. They were ... odd, they made her feel odd. She did not like that and she was glad he screwed up the moment with his rudeness. Taking off the makeshift blindfold she stared up at him, large green eyes searching his face as if he changed during the period she was blind. She flicked her eyes to the left and right to check her surroundings, yes there were in her apartment and nothing looked different, and yet she had just been a part of something amazing a few moments ago. "I've done many things in my life that I should be punished for." she murmured, eyes drifting to his lips before going back up to his eyes. "How am I supposed to know if you are just playing with me until you get bored and decide to just... take me?" she feigned worry, truly unafraid of death. But she continued her act, her voice soft and breathy, her large doe eyes wide and her pouty lips slightly parted.

Roy’s eyes followed Babs’s figure before his eyes were forced to drop to the low crack of the door where the warm, orange light spilled from underneath. He did not know what he was doing or thinking. ‘I should fix that door soon. I’m not living by myself anymore.’ Fixated on the pale rose petals that were wrapped around his hands, his head whipped up when he heard the smack coming from the bathroom. ‘Did she fall?’ He inwardly grimaced as he slowly approached the door, hand outstretched for the doorknob. However, he did not hear any recoil, and he stopped himself from stepping inside. He swiveled around and returned to sit on the bed. She finally finished, but he turned his head as she took off the towel. He never understood the feminine species in their complexity, so he couldn’t remotely begin to dissect the science of the woman in front of him. Even though she was wearing one of his shirts, he wasn’t annoyed. “I guess that makes the two of us then.” The instant lie fell swiftly from his lips and proceeded to pick up the towel from the floor. Water droplets dripped off the ends of her hair: some landed on the back of her shirt or onto the carpet. With his impaired vision and movements, his stubbornness was persistent. “You’re a tease. First, you hurt me, then you wear my shirt, but you won’t sleep with me.” She still refused to look at him. Gathering her hair in the cloth, he rubbed the strands dry together, gently without scraping his hands together too roughly. “It gets super cold during this time. Have your hair so wet when you’re human again, the cold will hit you like a train.” He yawned mid-way, breaking his smirk.

~

Vaughn followed her gaze, and his own eyes glanced at her lips before he lowered his sights to her neck. His hands worked gracefully to undo the blindfold’s knot, and he slung the stretched out tee around his shoulders. “I can imagine. Just this outfit is a wrongful sin.” He whispered in a low voice. Peering into the large sea of green, he grinned a Cheshire grin. His lilic irises were void of a soul, but hers were filled with something that he desired to get to the bottom to, all behind her little act. He might just be the one who saw the most of her than she has ever unveiled to anyone and vice versa. “Let’s not bore one another, and you’ll steer clear from receiving any “punishment” from me for all your past sins. And my secret will not spill from that precious mouth of yours.” His lip curled upwards. “You already have all the answers. I would never take you out of the blue at least not in terms of hell and death, but I guess we both have a game to play huh?” The devilish creature winked.

Babs hesitated as the human approached her. She now questioned her abilities and moralities. If part of her did hold such aggressive and distrustful resentment towards the human race, then maybe Babs was not the person she thought she was. She did not love all living creatures and was not supposed to protect everything that lived. Directions were never exactly given out when she came to life, it was just an educated guess. Today she was still guessing, today was a strong reminder that she was wrong. What worried her most was that she did not remember what she said or did. She did momentarily see Roy bleeding, but there was no sound. Babs was unsure as to how she could ever forgive herself. It was eating her up, and the overly emotional goddess could not handle it.

"Sleep will allow your body to focus on healing..." she murmured, still not looking at him. She did not feel a heated glare but she did feel his gaze wash over her body. She pondered whether something was wrong or he was just curious. Babs wrapped her arms around herself and rubbed her shin of her right leg onto her left calf. She wanted her to make herself as small as possible. At his words, she furrowed her brows rubbing her arms, the not-so-soft fabric of his shirt still comforting. "I haven't played any games or tricks on you, how am I a tease?" she was genuinely confused. If it was anything relatively romantic or sexual then she absolutely would be at a lost. Finally she looked up at him, large blue eyes weary. Alas, she could not hold his stare for longer than a few seconds and her orbs fell down to the floor, aimed at her bare feet. He was drying her hair and it was odd, very different. Her anxious fingers clenched the end of the t shirt, her palms slightly sweaty and her hands trembling slightly. "Okay Roy..." she murmured, although she was certain that she was immune to human sicknesses. More time would be required for the human effects to hit her. It was nice that he cared even though she believed that she did not deserve it.

~

Kotori was amused but did not show it. She found nothing wrong with her apparel but also knew that it also complimented attractive features. It brought attention to her large bust and smooth legs, attributes most males favored. Men were too easy. But, Kotori continued to carry her fake act of innocence and played dummy. Bringing a gentle, closed fist up towards her chin, she made sure that the long sleeves of the sweatshirt covered most of her small fists. The sweatshirt practically swallowed her and the silk shorts barely peeked out from underneath. Vaughn gave off this vibe that in truth Kotori physically was like the others, it was most likely her mentality that made her different. Adding a soft nature to her eyes, she continued to stare wide-eyed up at Vaughn, searching his eyes and waiting patiently. Visually keeping her facade, she pursed her lips and ducked her chin down. Raising an index finger to trail down his left pectoral, Kotori spoke as if she was trying to break the news to someone unfortunate. "I like games..."

"It's just is." Roy mumbled, and he ruffled her hair dry one last time. Subsequently, he draped the damp towel over the back of the single chair. "It's human logic. You'll find that we are quite the weird ones." He found supernatural essences to be a nuisance, but if he was and that he had the choice to be human, he would not take the offer. Humans were incomprehensible, self-destructive, and merciless. He did not see an apparent reason for Babs's desire to be human, aside from the recent occurrences. He did not bring light on the matter since it may make her feel worse. He failed to evoke a cheeky response from Babs. She was an emotional one, and Roy could only do so much before his own persistence plateaued. His bravado dissipated. Scratching his brow, he awkwardly shifted on his heels, and he made his way out to the bed. "Um." He cleared his throat, pulling the covers over his body and facing the wall. "Don't stay up too late. I'll find out if you do."

~

"I see why men flock your way." Vaughn grazed his hand over her shoulder and down her arm. He was puzzled on why she kept her meek facade. His thoughts momentarily drifted to the night on the rooftop. 'I like them too...' An exotic one she was. His common event did not produce such occurrences. They were usually frightened, ran away, and was hesitant. He had no control test. His past was incomparable to the present moment. His brain racked as he was wholly single tracked on the repetitive movement on his skin. What did she want? They were both trying to decipher one another. Wisps of hair fell into his eyes, and he raked the strands back with his fingertips. His eyes hardened. "What kind of game are you playing at?" He rasped, holding her wrist captive. Whether she was seducing him to trick him, or to mercilessly venture boundaries for her own pleasures, he didn't enjoy being confused. He didn't plan on finishing whatever she was attempting to initiate. Humans were articulate creatures, a species that couldn't be learned from a textbook. Psychologists and human behavior specialists practically nicked the surface even some factors and origins were unknown to them since they were humans themselves.

Babs pouted as if she was about to start crying again. She shook her head and clamped her eyes shut. "I did not intend to tease you Roy." she exclaimed quietly, allowing him to finish drying her hair. When he was done it was slightly puffy from his wild drying skills. She ran her fingers through it, combing the knots out with her fingers. The ends were already curling and it made her frown, she hated when her hair curled after being wet. Only the ends curled and it just nagged at her brain. Rubbing the ends, her meek efforts proved invaluable. Quickly she gave up and pushed the mostly dry locks behind her shoulders. Her blue eyes followed his form as it climbed into the bed and faced away from her. He reminded her of a caterpillar going back into its cocoon or a chick hopping back into its shell. Whatever that was was nice while it lasted. She stood there awkwardly for about fifteen minutes, silent and still. It was a record for her. She was not known for such skills--unless she was hunting or tracking. Babs went over to the window and knelt down, trying to gaze up at the moon that sat perched in the sky thoughtfully. A building blocked her line of vision and the ugly, rough bricks were dirty and faded. Sighing, she turned around and put her back to the wall, pulling her knees up to her chest and placing her hands in her lap. What was she to do now? Babs had no ideas but her body it, quickly it succumbed to sleep and her lids fell. Soft breaths passed through her lips, in rhythm with her resting heart rate.

~~~
Kotori had to stop herself from smirking, she already knew the answer to his statement, why react? Maybe because it was just so amusing to hear from his lips. Men are predictable, is what she wanted to say. They are the whorish flies that fly into my Venus flytraps. Running her tongue over her bottom lip she pulled the right side of her lower lip with her teeth then let it go, about to speak again. She had saw the change of emotion in his eyes. "Is that a rhetorical question?" she murmured back gently. Kotori did not flinch from his sudden, harsh grip or his accusing tone of voice, or the aggressive look in his eyes. He would not hurt her. If anything, he was angry because she was in control and he could not understand why or how. Allowing her hand and arm to remain limp in his hold, she momentarily looked at his knuckles, wondering if his grip would leave bruises on her peach-like skin. The last thing she needed or wanted was attention over some bruises. Such sob stories did not intrigue her. But if it happened, which it most likely would, then she would roll with it. Peering back up at him, she stared back unflinchingly.
Shuffling quietly around the room, Roy got ready for work in the early morning. No birds chirped, buses heaved to make their routes, and the skies were a tough blue-gray gradient; the sun was was masked from the city's thick pollution. He cautiously pulled his jeans over his thin legs, and he struggled to buckle his belt without applying so much pressure on his hands. "Dang." He silently grimaced as he tugged the end through the loops of his pants. Glancing down at his hands, he shook his head foolishly before he looked at the sleeping Babs from across the room. 'I told her it was cold at night.' He sighed while he swiped the blanket from the bed and draped it over her shoulders. 'I just hope she didn't cry herself to sleep.' He turned his back, scribbling a note on the office notepad for when she woke up. 'BABS, I'LL BE BACK AROUND SUNSET. DON'T DO ANYTHING STUPID AND BE SAFE. ROY' He took his jacket, placing it over his shoulder, and he shut the door as quietly as possible. Advancing with long strides to work, he observed his surroundings for a flower shop or a stand. "Not a single one." He bowed his head down. Liquor stores, loan offices, and small food restaurants were all that was around him. "This won't do." Roy huffed, and all the sudden, the pack of Malbros in his pocket weighed heavily against his thigh.
~
Vaughn narrowed his light eyes, and he attempted to analyze the attractive mortal in front of him for the hundredth time with hard eyes. 'I don't understand this girl.' The grip he had on her wrist was frustratingly tight that it was undeniable that he bruised her fair skin. Skin stretched white over his knuckles, he ticked his jaw. 'How can she react this way with her hand limp? Unflinchingly. She's not fighting me. Does she really think that I won't hurt her?' "You sure are cheeky, love." His subconscious irked his thoughts; the small devil went against everything he told himself. 'You won't.' Kotori could handle a bruise or two. He didn't doubt that she could manage a lot worse with earlier's incident of her threats of gutting him on the street. Smirking, he pulled her body against his and he nipped at the skin on her neck. He released her wrist and backed away, putting on his worn out shirt in the process. As he tousled his hair and teased the strands with the tips of his nimble fingers, he let out a tired breath, walking back over to the window. His little show took a toll on his body. Reopening the window, he swung one leg over. Before he left, he turned his head and flirtatiously winked. "See ya Blade." With his farewell, Vaughn retreated from Kotori's window.
Sleep slowly slipped from Babs consciousness, and the sun seeped from the window she was slouched underneath. The warmth spread all over her, making up for the lack of heating in the cheap apartment. A slight yellow hue bounced onto her skin, making her glow, her caramel skin tone bright. Hair strands of gold, red, and light brown, caught the light; seemingly she appeared as if her entire body was glowing, magical. First her nose twitched, twice, and then she shifted in the other direction, causing the blanket to slide down. As her body continued to wake, her eyes began to move underneath their lids. Raising her arms above her head, the little goddess yawned and cracked her neck. The floor was definitely uncomfortable compared to the forest floor.
Babs pushed herself up onto her feet and looked around, Roy's presence was missing and he was nowhere to be found. It only took her a few moments but she realized that he had work. She would miss him, and wonder where exactly this job was, but she could take care of herself for the time being. Running her fingers through her long, wavy hair, she detangled any final knots. Small, abrupt noises of air left her lips as she lazily looked around, for anything really. That is when she found the note. "Sunset..." she murmured, before taking long strides to the window to see the sun's placement. A small grin took over her features as she realized how much time she had. Forgetting the rules that had been placed on her before, Babs quickly undressed and ruffled through her new clothes. She put on a bra like the lady from the mall showed her, although it took her a good ten minutes to get it right. Pants were a pain as well, but eventually she pulled on the low-rise green cargo pants and grey off the shoulder top. Slipping into a pair of black socks, she stared at her white converses, contemplating whether she remembered how Roy tied them. Biting her lip, she tackled the challenge known as her sneakers. The strings were a hassle, figuring out where the loops go and how far to pull through. It took her awhile but eventually she realized that it was like tying a bow and then she had beautifully tied shoes. She grabbed a handful of cash and jammed it into her pocket. With that Babs was out of the window, not wanting to mess with the locked door.
Babs landed on her feet in the alleyway, and then she was gone. She ran through the crowds of people on the sidewalks. She had things to do before Roy got back. She probably would be back on time, luckily he had given her a time of day rather than specific number. The sky was always her clock, perk of living in the wilderness.
The sun had fallen and hung low in the sky. She could hardly see it past the buildings and only if she was near the harbour. Babs had visited the library, a couple museums, the water, and places with large public groups. Today was used to study her surroundings and the people in it. Times have changed and her lifestyle was considered primitive. There was also this new thing called the Internet, which was very complicated and hard to understand. Besides being amazed at everything, she fit in better than expected. There was a lot of monkey see and monkey do. Except Babs was unsure as to what society considered bad, because what they considered normal was not appreciated in her book. She would have to contemplate her morals later. She would be late, and on the phone at the library she was told ten minutes. Babs was counting 600 seconds in her head as she sprinted to the flower shop, using the hand-drawn map given to her by the security guard, she memorized. Some people in this bustling and stinky city were actually decent.
The interview with the Nigerian old woman went well. She asked a bunch of personal questions that Babs answered oddly. Then they conversed about the many breeds of flowers and the woman explained the rules. She could tell that something was off about the girl but sensed pure goodness and continued. Babs was given the jobs but did not understand the times, the old woman gave her a rather bewildered stare, but explain the human interpretation of time. The woman took this rather serious and even made Babs take notes. Before leaving Babs was ordered to recite everything and then write that down as well. As Babs was leaving, the woman-- who told her to call her Mama Rudy-- gave her a little store bag full of a snack called "Chin Chin", a note for whomever watched Babs, and yellow tulips. After being given more directions, Babs sprinted home, the sky was dark. Still, she was rather excited about her day and how she did things on her own. She was not helpless, but affectionate and dependent at times. Climbing up the apartment building wall, she reached the window ledge and pushed the window open. Carefully, she first dropped the bag onto the floor, before tumbling onto the floor, a pile of giggles and huffing and puffing. She was out of breath, that was a first.
~~~~~~

Kotori noticed all of the small movements, the minuscule muscle movements and flicker of emotion in his purple eyes. His anger and irritation was building, it was amusing to watch. It was also kind of cute. "And you're devilish," she teased back lightly, a smug look in her eyes while a small smile danced onto her lips. After tonight everything was sure to be different. She would have to do research. Kotori loved knowing secret. Well, she loved using them against people. Sadly manipulating this one would be difficult considering it came at a price, her life. She blinked twice as he pulled her body into his, caught off guard as she was momentarily lost in her thoughts. Lips parting, she suppressed her noise of surprise and shoved him as he pulled away from her. Touching her neck, she sent him a quick glare, watching him waltz back to the window, where he climbed in. "Bye Edward," she teased, doubting that he would get the reference. Kotori turned away and sat back at her couch, looking around at the large apartment and its emptiness. She titled her head back as she slouched on the sofa, staring at the messy wall. Raising her arm, she stared at the pale skin of her wrist where the delicate flesh was already darkening into a bruise, each finger evident. "Ass," she grumbled, running her fingers through her hair and walking into her bedroom. Pushing the rolling chalk board to the empty side of the room, she planted herself in the comforters and stared out the window, until she fell asleep.

"Excuse me sir, what time is it?" Roy asked an elderly as he gripped the support rail of the bus. A look of disgust flashed across his wrinkled features before he put on a small smile and gave him the time. "20 past 8." Roy nodded his head in thanks, and he moved to the other side of the bus, near the side exit. He was late. He tapped his foot anxiously while he brought his wrist into view, only to remember he didn't own a watch. Sighing, he looked straight out the window at the dark sky and the street lights. Work was anticlimactic as per usual; he didn't take as many calls today. He ate a tart, green apple, an instant cup of noodles, and a can of beer. Habits died hard, but he didn't smoke a whole pack of cigarettes. He leaned his head down to sniff the front of his shirt, and the cigarette smoke was evident on his clothes. He couldn't deny the fact he lit two or three cigarettes today. 'Ugh, this is hard.' A bag of Chinese takeout hung on his arm, and a bouquet of yellow and red chrysantheums rested in the same hand. He managed to get Babs a job in a small floral shop owned by a Japanese woman, and he picked up some flowers for Babs as well as a congratulations. His cheeks warmed.

"Of course, tell her she start work Monday. I be here at 9. No later than 10:30."

"Thank you." Roy bowed respectfully, and he began looking around the shop for a certain something. The short woman caught onto his lingering, puzzled since he received what he wanted. "What you want?"

Roy jumped, startled. His attention was ripped away from the orchids and roses. He rubbed the back of his neck embarrassingly. He swiveled on his heel to face the small Asian woman, and he smiled sheepishly. "Um, flowers. Something girly and bright." He scratched his cheek with his index finger awkwardly.

A light bulb seemed to ding in the lady's head instantly, and she scurried towards the back of the store. "Come." Roy followed after her, and he was presented with a whole varieties of peonies, lilies, bluestars, and some he did not know the names of. "Pick. I do for you." To be frank, he did not like any of them, and he was not fond of the smell of nature and flowers. He felt suffocated in the store. "You got any yellow? Like for joy and happiness and stuff?" He scanned the array of plants to find his preferred color. "Oh okay." The manager went around the back and returned with chrysanthemums. "The girl and you very lucky. These special. For you, I give 15 percent off. How much you want?"

Roy smiled victoriously that he got a deal: a job, flowers, and a discount. "!2 altogether. Can you put some red in there too?"

He gripped the bouquet of flowers, and he held them to his nose. He inwardly gagged, and he immediately lowered the flowers down. 'All this for flowers?' He shuddered in disgust. The bus halted to a stop, and he stepped off. Yawning, he walked down the street to get home, and he couldn't get there faster. The cool air brought goosebumps on his skin. He hurriedly walked up to the door and unlocked it as quick as possible. The wind racked his bones. "Babs, I'm home."

~

"Haha, Blade has a little bit of power. I like that." As long as Kori didn't overpower him, it was fine. 'She plays a good mind fuck however.' While he walked on the sidewalk, Vaughn dusted off the front of his shirt. "Too bad, I left my jacket on the roof. He shrugged the trivial subject off, coming to the conclusion that he'll just pick it up soon. He tapped his chin in thought. "Should I hunt for souls tonight? I might get lucky." He mumbled to himself. 'Or is that jumping the gun? I just told a mortal my secret..' Vaughn did not go back to his apartment that night, and he stayed out to divert his mind of thoughts Kotori. Soul after soul, the city was more full of scum than he thought, but whatever the quota or objective was, he wasn't meeting the requirement. 'It has to be a certain soul then because I'll tire myself out at this rate.' Vaughn fled from the scene of the lifeless body and escaped to a rooftop. "I'll just have to find it.' He breathed heavily. He slid down the wall, tapping his foot as he drummed his fingers on top of his knees. Perspiration dripped from the ends of his hair and glided down his face. "Ugh." He stretched his legs, and a pang of discomfort targeted his foot. He grimaced as he reached to pull up the jean material. He had to blink twice. "A bruise?" He opened his eyes, and he grazed the skin on his ankle. He saw nothing but his fair skin. 'I must be going crazy. I need to get out of here.' He pulled his pants leg and laced up his boot again. He disappeared into the night until the sun peeked the next morning.

Like a deer caught in the headlights, Babs became wide-eyed, silent, and very still. For a few minutes she just stared, she did not even bother to breathe. Is this similar to how it feels to be caught in a trap? It feels awful. Pulling herself together, she pulled her legs out of the window and sat up. Scrambling to her feet, she shut the window and picked up the little goody bag, hiding it behind her back as her eyes immediately fell to the floor in shame. He caught her, she was done for. Breaking a major rule was surely disappointing, and the last thing she wanted to do was disappoint Roy. After all, what she did the other night still made her hesitant with interacting with the mortal. What if she hurt him again? A terrible liar, but eager schmoozer, she did her best to clean this awkward mess up. "R-Roy! Hullo!" she exclaimed, bounding up to him, arms still behind her back. He was sure to have questions, especially since she was dressed, but maybe if she bombarded him with questions and remarks then he would lose then energy. He tended to easily give up caring, this could be used to her advantage.

"Welcome home--Oh! What are these?" Her mental agenda was completely thrown out of the window at the sight of the beautiful and healthy flowers. Dropping the bag down in front of her feet, she leaned forward to inhale the precious scent of the flowers in Roy's hands. "How wonderful." A certain sparkle seemed to shimmer in her eyes. Her smile was uncontrollable and refused to leave her lips, it was purely genuine and absolute joy swirled in her heart. Eyes scanning, she easily recognized the type of flower and their meaning. "Red chrysanthemums, love and deep passion. Yellow, neglected love or sorrow. And some of these can be used for sickness Roy: chest pains, head aches, fevers, and more! How thoughtful of you." she was too caught up in the moment to hesitate, she followed instinct and her heart. Throwing out her arms, she jumped up and wrapped them around his neck. Pulling herself off of the ground, she hugged him tightly and did not care if he caught her or not, or if he was even ready for the attachment. "We could have tea. Wouldn't that be fun Roy?" she murmured into his neck, still smiling and hugging tightly.

Kotori woke up in one of her moods. She refused to leave her room, and had to sit in absolute darkness. Rolling chalkboard still by the window, she remained at the foot of her bed, on the floor, staring at it through the corner of her eye. Bottles of prescription drugs sat beside her, open, one knocked over and spilling. A few pills still sat in her clenched fist, while in the other stiff hand was an exacto-knife. She pushed the tab, up and down, exposing the sharp blade before it disappeared back into the small mechanical device. Her bangs fell into her face, and tickled her nose, but she ignored it. Her green eyes were hard, and lifeless. She had that nightmare again. Being back at that crime scene, where she found her brothers. Except, time seemed to speed up and she had to watch all of it go down; useless and helpless, the dream made it seem like she could have done something. Anything. And yet she was stuck in some corner, forced to watch as her brother's insides met the world. They were ridiculed, tortured, then torn apart. By the time they were actually dying, their minds had already been tormented past its limits, making them beg for it all to end.

Pulling her knees up to her chest, she licked her lips and then stared at the exacto knife. She had places to go, and part of her had no patience for this moment of weakness. Some classmates wanted to meet her for an outing, if she took any longer then she would be late. Lolling her head to one side, she parted her lips and whispered in a broken voice to herself, "Pharmacy. Higher dosage." After adding that to her mental checklist, she got up onto her feet, and threw the knife onto the bed. Taking long strides she entered her personal bathroom, and slowly closed the door behind her. Once Kotori came out, she looked at herself in the full body mirror nailed to her wall, and inspected her outfit. Cleavage to show off the goods, long sleeve to hide the bruise, and hair down to draw attention with slight movements. She added a long, tan trench coat to combat with the temperature, especially since after brunch they were planning on going to the ice rink.

Kotori took a taxi and was at the cafe within minutes. She greeted her classmates with plenty of touching and smiling. At the circle table, she sat in the seat where she could face the door in case her stalker decided to make a surprise visit like he always did. The waiter served their drinks then left once more to give them time to decide their meals. As Kotori's eyes scanned the menu, her mouth toyed with the straw to her chai latte. Her cohorts dabbled in tasteless discussions and Kotori found herself falling rather bored. So she began the flirting game, she already knew the group's dynamic and decided to pick at it until it fell to pieces. Leaning until her shoulder touched the guy next to her, she first lightly ran her fingers through the ends of his hair before running her hands up his arm, motioning to the tattoo that was engraved into his skin. "What's the story behind this huh?" her lips quirked into a playful grin, her eyes dancing with mischief.
