The first arrow flew straight and true. She had aimed for the third Baku, the one the furthest away from Ruki and herself for the opening shot. It had been a fine attempt, but she hadn't predicted the movements of the wolf well, and the arrow which was aimed for the back of the skull instead imbedded itself into the Baku’s shoulder. The wolf snarled, twisted to face her as colored balls spilled from the wound and drifted lazily in the air.

Ruki didn't need a second signal, as the younger girl leapt into the air, a sword in each hand to intercept the two other Baku who were following the first. Her blade sliced cleanly through the belly of the first one as Yume drew a second arrow and notched it. She paused when she heard the faint whirr of a drone fluttering close.

“Ice Princess. For the moment, I recommend lessening the numbers. See if you can make things flashy while the two of you find out more about the Akumu until the reinforcements come." Came the voice of Ruki’s manager. “I’ll keep you updated on anything new, and when reinforcements come.” Yume did not take her eyes off the two remaining Baku, the wounded one had landed on the hood of the car while the second one which had gone after Ruki was now trying to put space between itself and the girl.

“Understood.” Yume said, her voice soft and calm, as she gave a barely perceptible nod of her head.

Graceful then.

Without any visible effort, Yume leapt up into the air, drawing the arrow back as she ascended, flakes of snow trailing through the air behind her. She hung in the air for a moment, simply taking in the scene. Ruki turning to face the second wolf, while the one on the car readied to pounce. The Akumu was turning, and Yume felt certain it was checking to see where it's Baku had gotten to. It lifted its head to look up at her, and even at a distance Yume could see its neon blue eyes staring. Then, Yume twisted in air aiming her arrow at the Baku she had wounded.

She released, and a trail of glittering snow followed in the wake of the arrow.

This time, she did not miss.

The arrow caught the Baku in the middle of the forehead, sending a cascade of colored balls clattering to the concrete.

“Ruki! Finish off that Baku quickly, the Akumu is turning.” Yume called, as she again twisted in the air, drawing another arrow from her quiver.

------

Amori pushed his phone back into his pocket as he looked back to the video feed on Natsuo’s tablet. He gave the other man a quick smile, but his attention was clearly on the drama unfolding on the screen. “There are a few girls nearby that are on their way, traffic is being diverted a few blocks away to help them move faster.” He said, “how’s it going for them?”

Ruki swung in the air again as the colour candy obstructed her view. The second Baku was suddenly further away. Yume's voice travelled to her ears.

"OK!" she said mindlessly as snow flakes were lightly swirling near her partner, the same rigid smile on her face, as she flicked her sword behind her. (It was the same manner as an astronaut would fling an item to travel in the opposite direction. ). The second Baku had steadied itself and rushed at her. Ruki's eyes widened and in the last minute spun her body and wrapped one arm around the neck of the Baku. In that same hand, the sword floated out of her hand, but her other arm closed a stab into the belly of the wolf Baku, before dragging it towards the throat.

High above them in the air, an air-splitting loud trumpet-like sound crashed through the air in waves. The noise was so sudden that Ruki's heart jumped. Just from the sound alone, she could feel her teeth about to chatter. NO, NO. Refusing to have her jaw tremble, she pressed her teeth together, as the corners widened to a bigger grin, bordering almost like a smirk.

The elephant-like Akumu's eyes did not blink. Slowly but surely, it began turning its head, and raising its trunk. Before Ruki can react, it swung towards the ground below. It did not hit the surface of the ground but there was a loud banging noise. Ruki's face did not change, as her unwound from the fading Baku. As its body dropped, she brought up one leg to step onto the torso.

"You're not getting away!" she yelled, as she jumped higher as the body of the baku was sent vertically downwards (as leverage). The sword that was out of her hand suddenly burst into many shards as Ruki's eyes shifted towards it for a fraction of a second. The shards all were like darts pointed towards the Akumu. Ruki flicked her wrist, and they travelled towards the trunk of the elephant-like body.

The shards stabbed and remained embedded into the trunk, but were more like toothpicks as it did not stop the trunk from hammering down. "Arrrggh," Ruki groaned to herself while eyebrows frowning.

...
...

"I understand, Tawaraya-san. As for the girls, they're doing as I have instructed and are probing the Akumu now." Natsuo said, keeping the tablet in the same position. He briefly saw the look of a half-smirk on Ruki quickly turning to something like a scowl. He didn't comment much on it, supposing for now they'd experiment and see whether her fast-paced expression changes would be good or bad for her image. He shifted his eyes towards Snow Princess.

Yume pulled the bowstring back as she angled her body in the air. Her movement was a slow twist as, an easy roll as she hovered above Ruki and the elephant Akumu. She shifted her aim, drew in a breath as the Akumu released a trumpet-like cry and beat its trunk against the air, releasing a series of heavy ‘twumps’ with each hit. With a yell Ruki used the body of a defeated Baku to propel herself forward, her weapon seeming to explode into a litany of metal darts which all shot at the Akumu.

It didn't seem to slow the Akumu down any as it continued to beat the air with a drummer’s rhythm. The elephant released a different trumpet warble, dipped its head down and lurched towards the small girl.

“Ruki!” Yume called, she released her arrow with a faint tinkle of glass. The arrow flew straight, but crunched harmlessly against the tough hide of the large elephant. With a hiss, Yume drew her second arrow and notched it. She was too late to get the second shot off, the Akumu’s head swiped to
its left, the elephant’s trunk whipped out and smacked Ruki. Yume sucked air through her teeth, aimed for what she thought to be a soft point, a space behind the Akumu’s head.

Again the arrow flew true, and again it shattered as it made contact with its target. With a surprising speed given the Akumu’s bulk, it spun around, its bright blue eyes staring up at her. Yume slid a third arrow into place and drew back on the string. The Akumu drew in a mighty breath, its body almost seeming to inflate. Yume released the arrow as the Akumu lifted its trunk.

Yume could practically feel the blare of the trumpet like call in the sudden blast of frozen air, instinctively she lifted her hands to protect her face and her vision went white.

---

Amori stared at the screen, visibly aghast. He had known the Akumu was strong by looking at it, but for it to have beaten the two of them -- for it to have beaten Yume so quickly, he was momentarily at a loss. All he could see through the camera feed was a chaotic mass of snow and ice zipping through the air, the aftereffect of whatever attack the Akumu had just performed. The thing that snapped him back to his senses was the sound of the elephant giving a triumphant chirp. Loud. Crisp.

With a shiver Amori realized that it wasn't from the video screen, not fully. He could see the windows quivering as it echoed off the buildings.”Natsuo, tell the girls to pull back now.” Amori said, his thumb frantically tapping away on his phone. “We need to get word out now, that Akumu is about to escape.” He said, bringing the phone up to his ear.

Rising up in the air, the movement of the Akumu's trunk came crashing towards Ruki to suddenly. Time slowed, but she could do nothing as she was sent flying down towards the ground. Gasping in pain, the sword in her hand fell out of her grasp when she collided into the edge of the dreamscape.

Some distances away Yume had yelled something but for a moment all Ruki could think was the dizziness, then something hitting her back hard.

The single breath of the trumpet of the Akumu was all it took to send some of the baku flying several yards away. Instead of growing weaker, the sound waves and the chill of air seemed to be growing. So much that the cold was almost burning like ice. Ruki had barely opened her eyes, before the Akumu took another step. Disregarding the two girls it raised its trunk again to strike at the invisible barrier for the Dreamscape.

The loud glass-shattering sound was ringing in the air that only the drones and girls could hear. And soon there was a white crack in the air.

------

Natsuo's eyes saw Ruki's face twisting in pain after landing on the vehicle. There was jolt of panic on his shoulders before he placed a hand on his left, as though to calm himself.

He didn't turn his eyes from the screen as the drones were approaching towards the two girls. He heard Amori-san's words clearly, but he didn't say anything as the Akumu's trunk rammed into the air again. If there was nothing distracting it... would it head straight towards the civilians outside the Dreamscape? What would it mean for their debut?

"I...I'm not sure if we should do that," he said uncertainly hesitantly, but he didn't turn away from the screen. Then he noticed Ruki pushing herself up from the car.

"... Ice Princess, Metal Dia," he said through the drones. "Can you still move?"

------

A sound much louder and chilling resonated in the sound as the crack finally opened a hole. The Baku had raised their heads, noticing some change in the air. The Dreamscape's boundary had been opened.

Ruki gradually stood up. The liquid silver was no longer around her. However, her power seemed still there as the nearby pole was slowly melting and twisting.

-------

Before Ruki can reply, several figures flew by Natsuo and Amori's heads. Looking up in alarm, they were heading straight towards the crack in the Dreamscape boundary. They were also drones but of the colour red. And under the sun, Natsuo saw the emblem logo clearly. Queen's.

He whipped his head back. Nearby on the building rooftop opposite where the two managers were, there was the sihlouette of a familiar figure. A crown on her head, and her hands holding a pen and tome. Queen's dark eyes did not look the least fazed, as shown from all the television screens that were streaming the live footage. The Akumu took another step and took its first step outside, and Queen smiled.

"Let's re-write this nightmare, shall we?" she said, holding out her pen.

“...Ice Princess, Metal Dia, can you still move?”

What remained of Yume’s bow fell to the ground with a crystalline clatter as it slipped from her fingers. She had heard Natsuo’s question, yet she found herself frozen in place. Simply staring at the white crack in the sky as it spread. The Akumu once more lifted its great trunk and once more brought it down upon the spreading cracks. For the briefest of moments as Yume’s heart fluttered in her chest, she almost thought the barrier would hold.

Then, with the sound of cracking of glass the barrier finally relented to its tormentors, and the dream was broken.

The Akumu lifted its trunk and released a trumpet warble which sounded like laughter.

--------

“Right, she’s here now. Yes. Yes. Both of their uniforms are broken by the looks of it, but I think they still can- right. I’m on it.” With a tap of his thumb Amori ended the call, his eyes immediately darted to the tablet but there was no need, he could see the Akumu well enough as it took its first steps out of the Dreamscape and into the real world. For the briefest of moments, a passing fragment of thought before his mind engaged with the more pressing matters at hand, Amori could have sworn he had seen a momentary flash of wonderment in the elephant’s ringed eyes.

Amori reached over and gave the younger manager’s shoulder a reassuring squeeze, before leaning past him and speaking into the mic.

“Furostomi-sama, can you hear us?” Amori said, Yume twitched, a motion he had almost missed. She looked up at the camera and nodded. Amori allowed himself a half-second to feel relieved before pressing on. “Both you and Dia are fine on mana, but your health is at zero.” The second was easy enough to see, Yume’s long blue and white kimono was gone, instead she wore one which was featureless and white, which barely reached down to her knees and had sleeves cropped at mid-arm. Still, it would help her concentrate.

“Do not engage the Akumu, it's too dangerous so leave that for Queen, however, do you think yourself and Dia in any state to keep the Baku at bay?” This time Yume looked at the camera and gave a definite nod of her head, her expression perfectly neutral. Then she turned away, and Amori heard her calling for Ruki.

-------

“Ruki!” Yume called, she held her left hand out as another bow took shape. It lacked the elegant curve of the one she had made earlier, and was far more utilitarian in design. But, it was what she could manage, so it was what she could make.

“We need to keep the Baku from following the Akumu out.” She drew an arrow from a quiver on her hip, it was a straightforward shard of ice, it would fly true, and that's all Yume needed it to do. “It will be dangerous to fight like this, get behind me if you don't want to.” Yume sighted in on the nearest Baku to the jagged exit into reality. Aimed for the space between its arm and shoulder joint. That would hit the heart.

“On my mark,” in a fluid motion she slipped her fingers free of the bowstring.
“Mark!”

-------

The Akumu’s jubilation at its newfound freedom was short lived as a new challenger appeared. It lifted its head, its two vibrant blue eyes staring up at the silhouette up on the building far above. It pointed its trunk straight up and released a sharp warble. As it had done before the Akumu began to beat out a rhythm using its trunk as the drumstick and the ground for the drum. Asphalt and concrete quaked, windows quivered, and there was a sudden screech of water vapor as a pipe somewhere burst.

Natsuo exhaled a deep breath just as he felt the squeeze of a hand on his shoulder. To keep himself calm, he saw that Ruki's expression was not looking good. it was to be expected, but right now she was live on tv. However, Ice Princess had taken this chance to ready a new bow and talk to Ruki.

Surprisingly when you are hit in the Dreamscape, there hits hurt on impact, but Ruki found that very quickly the pain was gone. She quickly jumped up into the air, right next towards her partner.

"Ok... I'll keep shooting as well." Ruki said, holding her hands out. The metal that was from her bottles earlier were nowhere near her. But the metal poles were shifting and distorting. They reduced to nothing but metallic balls suspended in the air. With a flick of her wrist, the metallic shapes shifted into sharp darts and darted out.

Some of the baku had eyes reverting back from the Akumu and to the two girls. The wolves circled around them. Some falling back as they were pieced from the arrows and darts. In the second that Ruki had momentarily, stopped, about a pack of five suddenly darted forward towards the two girls, baring their jaws.

------

The blast of the trumpet sound sent some of the stray rubbish bins to fly as though a storm was coming. Queen's figure did not even move an inch while the tail of her cloak flickered and swayed vigorously in the wind cast by the Akumu. Queen's smile did not falter as she raised her pen, making some sort of writing.

In the view of the camera it was hard to see what she had wrote. But the book cover glowed. Queen had activated her rule-change.

20 meters all around her the shattered glass and windows dropped from the buildings towards the ground. Instead of a loud shattering noise, the debris bounced along the ground as if they were made of rubber. She wrote something else with the pen, flicking the end of it towards the elephant. "It's my turn," she said, with the similarly faint smile.

Perhaps there was a cheer in the crowd, as the debris traveled rather quickly towards the centre of the crack where the Akumu was walking out of. The book glowed again, and the debris collided into parts of the Akumu's trunk and tusk. There was another roar from the Akumu, but rather than of amusement, it was a cry of pain.

Five of them. Yume pivoted on her right heel as the Baku she had been aiming at tumbled forward, carried solely by the remaining momentum from its dash towards the break in the Dreamscape. She drew her arrow back as she turned, always focusing on the Baku which was the furthest to the left in the pack. She released the arrow, her body continuing its motion as she brought the bow to bear on the next baku in line.

“Ruki! Focus on the right side!” She called, drawing another arrow from her quiver and sliding it into place as the first arrow hit the wolf with a ’snk’. Her second shot was quick, but the target was coming head-on. Easy. She released the arrow and her attention turned to the leader of the pack, in a flash Yume could tell she wouldn't be able to draw a third arrow before the baku reached them. Instead she stepped forward and thrust her bow at the wolf as if it were a lance.

The ice extended outwards with the motion, the curve of the bow straightening as a long blade took shape. The wolf attempted to break off, escape the blade of the yari Yume had made, but its own speed worked against it. The blade cut into the baku and the wolf tumbled past, colorful balls spilling out and bouncing through the air.

From behind Yume heard the drone give a warning beep, trusting Ruki had her two wolves handled, Yume spun in place. More baku.

“Ruki, more behind!” Yume called, her spear flowing with the motion of her body as she swiped it low at the legs of the nearest wolf.

-------

The Akumu cried out as debris and glass sliced into the tough skin of its great trunk and nicked its tusks. The great elephant slammed its feet against the ground as it released a frustrated bleat. It's vibrant blue eyes stared up at cause of its pain, the woman up on the building far out of reach.

With another cry, this one a challenging blast of sound which scattered the debris on the ground. The Akumu drew in a great gust of air, its body once more inflating with the influx. With a great trumpeting roar, a flurry of ice and snow filled the air aiming for the woman at the top of the tower.

She was running out of darts. Her mind urging her to run and bypass the wave of baku to reach for more metal would mean separating from Yume. [Metal manipulation is limited by range]. Her stomach sank, simply shooting was not an option if it was going to work like a loadable rifle. The metal debris from the car was rising up and coiling around Ruki's right arm like a snake.

Over the commotion of noise Metal Dia barely heard her new partner's words. "O-OK!" Ruki said, narrowing her eyes as another few bakus were charging in. Gritting her teeth, she lashed her hand out, causing the rope-like metal to whip out. The baku was smart, and jumped to the side.

"NO, DON'T YOU DARE!" Ruki yelled in frustration. With the distance the rope-like metal's tip did a quick u-turn. Just as the baku was two three steps away from the girls, the metal rope tightened around the throat of the wolf baku.

Ruki's other free hand gripped also onto the rope and pulled back firmly. The struggling baku was sent flying in an arc, colliding onto the next baku. The one that didn't have the metal rope strangling was sent flying upwards.

... ...

Queen rose up in the air, looking down at the elephant Akumu. She wasn't looking in the blue eyes however.

"A second round?" she mused, picking up her pen again. It would be the same again, of the book glowing. The tome continued to glow. just as the snow and debris entered the 20 meter range. The swift motion of the snow and debris dropped as though they had weighed like really heavy stones. From the ground to the tops of the tower, there was a great shaking everywhere. The baku that were within the dreamscape stopped.

Queen's tome glowed a different colour. Red. On the other side of the screen, viewers were cheering, causing the light to be glowing brighter. Another day where her hyper was much anticipated.

[Queen's code] The ground shook like ripples, opening the cracks once again to the underworld. White hands grabbed on, and pulled him closer. And closer... towards the yomi.
(Yomi is the world of the dead in Shinto religion)

White hands with long and arms erupted from the ground. There were five of them, and massive in size. The palm was as large as a car. This was exactly the same as no.15's power, Toumei. Three of the most front grabbed onto the tusks of the akumu, and the other by the akumu's right leg. They gripped tight. And slowly but surely there was small scrapping noises heard.

Queen walked towards the edge of the tower rooftop, where she could see the Akumu more clearly. "You're more than welcome to escape out of their grip, even though Toumei's power is rather strong." Queen challenged her opponent, idly twirling her pen. "I am always ready."

The baku didn't move in time.

The wolf howled as the yari’s blade sliced into its foreleg. It attempted to scramble back as Yume brought the spear back around but the wolf stumbled over the colorful marbles spilling from its wound and offered only a defiant snarl as the blade of Yume’s lance sliced cleanly through the back of its neck. Yume twisted her body with the motion, swung the head of her weapon out in a low arc and forcing a baku to dart backwards lest it suffer the same fate.

Yume took a step back towards Ruki, when with a snarl two baku from the right dashed towards her. Yume turned towards the threat, and thrust her lance at the baku as it drew near, catching the wolf in the upper shoulder. Without any hesitation Yume pushed herself up off the ground, using her yari as a pole vaulter might to go up and over the beast, landing neatly behind the two baku. With the sound of ice snapping Yume pulled her weapon out of the baku, the blade of her yari breaking off.

Yume’s expression didn't not change as she spun towards the second wolf, swinging her yari up, the blade reforming as it cut through the air and into the baku’s side.

Without waiting to see the effect Yume lept into the air, traveling in a near perfect arc landing just behind Ruki. She lifted her lance, shifting back into her battle stance, her brow wrinkling only slightly as more baku creeped foreword to replace the ones she had incapacitated.

---------

The Akumu’s body shook as it attempted to rear its head back, the blacktop of the street cracking as it pushed down hard with its left legs. The Akumu’s trunk whipped back and forth as it continuously beat against the arms grasping at its tusks trying to break free. It released an angry blast of sound as the great elephant struggled and tried to draw itself backwards, against the pull of the hands.

With a mighty tug, and a slam of its trunk, the Akumu freed itself from the grasp of the hands. The elephant’s tusks were covered in fractures and cracks, like ice which had been struck with a great force. It backed quickly away from the large hands, its expression baleful as it looked up at the woman on top of the building. It warbled angrily, but seemed to think twice about continuing this fight and instead turned and made haste back through the crack in the Dreamscape. The Akumu paid no mind to either of the two girls, nor the baku they were fighting as it hurried to the center of its domain.

The Akumu lifted its trunk up into the air, and with a sound almost like that of a vacuum cleaner it pulled in air. No, it was more than that, the Akumu was seemingly pulling its very Dreamscape back into its trunk, as one might a pool of water with a straw. Yume drove her lance into the ground like a stake, and hooked an arm around Ruki as the baku around them were pulled back into the Akumu.

Once it had slurped up the Dreamscape, the Akumu let out one final cry before it faded from
view.

[The following RPed by Umbrasight and Luki]

Luki:
The vivid colours of the street lightened back to the usual sunset. And as the last cry died down, the coloured balls and the shadows of the Baku disappeared.

Ruki suddenly felt the energy draining from her, but gradually she got up as the drone and her manager approached the two girls. Natsuo had his jacket in his hand, handed it to Ruki who was in her singlet and bloomers. "Oh..." was all she managed to say before wrapping the jacket around her. Now that the heat of the battle was over, she felt the urge to melt and hide inside the long jacket.

Natsuo gave a look to Amori, "I'll call one of the VDO crew to send them to the clinic." he said though asking for confirmation from his senpai.
something
Umbrasight:
"What a mess." Amori said, running his left hand across the back of his neck. He felt both awed and sick to his stomach at the same time; the Akumu had one been free for what, a minute? And the amount of damage it had been able to do -- every window for the bottom four stories on the nearby buildings had been blasted out, and the street top was in ruins. Simply calling it a mess was quite the understatement.

Amori's attention shifted to the younger man as Natsuo addressed him.

"Yes, that is a good idea. No, actually go with them, once they finish their checkup take them home. I'll stick here and help with the coordination." Amori glanced up to the rooftop which Queen had been standing on. If she hadn't been here how bad would it have been?

"Furostomi-sama, Yokokawa-san, good work, the both of you. Quite exciting for your debut as partners, wasn't it?" Amori said with a smile. Yume's expression remained impassive, but he caught the faint drop in her shoulders all the same. The closest she ever really seemed to come to showing relief.

"Natsuo will take you two to the clinic for a physical, and after that he will take you home. The rest of the day is yours to do with what you please, but be sure to get plenty of rest. We'll all meet together tomorrow to celebrate and review. Thank you both for your hard work." He finished with a quick bow.
something
Luki:
"OK..." Ruki mumbled, feeling rather tired and ready to collapse anytime.

Natsuo nodded, "I'll message you when we get there." Within minutes, a van with the VDO logo had pulled around the corner. Natsuo didn't mention much but motioned for the two girls to follow. Ruki gave a slight yawn before following him. The tail of Natsuo's jacket was dragging behind on the floor.

Just as the van's door was shut and the vehicle disappeared around the corner, Queen had taken a small leap from the top of the building. Within seconds, her heels lightly touched the ground and she walked towards Amori. "Ice Princess's manager, correct? Your name was...?" she paused a little for him to confirm his name. "Thank you for asking the two girls to hold off the Akumu. It's unfortunate that it escaped. "
something
Umbrasight:
"Tawaraya, Amori." He said with a formal dip of his head and shoulders. "And thank you for your kind words, though I think that Metal Dia and Ice Princess are more deserving of praise."

He looked again down the street at Queen's mention of the Akumu, his expression stiffening. "We were lucky that you were so close. I shudder to think what it could have been like if you hadn't arrived so promptly." He frowned for a moment, "what was your impression of the Akumu, if you don't mind me asking?"
something
Luki:
Queen offered another smile, "Of course, it seems that thanks to their efforts none of the Baku had escaped. " Hearing his question, the tome she used previously appeared by her side again, it flipped towards a new page, showing an image of the Akumu that was fought earlier. Compared to other pages, there were a few written notes on there.

"From the brief battle, I don't see that it's behaved differently from most types." she said, meaning that it was simply wanting to escape out of the Dreamscape to find where people were populating. "As for the abilities, I would say that it has an affinity to snow and ice, or anything cold like water." She said. Just at that moment there was a short notification sound. It was her phone. Queen gave a small glance before giving a small apologetic smile.

"I'm afraid I have to leave, there was actually another appointment I had. " This was just another Akumu appearance after all, not big enough to abruptly stop all major schedules. "Since Ice Princess and Metal Dia were also participants I'm sure you will be sent all of the video feed related. Good luck, perhaps they may give more useful insight."

something

After a weekend of resting, following the afternoon of fighting the Akumu, Ruki said that she felt rather energetic enough to have two slices of bacon. Her mother gave a nod, before heading downstairs.

There were no scars or wounds when they were out of the Dreamscape, but she felt really tired, and sometimes rather feverish. But today she was fine, she assured herself. Just as she sat up in bed, Shun had walked past.

In the quiet morning she heard her younger brother grumbling. "Dammit history... 4th period." Her eyes widened and suddenly yelled, startling their mother downstairs.

"Oh mum!!" Ruki lied back down abruptly, pulling covers over her. "I"m sick!! Horribly, horribly sick! I can't go to class today!"

"Hey! That's not fair!" Shun reacted immediately from the corridor. "Mum! I'm sick, too!"

... ...

About 40 minutes later, Ruki grumbled while crunching the conpetto candy. Shun had a packet of his own, and they were both going after the orange ones specifically.

"Mgrrrrh, stupid brother." she grumbled in a low voice, drowned out by some other students that were chatting, so only her bother heard her. "Because you faked so badly we both have to go to school."

"That means it's fair. No way I'm the only one going to history class." he snorts. It was at this moment that the subway door slid open, and they walked out to the platform. Even though it took longer from their home (compared to the temporary apartment they rented near school), it seems they got to school with time to spare.

Just as the two walked through the gate, Ruki looked up for a second.

"Is it going to rain?" Shun asked.

"No,"his sister replied. "I thought I saw people looking out the window."

"Oh. By the way, do you have more plum flavoured conpetto?"

It turns out Ruki finished her packet, just as they both entered the classroom building.
