(NEW) [RP] The Empire of Celestia

Post by Arion Queen » Fri Sep 22, 2017 11:05 pm

In the quiet of the city, shadows shifted as the moon began to dip towards the horizon. The soft purple hue of the sky mixed with the stars was the passing time as the night folk headed home and the day folk began to arrive to take their place. The towering spires of the imperial palace stood against the darkness, the familiar white marble colors glinted with the final stars. A figure stood high up on a looking over the domain. One could almost time the appearance to this moment.

========

"M'lady, dawn approaches. The day folk children will be arriving at sun high. Shall we request them to be absent?" Spoke a woman whom was dressed in moderately fine clothing. The figure would turn towards the woman with a quiet sapphire gaze. It appeared exhausted. Like that of one whom had yet to see sleep, or even decent sleep for a night or two. "I would suggest you rest your majesty.." The woman spoke again as the figure stepped into the light of the candles. "Dear one, I am alright. The Empress is always on time. Tired, or not. Those children depend on those stories." The tone was gentle yet firm. The Empress, a woman of rare kindness and beauty. She extended her hand to the maid as a symbol of kindness.

"Please prepare my silver gown." Mariah said quietly. She was dressed in her white evening tunic and pants. Her lean frame, was slacken and tired. The nightmares were getting worse. Though, no one spoke of it. Not even her beloved family knew of them. She would move to the balcony of her room, as the maids ventured out to carry out their given order. Once the door shut, the muscles beneath her shirt moved as her wings slipped out. The back of the shirt was designed for her wings to spread out through slits. The wind rustled her black feathers. She inhaled softly. The scents of the capital filled her nose and she relaxed. Without another moment of hesitation, she'd jump from the balcony, as the sun kissed the land with dawn.

============
The day light market came alive as the sun rose. The empress flew over as she raced the sun. She did so every morning. Many whom first arrive were in awe. Those whom resided there had to merely glance in acknowledgement. The sounds of birds beginning to chirp, the wings of other creatures flapping in morning commute signified the beginning of a new day for the empire.

The wall closely guarded by knights, blue stones in pointed spires glowing with light providing a magical boundary around the imperial capital.

===========
As the dawn spread over the land, in what seemed to happen in a matter of seconds after it passed over the mountains edge, the Empress raced just ahead. Her powerful wings cut the air with precision and elegance. A faint whistle could be heard with sheer speed she was achieving. It started at the edge of the port and towards the mountains edge. Once there she spiraled up into the air and to the clouds before letting herself dive back down.
On silent wings I fly, age, nor strength, nor wisdom defy me. For I consume all.

"Well after a week of exploring, learning, walking, and over all traveling to try and save Zooly. I am, with out a doubt, entirely... Lost..." Alva said to himself as he oaced up an down the market square. "I can't make hide nor tail of this map..." Alva held out a crudly drawn map most likey upside down. "It's says theres a secret entrance but from what I'm taking out of it that seems like a quick way to get killed by guards. I wish Zooly was here, she's the smart one." Alva said as he kicked the dirt. Lost in a kingdom he knew literally nothing about made his hopes grow dim. He simply kept moving forward until he was stopped... Well more likely he was knocked down after walking into someone.

There stood a guard in full gear and an upset look on his face. "You might want to watch where you're going. I could've mistaken that as an attack." The guard said coldly. "Sorry to hit you sir, I was too busy looking at the map..." Then like a flash of lightning, an idea hit him. "Say, you wouldn't know where some of these places are would you?" Alva said as he handed the guard the map. The man quickly skimed it, mumbling to himself and looked back at Alva, "Youre... You're.. not serious are you?" He asked in a mocking tone. "Well of course I am, my friends life is on the line..." Alva said heroicly. The guard grew a smile on his face, "I tell you what, I don't exactly know where all these places are but I do, however know a man at the prison who may know..." The gaurd said, "Really? You do? Can you bring me to him?" Alva asked nicely. "Of course, right this way... Just make sure to keep your hands where I can see them." The guard said. "A strange request but sure..."

And thus his adventure is Celestia began...

Aenar, Commander of the Silver Knights, was awake and alert by the time the sun began to peak over the horizon. The half giant was, as always, clad in armour, with his great-axe on his back. He walked away from his training ground, leaving behind what seemed to be a battlefield. Training dummies were crushed, and sliced apart. One swing of his great axe could cut through Even a fully grown tree as if it was butter. A training dummy, even one clad in armour, was like tissue paper before him and his axe.

He entered the castle, and he was approached by one of the maids, who spoke to him in soft voice. Aenar turned his gaze to the small woman, and he Silently listened, before he turned and adjusted his walking direction, heading towards the Empress' chambers. The Empress had things to do, and his duty, as always, was to protect her, and he would do so without hesitation. He was aware that the was not in her chambers, as she had more than likely gone flying as dawn occurred, but she would return after her flight, and once that happened, he would again be able to resume protecting her.

He was aware that there were stories, and rumours about him in the capital, and even in the palace. It wasn't a surprise to him. He was obviously a half-giant, and only a few people had ever seen a member of his Kind and lived to tell about it before he came here. Add in the fact that he never spoke, save for to the Empress, and you got a recipe for rumours. A member of a mysterious, and feared race, from a distant land, and no one except for the Empress had ever heard him speak? It would have been unreasonable to expect there to NOT be rumours.

Jassin Sliviah

Jassin awoke with a yawn, his alabaster hair covering his closed eyelids. He dared to lazily open his eyes, despite the comfort of his bed telling him not to. After a long stretch that ended up in serving no purpose, the prince swung his legs over the side of the bed and attempted to rub the sleep out of his eyes. He was in his lace-trimmed linen nightshirt and pants, which he often wore to bed, but as of late he's made a habit of wearing his casual attire to bed.

Taking a few moment to contemplate if he should wait until a servant checked up on him, Jassin gathered the resolve to stand up from his bed and dress himself. He didn't quite know whether or not he had any formal meetings to attend, so he decided to simply wear his casual attire for now, as it was easier to change out of than his royal garb. Putting on his shirt and breeches, the Arion prince combed his hair as much as he could, to little avail. Finally ready for the day, Jassin stepped out onto the balcony.

There she was, flying through the sky. Jassin had noticed as of late that his mother looked more and more tired, yet she still took her morning flights. The young prince thought of it as a way to inspire the commonfolk of Celestia, to know that their just ruler was lively and well everyday. Whether this was true or not, Jassin never bothered to ask, knowing that his mother always had a reason for doing something. The small early-rising children of farmers and merchants alike pointed and cried out in joy as they watched the Empress fly overhead as their parents set up marketstalls and got ready for the new day ahead. Nevertheless, the boy worried about his mother, flying in this state of exhaustion. With a twitch of a feline ear, he turned from the balcony and headed into the halls of the palace.

The halls of the palace were huge. It was made this way to accommodate the large beastial forms of the royalty on those dreaded nights every three months or so. Despite this thought, Jassin made sure to stay cheery as he made his way to his sister's quarters. No doubt a servant had already tried knocking on the door. Either the prince's older sister was still asleep, or was already on her way to meet with their mother by the time she got back from her morning flight. Knocking on the door, the young prince called out, "Hey sis, you up yet?"

===================================

Raylen Adrianus

"Formation, men!" He shouted to those behind him. Great avian beasts arranged themselves into a shape of an arrowhead as they passed over the military training grounds, high above. One young lad's griffin faltered as it missed a beat, drawing dangerously close to another rider. Narrowing his eyes at the young rider, Raylen could do nothing but watch and see if anything was to unfold, and if he needed to save another student. The young man, who almost failed to control his griffin was able to pull it back on track, avoiding the rider he was previously on a collision course for. Raylen motioned for them to land in the designated zones, which each of them did so in a relatively neat fashion. "That will be all for this morning! Wash yourselves up, and meet back in the training grounds for combat training with lieutenant Lief." A line of "Yes sir!" Followed the captain as he dismissed the new griffin riders-in-training. Early morning flight training was a new part added to the training regimen, which was honestly added for leisure on the trainers' behalf.

Raylen took off his steel winged helm and put it under his arm, patting Seraph as he watched the sky. There she was, their great Empress, flying like an born angel in the air. Looking to Seraph, he equipped his helmet once again, and took flight. It was always hard to track where the Empress would fly to next, but she would always break the clouds, entering the realm of the sky before returning to her own kingdom on the earth. Following her up into the cloud, the captain of the griffin riders hid as much as you could with a half-ton lion-eagle. As the Empress dived back down, Raylen accompanied her, hoping not to startle her.

"So, are there any meetings I need to worry about, your highness?" Raylen said with a smile as they dove, invisible from under his steel helm. While it was the Silver Knights' job to protect the Empress while she was on the ground, it was up to the riders to escort her while she was in the air. At least, that's what Raylen always believed.
I was walking along, minding my business, when out of that orange colored sky...

Aphra Sliviah sat at the dressing room table in her room, examining herself in the mirror. The Princess was the image of a healthy, growing woman with rich red hair that flowed down to just below her shoulder blades. Her vibrant amber eyes complimented her overall beauty, as well as adding to the serene calm that Aphra's gaze gave. As she twiddled the comb through her hair in an attempt to find the best style Aphra's thoughts began to linger on what her day had in store for her. Eventually, the Princess settled upon leaving her hair loose with a few carefully planned curls for a slightly informal yet appropriate style.

Whilst her mother was off telling stories to the local children, the job of dealing with any issues that presented themselves to the palace would fall to Aphra. The Princess didn't expect anything too major to head her way, but when the affairs of the Empire were concerned she'd been told to always keep an open mind. Aphra's lack of knowledge concerning the issues in the Capital also concerned her greatly. She imagined that once her mother had returned from storytelling that a trip to the market would be in order. The knocking on her bedroom door broke Aphra's concentration as she listened for who was talking.

Upon hearing the sound of her brother's voice, a smile crept on Aphra's face.

"Yes, I'm awake Jassin." Aphra replied with a slightly melodious tone to her voice.

The Princess then made her way towards the door, knowing better than to keep her brother waiting. Growing up in the Palace was lonely which often meant that the only company the royal siblings had aside from servants were each other. As the door opened, Aphra noted what her brother was wearing. It seemed that he'd opted for a somewhat casual style like her. However, in the Princess' mind, her grey dress still retained a sense of formality.

"You're looking nice today, little brother. How are you?" Aphra asked, pleasantly smiling at him.

Aaron Chiampol

It was a beautiful morning, as Aaron was inspecting and stocking his wares. The newest batch had arrived yesterday, with the requested silk for the empress. A smile dawned upon his face as he saw the fabric. "How can they stand to walk around in that?" he asked as he carefully lifted the sheet of silk from the box it was held in. "I'd be afraid to move just for not breaking it," he added a few seconds later and put the silk back in the box.

Among his other wares were more mundane things, local venison, pots and cutlery, cloth and the such. His business was growing steadily, and he was quite happy with how everything were, but lacked the assurance of a helping hand. His tails swung around like those of a happy dogs, although it was more boredom than happiness.

After making sure everything was in order, he took the box of silk, and locked his door, as he made his way towards the castle. Today seemed like it would be a good day.

Devon Therium Sar'geth and Anya Lunabloom

For how long had they been running now? Neither could remember. It'd been too long since they had had their assailant, Jason, at a safe distance. Devon was pale, even for him, looking more like a ghost than a living being. "I can see the end of the forest," Anya said with hope in her voice. Devon's only reply was a slight nod. The magic he had used had taken more energy than he had thought, and he was about to collapse. But he kept going, if nothing, then for Anya's sake. If she saw him collapsing now she'd surely give up. He couldn't risk that.

They'd been on the run for seventy-some years now, from what they could tell, and Jason had chased them for most of that time. And he was about to catch them now. They'd heard rumors that the emperor was less hostile towards their kind than the Elvish king was. They were ready to sacrifice everything on those rumors.

Finally they broke the tree-line. And there it was, the imperial city. It was huge compared to what they had seen so far, but it had to be here, it just had to. Behind them they heard Jason coming closer, whacking vegetation where he went. They ran, or rather walked as Devon had no energy to run, towards the city.

After a while longer than expected Jason broke free of the forest-line behind them. "Get back here!" he yelled as he set in pursuit. Alarming nearby guards, then their worst nightmare was made reality, an elvish guard came towards them.

Jason Shyleaf

Jason was tired, the week long track on the two dark-kin had taken a lot of his energy. They had headed towards the Imperial city and Jason couldn't allow that. One of the guards, an elf, walked towards them after he had shouted. "Finally some luck" he thought as the two Dark-kin stopped up. The mage one, Devon was weak and lacked stamina to power his spells, Jason could see it from here.

"Not another step, bounty hunter" the elf shouted out. "We do not welcome you here," he added a few moments later. "Give them to me," Jason said with a stern voice, but the guard looked at him with just as stern eyes. "My duty is to protect the citizens of Celestia, not feed some old guys hatred," the guards said and stood in front of the dark-kin.

Jason was baffled, "Are you defying you king's orders?" he asked the guard, "He might be my king," the elf said, "but he is not my boss. If you are unhappy with that, bounty hunter, then fight me."

Devon Therium Sar'geth

The guard was on their side? Devon was baffled. The guard and Jason began discussing something, Devon couldn't quite hear it, but caught that it was more political than anything, the word king was used too often for anything else. "I demand an audience with your empress then" Jason yelled in the guards face. More Devon didn't notice before he passed out.

Jason, Devon and Anya

"I am not the one to request that to, but hand over your weapons and I'll allow you to enter the city." The guard said. Noticing Anya sitting with a motion less Devon in her arms Jason couldn't resist, "Couldn't he have passed out 5 minutes ago?!"

Jason gave up his weapons, or most of them and followed the guards towards the castle, Devon and Anya, Anya refused to move from Devon's side, was escorted to the local healer, where Devon could regain his strength. For the first time in their lives they weren't caged or hunted, but would it last?

Tick tock tick tock...
The rythmic ticks of clocks had always been heard inside of Skyde's 'laboratory' as all of her clocks were synced, even the watch on her wrist. She hadn't slept last night, her interests rested upon the gunpowder that was used in fireworks, she knew the explosive properties but what if that could be used for something else. A servent walked into the room, "Excuse me ma-" he looked around in amazement, various clocks and paintings on the walls, crossbows made to load another arrow by themselves, bows that were easier to pull but still held the same strength. She held up one finger, before a puff of smoke came from her desk, she sighed and turned around, her chair rotated without her having to pick it up, "Yes? What is it?" She asked, taking the monocle from her eye. Her soft voice was calm, lacking any sign of being tired, "It's just that I was told to tell you that you should head home and sleep, you haven't left this room for a day." The servant said, "It's only been-" her gaze rested on one of the various clocks in her room, "Oh.. it's so funny how I can lose track of time in this room. I'll head home later tonight, I just have to finish something." The servant nodded and left, she looked at the almost empty pouch of gunpowder and sighed, she sat there wondering what to do.
All hail the Glow Cloud...

Mirah seemed at peace in the air, even though her senses alerted her to the Griffin Rider Captain, "ah, good morning Captain. Fair morning is it not? As far as meetings none today, keep the riders in shape. I'll be inspecting the troops soon." The empress said as she dove. Just before hitting the ground she spread her black wings soaring over the town at unimaginable speeds. Her frame spiraled upwards as she came back to the palace and landed gracefully in the courtyard. Her wings would fold in neatly as the knights at the door seemed unphased by the ripple of wind she created.

She took a deep breath her eyes opening revealing their stunning color, as she outstretched her arms and turned to look at the vast white oak tree that stood a few hundred feet from the door, it's pale bark and vibrant green leaves made it look glorious. She smiled lightly as she recalled the first time ever entering the courtyard. The Emperor welcomed her, along with Lady Blackhawk. Her eyes shifted to the sky then as she made her way inside.

Servants lined up to receive the Empress, and she offered them all a kind and gentle smile. Her feline-elf ears twitched as she moved through the large corridors. She had much to tend to, such as the life of an Empress would be. The matters of the kingdom often rested on her, but she did her best to tend to them. Most of the kingdoms under her watch were self-sufficient leaving her with only the capitol to worry over. Much of her time except for a small portion, was dedicated to the paperwork. She often still went to read to the children in the gardens at noon, and had her routine through the gardens after, pruning her plants, and tending to the trees. She first dealt with the grind.

Her frame weaved it's way to the great study, where she found herself sitting behind a mahogany desk, with paintings of the prior leaders hanging on the walls around.
On silent wings I fly, age, nor strength, nor wisdom defy me. For I consume all.

Aenar again heard murmuring from the maids, and he again silently changed his direction, until he arrived at the Great Study. He knocked twice upon the door, before he opened it, and he entered the room. He did not speak, Which was no surprise, and he instead merely assumed his position behind the Empress, and slightly to the side of her, putting himself closer to the door, as a defense in case anyone managed to get to this point, in an attempt to attack the Empress.

Elessar was observing the training of some new forces to their forces. He did not always watch, but he liked to do so at times. He understood the importance of knowing the situation the forces were in, how well they were trained, what areas they specialized in, etc, so that he could best make decisions that fully utilized their talents when the time came that their talents were needed.

The elf watched for a while, before he nodded slightly, pleased with what he saw. He then turned, and made his way out of the training yards, before he headed towards the Palace. He had seen the Empress flying earlier, and he wished to speak with her, to receive any instructions she might have, or simply to get a feel for anything in the Palace that he should know about.
