Airic laughed "Hmm I don't know, maybe I've been inhaling too much paint fumes..." he replied playfully. He nudged her lightly as they crossed the bridge and into the park. He passed by the bush filled with white roses and he headed down the cobblestone path that led towards home. "I hardly even notice the passing of time," he pointed out. He gazed at her with a gentle smile, studying her face closely as he took in all the gentle features. She was stunning as always.

Crypt sighed softly, knowing she would deny this idea. He leaned over to press a gentle kiss against the side her head. "I know...I can't help but feel guilty," he murmured. At least he put it out there as an option for her should she choose to, he would be fine with that. He smiled faintly "All these years and you're still just as stubborn," he commented. There had been a time long ago he tried to convince her to leave him. To live a life without him in it. The public would've seen her as a hero then, he was sure. The curse of immortality is no one ever forgets what happens... he thought, the humans who knew him had certainly died off or at the least were old by now. In time his name would be forgotten by the humans he was sure. The vampire would hold tightly to it though.

Mathias looked down at the towel and shrugged, tossing it across his shoulder. He walked over to her "Yeah of course, just...cleaning the kitchen up a bit. It was looking a bit dusty," he chuckled softly. He scratched the back of his head as he gazed at her steadily. "How are you?" he asked. She looked beyond tired that was for sure.

"That could be it, maybe you should ventilate the room more properly." Lucy didn't know much about painting, but she did know one needed proper airflow. Those fumes smelled after awhile and she heard they could make people sick. Humans mostly, but she knew it was possible for a vampire to fall ill too...Nicholas had gotten sick when she had been human... She was only teasing him, but she couldn't help but worry a little. Worrying came with marriage and she wouldn't have it any other way for it was nice to have someone to worry for. "At least one of us is relaxed. I always feel it passing..."Every day she failed to get something done the pressure deepend, but she didn't want to worry him even more than he already did so she kept this to herself. For his sake she kept a lot of things to herself. "You're watching me..."

"I have to be, look who I'm married to." Pyra pointed out and not for the first time. It felt like something of a catchphrase for her, but it was a reminder he needed. He was a stubborn man and she knew he felt guilty, but she held absolutely no regrets. The past was the past and though there were times she wished she could change, for her family, she accepted that she couldn't. "Hey, on the bright side, I'll never be able to say that I don't have an interesting life." Life could be frustrating and painful, but never once has it been boring or without purpose. She worked every day to make him see that, sometimes he went backwards but she would never stop fighting for him. Just as she would never stop fighting for their daughter, even if it had to be from a distance for awhile. "One day you'll be free Crypt Augustine..."

Kota frowned at him. "Dusty? You cleaned it the other day..." she shook her head, she would never understand him but it was admittedly adorable. He fussed over the little messes, but he himself always looked a bit out of sorts. His hair was always a mess for example, she noticed some of his jeans had tears in them too though she couldn't say much about that one. Some of her jeans had that style. "I'm tired...tired of tired..."

Airic was silent for a moment as he gazed at her gently, he smiled warmly. "Sorry, you just look stunning as always..." he said softly. It was always nice to see her, especially in these recent months when her visits home were farther in between. He wasn't upset by any means, he understood completely, it only meant he valued their time together. He cherished every moment he was able to stand at her side. "Come on, let's get you home..." he said with a soft laugh and continued on the way home.

"Well...I suppose I can't argue with that," Crypt spoke gently and he smiled. It was a good thing both of them were stubborn, he believed their stubbornness is a huge part in why they were here today. It was why they were still together despite what happened in the past, the reason they were able to find their daughter again. "Hmm no I suppose not. Our life has far too much going on to ever be boring." There was always something going on in their lives, a crazy road it has been. He gazed at her gently and nodded a little bit. It was reassuring to hear those words, even if he didn't believe them. In his eyes he would never be free, he would never be forgiven, but that was okay. He had accepted that fate for himself a long time ago, he would not accept that fate for his wife and daughter though. He looked away "Let's get back before the city wakes..." he commented softly.

Mathias chuckled and held up his hands in a 'what can I say' sort of manner. He smiled at her though it faded just in the slightest. "Ah...I imagine so. You should get some rest, it's been a long...while for you," he smiled a little "I promise I'll stop cleaning rooms that don't need to be cleaned." He chuckled lightly and stepped forward to give her a small, friendly hug.

Lucy raised an eyebrow, he knew how she felt about things like that but she let him get away with the compliment this time. They haven't seen each other in what felt like forever so he deserved a break. She smiled faintly though a strange feeling filled her and the smirk faded as she looked off into the distance. This was something she felt only when the one who changed her was near but that was silly, he was dead. Had been for a long time. I'm more exhausted than I thought... After a moment, and some self convincing, she shook her head and looked at Airic with a small nod so he wouldn't worry. "A hot shower sounds nice." She mentioned quietly, trying to remember when the last time she had one of those was. The showers at the office were efficient, but it wasn't quite the same as one's own shower.

"No, you cant, because I will not let you argue." Pyra pointed out. Whenever it came to things like this she let him have no say about it. Maybe this was mean, but she didn't want him to let these doubts and concerns eat away at him. It would do him no good and she wanted nothing but happiness for him. Even if he didn't think it was entirely possible. "We are just as busy now as we were before, though I'm grateful I'm able to keep an eye on you more now than then. Makes my job of keeping you out of trouble easier." She did understand why he didn't want her there in the past, he didn't wish her to see the horrible things he had to do and didn't want harm to come to her, but there had been times where she wouldn't see him for a couple of days. That was different now. "You are the one taking your time here." Pyra teased, quickening her step. The city wouldn't sleep forever.

Kota sighed, he really needed to relax more but she knew he wouldn't with her parents back. They wouldn't kill himunless he hurt her, but it wouldn't be easy to convince him for the time being. "I will...but need...my bedding..."she said in the middle of yawning, her body arguing against the movement of getting up but after a moment she managed to get to her feet and ended up right in a hug. What the hug was for she didn't know, but she didn't question it either as she pat him on the shoulder and moved towards the hallway. Briefly she thought of staying in her own room but...she just couldn't do it. Not now. "...weirdo."

Airic didn't seem to notice anything off. He only smirked mischievously and swept Lucy off her feet, carrying her bridal style the rest of the way home. He could already see their home in the distance. It somehow was a nicer sight to see when she was with him. "One hot shower on the way!" he exclaimed with a laugh, his eyes gleaming.

Crypt chuckled warmly and leaned over to press a brief kiss against her cheek to express his thanks. She was stubborn and fierce, the one person that held him together. She kept him afloat when the world threatened to drown him. He laughed and suddenly took off in a sort of jog "Mmm perhaps but I shall be the first one there," he teased. They couldn't slack off now and be out during the day, it was too risky. It was a miracle no one had spotted them yet.

Mathias watched her go and he sighed a little, turning back to the kitchen. He wasn't sure what he intended on doing now. He wasn't tired enough to sleep, if anything he felt like every hair was standing on end. His eyes flashed a bright yellow and he felt the familiar ache in his body, the wolf side of him crying out to escape but trapped by the vampire shell. He grimaced and walked over to the sink, leaning over it and splashing cold water on his face. All his muscles tensed and for a moment he couldn't move, not until the tension eased away. It's just all this tension in the air... he reminded himself. Her parents being around certainly did little to help him, but he was happy for her.

(Sorry for the shorter replies this time, ran out of things to say. XD )

Before Lucy could move forward any further she found her feet leaving the ground, strong arms pulling her closer as he picked her up. He was silly at times, but she loved all these little things about him. "My legs work perfectly fine, I could have made it these last few yards you know." She told him, looking at the house that was so foreign and yet so familiar to her. It was as neglected by her as her poor husband was. When they first got married she had come up with so many plans for their future home but now she was just so busy that she had no time. Another reason she should probably take some time off at some point, so they could do all the things they discussed. All their dreams. "Poor house..."

Pyra watched him jog ahead, biting back a small laugh. The man certainly had odd ways, but as long as they had moved on from their previous topic she didn't care for it meant that he was distracted from his darker thoughts even for a small moment. "You would like that wouldn't you?" She smirked at the back of his head, pressing off the ground into a jog and catching up with him effortlessly. The hotel wasn't far now, but she would take this little race of theirs seriously. "I hope you know you get nothing out of this if you win."

Kota opened the closet and pulled out the folded bedsheets, smoothing the pillow case as it was on top. Mathias needed someone to talk to and if she had the energy she would stay up, but she sadly didn't. It was times such as this that made her wish he would go fix things with miss Claire, that way he would have someone else to talk to. He was stubborn about that situation though and she stopped trying to push as she used to, but the thought still crept up from time to time. She pushed it aside for now and closed the closet, moving back towards the livingroom. Wolfy was back in the kitchen again and she hoped he wasn't cleaning up more invisible dirt but she didn't take the time to look, instead setting up her make shift bed. "You mope too much, Wolfy. We're not getting a cat." No he never spoke about getting a cat, but sometimes her random comments made him laugh. Or she liked to think he found them funny anyway.

(No worries, I still have sickly brain so I don't think I did too good either. >_<)

Airic carried her up to the house and managed to balance her in his arms and open the front door. He glanced at her with a small grin "Nonsense, this is your time off. It is my job to make sure you relax completely..." he replied with a short laugh. He stepped into their home and nudged the door shut behind him. He peered into the dark home and he felt a small twinge of sadness, it looked kind of gloomy in here. He turned his head a little to gently nuzzle her "Welcome home..." he said softly. Standing inside their house with her now made his heart throb but certainly not in a bad way. He smiled and gently set her down.

Crypt rounded the corner, the top of the Hotel coming into view, they were close. He looked at Pyra and pursed his lips "Nothing if I win? That seems a bit backwards doesn't it? The winner ought to get at least a little something," he replied with an amused smile. He let his concerns and doubts roll off his shoulders, instead focusing on the friendly little competition they were having. Which of course he very much intended on winning.

Mathias moved towards the living room, lingering in the kitchen doorway. A wide grin slipped across his lips, a small laugh escaped. "No cat? Dang, I was really hoping we could adopt one and name him Mr. Whiskers or something cliche like that. He smooth back his hair, watching her set up the make shift bed. He wasn't surprised she wasn't sleeping in her room, he didn't blame her. Even he felt the desire to avoid it, as if it was tainted with bad air. He tucked his hands into his pockets and smiled faintly.

(Creativity struggles is real. DX )

"Walking isn't going to hurt that, neither will opening a door." Lucy muttered, watching him struggle for a moment to open the door to their home. It was by no means empty, but it had an air of emptiness to it. A sadness that wouldn't leave, and she knew she was to blame for it. They had only lived in this home for a short time before she took her position, perhaps she should've waited a little longer but someone else would have stepped up and who's to say they wouldn't have been a worse leader? Or a better one. "I can smell your art supplies from here." She smirked teasingly, deflecting from the gloom that currently filled the air as she found her footing and reached over to turn the light on in their little entryway. "Well I see you haven't taken over the entryway...yet."

Pyra stayed at his side, watching him closely for any sudden changes in his pace. He was a tricky one, she had to keep a close eye on him or he would be gone before she knew it. "It wasn't even a proper challenge." She told him, easing herself forward until she was just ever so slightly in front of him. If he thought he was going to win easily he had another thing coming. "I'd say you'll be lucky enough to sleep on the bed for that head start of yours."

Kota settled down on the couch, pulling her blankets around her and tucking the edge under her chin. They weren't warm since they'd been put back in the closet, but they were pretty thick and would get there soon enough. Normally she slept with a thin blanket, she didn't usually get cold, so this was a strange adjustment for her. "You would make me take care of 'Mister Whiskers' all by myself. You're lazy." She huffed as she looked at him over the back of the couch. He was quite the opposite of lazy, he had to put up with her and fixed up stuff around the house...but she was pretending otherwise. For the time being. Admittedly it would be interesting to see him take care of something as delicate and small as a kitten or a puppy even, but she quickly waved away the thought. Their life was crazy, more so now with that Damian guy after her, and she didn't want to put any living thing in harms way. Not even Mathias himself, but she knew already that he wouldn't leave. "Comfy..."

[Very much real struggle. DX]

Airic laughed "I'll admit...I should've opened up some windows or something," he agreed with a wide grin. He moved through the house to start opening up a few of the windows to get some fresh air in the home. The air was stuffy and even if she was teasing him, the smell of paint and charcoal was evident in the air nonetheless. "Yet is the key word!" he called from the living room, poking his head around to peer at her in the entryway. He beamed "You should see the living room..." he commented almost sheepishly. Admittedly he had begun to stack some of the pieces of artwork in the corners of the room. Only because he didn't have anywhere else to place them. The art room had grown full. After all he only hung up the pieces he could claim he was proud of. Everything else was just artwork he admired for a bit before starting anew.

Crypt scoffed "Now that seems like a rather cruel punishment!" he exclaimed and edged forward as well to meet her pace. A sly smirk trailed across his lips, it was clear from this look alone he fully intended to suddenly take off. He intended on winning this little race but he knew she was fully capable of beating him. She always seemed to be a bit faster than him, not to mention she certainly wasn't going to let him win without a fight, no matter how hard he tried to prove otherwise.

Mathias walked over to her and laughed "Hey now, I'm not that lazy!" he defended himself. He peered down at her and smiled a little more gently. He chuckled and shook his head, lightly poking her on the forehead. "Get some sleep you dork..." he teased with a warm chuckle. He pulled back and started to move away. He wasn't tired himself so he figured he'd busy himself with something while she rested. Even though neither of them said it, he was certainly going into a sort of a 'guard dog' mode. He would ensure she got to sleep safely.

Lucy wasn't going to disagree, he needed the fresh air more than she did. He was always surrounded by the stuff, it was a wonder he hadn't grown tired of it yet. "You didn't stain my couch did you?" She asked accusingly, ready to fight him if he had indeed gotten a single mark on her beautiful cream colored couch. Perhaps she wasn't home very much but she loved this couch, it was comfortable. Her eyes narrowed as she rounded the corner and carefully inspected every single inch of it, satisfied when she found nothing before she took the time to glance at the rest of the room. Paintings were in every corner, she could barely see the floor anymore. "Well we will need to figure this out eventually...but for now you're safe since my couch is safe." She smirked, a bit curious as to how much more of the house he had taken over. "You're becoming a hoarder my dear."

Pyra knew that smirk of his. Every expression he has ever had was stored in her memory and there wasn't much he could slip by her. She imagined it was much the same for him with her. They knew each other so well, maybe a little too well some would claim but their opinions mattered so little to her. A mischievous smirk of her own crossed her lips as she acted like she was going to reply, only to suddenly take off into a full on run before he could set his plan into motion. She never claimed to play fair; she was the sort of wife to make things difficult for her husband and she enjoyed every minute of it.

Kota's forehead scrunched up as he poked her, a sound of discontent escaping her lips as she burrowed even further under her blankets. He wasn't very nice to her, but she was too tired to retaliate. Maybe she would later, after she slept. Sleep sounded nice. "No...lazy wolfy..."she mumbled softly, her breathing slowing with each second that ticked by. All her concerns drifted away as she allowed herself to relax and forget about recent events, her parents and Mathias a prominent thought in her mind as she fell into a peaceful slumber.
