The Rising [Reserved Icy]

Post by DreamsandReality » Fri Jan 27, 2017 4:37 am

It's the year 2020,

Eleutheros was once a proud city; known for it's large population and it's dense forest. Thriving with humans and scattered with wildlife, it truly was the city everyone wished to be. That is until the creatures of the night crept into the city, at first unseen and unnoticed by the mortal eye. Then, with an army quite unlike anything the citizens have seen, they rose up from the shadows and claimed the city for their own. They destroyed anything that was left of the existing government and quickly had a wall built to keep the humans trapped within, a magnificent palace was soon created atop a hill, overlooking the entire city. These creatures drained the blood of humans, terrorized all who lived and breathed, becoming known as vampires.

The Officials were the first ruling group of vampires, guiding what they saw as their city. They rose up in attempts to keep the people of the city safe from the outside world, a world that has fallen apart to wars. They are a large organization of vampires that built up a large palace-like building as a home, to look over the city and there, they ruled it for the longest time. They have no single leader among the Officials, coming together to agree on decisions.

Yet their reign did not last forever, a stronger group of vampires rose above them and 'claimed the throne'. These were known as the Rebels and in some ways they were better than the Officials, maintaining a certain level of peace among the people and vampires alike, however they were more cruel and harsh in their ways. Eleutheros quickly became known as 'The Vampire City'. Feeling trapped the citizens must make their choice...join their captors or rise up against them all.

A single enemy has risen up to destroy the very thing that has taken the city and it's people. The Rebels and Officials will have to join together if they wish to hold their city together, all the while fighting against the rising human rebellions. In the end everything....must....fall.

The question is...

Whose side will you take?

Your Last Post~

Airic led Lucy through the halls and towards her room again, sensing his brother's presence as they drew near. So he is awake... he thought with a soft smile, it'd be nice to see his brother again. Yet a small part of him was worried that maybe his brother was still violently ill, that Lucy's blood was only a temporary fix. He shoved these thoughts aside, determined to see the bright side of things. That always seemed to work for Nicholas, might as well give it a try right? He shook his head a little bit and slowed down as they approached her door, tilting his head a bit. He could hear movement from within the room, glancing at Lucy for a moment.

Evelyn watched Scarlet rise to her feet and swiftly throw the cup away, she stayed where she was for the moment. "Farewell..." she said lightly, offering a slight wave of departure as Scarlet turned away to leave. Evelyn certainly didn't stop her, she had to get home and get some rest before the moon rose above the wall. She slowly rose to her feet as well and tossed the cup into a trash can, stretching her arms far above her head. She closed her eyes for a moment and stifled a yawn.

My Last Post~

Lucy kept her gaze forward as he pulled her along, feeling a few stares on her back that were easily ignored. To show them any sort of discomfort would be the end of her, they would strike before she could blink. After a moment she shook her head and glanced at Airic briefly, still trying to figure him out but she was no closer to an answer than a few minutes ago. It probably didn't even matter she decided, her gaze falling on her door as she gently pulled her hand out of his. There was little chance Nicholas would find it odd, they used to hold her hands when she was little, but...she just felt a need to create a bit of distance between them. She sighed and opened her door, entering the room quietly. "Nick?"

Scarlet heard the parting words of farewell, a faint smile crossing her lips as she took a small pause and glanced back at her. "Bye." She replied politely, offering half of a wave before she turned and walked away. Evelyn was certainly interesting and she was being as nice as she was because she wanted to learn about her more. Creating an enemy of her wouldn't do the trick. Maybe this would end well. Her smile turned into a light smirk as she vanished into the city.

Airic didn't seem to think much of it when she pulled her hand from his, too caught up with the task at hand. Besides, it was nothing more than a friendly gesture. Leading her through the hallways as they had done when she was little. Those times seemed so far away now, such happy and pleasant times they were. Of course no time is ever perfect but it had certainly been some of their better years. He stood just slightly behind her, peering over her to look into the room. After a moment he followed her into the room, his gaze falling on his twin. A light smile traced his lips, happy to see that his brother was seemingly awake and well.

Nicholas was sitting against the headboard of the bed, his legs drawn close to his chest, his arms wrapped tightly around them. He looked as if he were in a weird state of confusion, fear, and exhaustion. He was staring at the wall across from him with a blank look, his head tilted just slightly to the side. When the door opened he jumped a little and quickly turned his head to peer at his visitors. To his relief it was Airic and Lucy, clearly happy to see them. His eyes glowed brightly, seemingly having more life and strength to him than he had before. "Hey guys..." he greeted softly, relaxing again. He had felt so utterly alone in those few moments by himself, lost even, though perhaps that's what happened when one was used to always having someone right there with them.

Evelyn simply watched Scarlet go, dipping her head slightly in her final farewell. She watched as the stranger disappeared into the crowds and dark streets. She stretched her arms above her head and without another word she turned on her heel and headed the opposite direction. She was tired and hungry, though food would have to wait for the time being. She needed to get to sleep now if she had any hopes of her nightly mission to be successful.

(Ah geez, forgot Mathias's Cs. ^^' I'll post for him nonetheless though. XD)

Mathias was lurking on one of the many slanted rooftops of an abandoned building, his sharp gaze scanning the streets below him. Who or what he was looking for he'd never know...but he was quite comfortable there anyways. He enjoyed spending these small evenings lurking on the rooftops of buildings, peering out over the city. It was the only shred of peace he had left these days. Stuck in turmoil and misery, knowing an eternity lingered ahead of him. He brushed these thoughts aside and slowly rose to his feet with a balance he hadn't had before. Over the years he's gotten quite adapted to this odd hybrid life.

Lucy smiled faintly as she moves towards her vanity and sat on the chair, pulling her right leg under her as she had her left leg bent on the chair in front of her. "Air-...Airic just took me to go get something to eat. Replenish my energy, yeah." She muttered, looking towards the mirror. Her eyes were droopy and had dark circles under them, a clear sign that she didn't get much sleep. Ever. Who had time for it... outside of injury, when there were more important things to take care of like surviving? It was a harsh world and it wouldn't get the best of her. She closed her eyes, shifting on the chair to get a bit more comfortable. Her bed would have been softer but, she was positive Airic wanted to be next to his brother and at the moment she didn't want to be near Airic. Hopefully they wouldn't notice that she was distant, she preferred to dwell on the negative for a couple of minutes. "...how do you feel?" She asked softly, looking at Nicholas briefly before she looked away again.

[Oh, poor Mathias. ;-; XD Okay!]

Adalei knew it wasn't exactly safe to be wandering around a city full of potentially...blood thirsty vampires, especially since it was getting late, but she didn't fear them. It wasn't like they could hurt her...of course she wasn't being smug or anything. She just had faith in the necklace around her neck, that it would protect her as long as she had faith in it. Just as her grandmother had told her when she gave it to her the day she decided to make this journey. So far it's done its job well. Hmm, just where could he be? She wondered as she looked around, avoiding the people she spotted. It didn't matter if they were human or not, she didn't want to take such risks. This task was enough of a risk seeing as she was looking for a vampire, it was quite the irony and made her sigh everytime she thought of it. Adalei paused on the sidewalk, reading through a notebook stuffed with extra pieces of paper she had in her hands for what had to be the millionth time.

Airic cheerfully approached the bed and sat down beside his brother, reaching over without a word to pull him into a tight hug. "You scared me senseless, don't ever do that to me again Nicky..." he scolded but his tone was gentle, as if afraid his voice could suddenly shatter his twin. Nicholas laughed quietly and lightly patted his brother on the back, pushing him away enough to look at him. He tilted his head and smiled "I'm fine Airic..." he reassured his brother. "We'll have to let Crypt know..." he pointed out quietly. Airic stiffened a little and nodded, looking away. Nicholas peered over at Lucy for a moment, lightly biting his lip. He still felt awful to say the least but at least she seemed alright. "I'm doing much better thank you...and you?" he asked, his eyes gleaming with the same worry he always held over her. Airic sat back against the headboard beside his brother, one leg dangling off the side of the bed.

(I'll make his CS when I find proper time. ^^' )

Mathias's sharp gaze zeroed in on a figure walking along the sidewalk, seemingly keeping her distance from the other life forms that wandered about. He simply stayed where he was and watched her with a small hint of curiosity. Lately these days though he tried to keep his interest in anything and anyone to a minimal, it was too much work to figure out his emotions that seemed to only ever lead to a train wreck. He had a light gray shirt on, barely seen as it was covered by a zipped up black jacket that drifted softly in the breeze. His worn jeans were dotted with old, dry blood. He certainly wasn't as well groomed as he used to be, even his hair was ruffled as if he had just woken from sleep.

Lucy blocked out their voices, resting her chin on her knee as she stared out the open window blankly. Soon the sun would set and then she was to be stuck inside the Palace for the night. The single place she hated the most, but she supposed it was better than being out there dealing with a Nightwalker. Although she didn't fear them, she didn't like to spend time around them either. They were vicious, and when in groups, even small ones, practically unstoppable. Her eyes closed as she thought back to the Nightwalker that bit her, she had thought he was alone but two of his friends appeared out of nowhere and grabbed her. Luckily Airic hadn't seen the bites they gave her, before someone helped her. She blinked as she came back to reality just in time to hear the brothers say they would have to let Crypt know about this. A thought that made her panic just a bit. He would want to know how he got better and if they told her it had been her blood that healed him she feared Crypt would want to study her even further. To use her any time a vampire fell ill...and that meant she would be bitten over and over again. The idea was enough to make her feel ill, and she hoped the brothers hadn't sensed her fear when she looked up after Nicholas addressed her. "I'm...I'm fine Nick..."she mumbled.

[Okay! Sounds good. c:]

Adalei felt watched, but she was human and she knew her scent made that clear so she wasn't that surprised. Not to even mention that her blood seemed to attract them more than the average human's for some weird reason so there was that. She clenched her long red skirt tightly in her left hand as she held her silver necklace in her right. A...jumpy girl by nature it was hard for her to be here, but luckily she did have her grandmother's stubborn side. Whenever she put her mind to anything she saw it to the end. It helped to think of her family who had been supportive of the fifteen year old's decision for this trip, she wouldn't have made it this far without them. She smiled faintly as she reassured herself, glancing at the different buildings as she debated if she wanted to ask around for information. There were a few risks to that though she knew.

(Oh that would be awfully cruel of me wouldn't it? Have Crypt find out and all....XD)

Nicholas gazed at Lucy and smiled gently, seemingly relieved. "Alright..." he said softly, feeling a small nudge from his brother. The pair of them exchanged glances before Nicholas stirred and rose from the bed slowly. "We should get going, you'll need your rest." Nicholas said lightly, gazing at Lucy with a small smile. Airic watched his brother carefully as he got out of bed, making sure his twin wouldn't suddenly collapse. Once he was satisfied that his brother could stand on his own two feet, he too, rose from the bed and stood beside him. His gaze landed on Lucy curiously, his head falling into a small tilt. He could tell something was off, something different than before though. It made him curiously but he didn't wish to pester her with questions nor worry his brother. The two of them would have to get some rest as well before their night patrol, unless of course Airic could convince one of the other Rebels to take the night shift this time, allow Nicholas time to rest completely.

Mathias felt the soft prick of his fangs against his lower lip, his eyes flashing a bright red. He took a deep breath and closed his eyes, the fangs sinking back and the red fading. He leapt from the building with ease and landed on the ground with an early inaudible thump. He watched Adalei for a few moments, wandering a little closer but not making it too obvious he was following. Curiosity often got the best of him these days. He reached up and combed his fingers through his hair to make himself look half-what presentable. He may not care about much anymore but he did care about putting some effort into looking like a decent 'human-being'. Mostly because he had been raised in an age where it was important for proper appearance, even if it wasn't always attainable.

[Yes, yes that would be awfully cruel of you. ;-; XD]

Lucy went back to staring out the window, simply nodding when Nicholas said they would be leaving. If they wanted to who was she to stop them? Besides, after Nicholas fed from her resting was probably the best thing for her. She did need to be one hundred percent while here and maybe she would manage to push her fear away. If Crypt learned the truth about Nicholas' recovery then she'd leave before he could find her, she refused to be a test subject again. A means of medicine and food for a...species she despised, she would leap out of a window before that happened. Yet there was no use in dwelling on it too much now, but she would have to keep on her toes for awhile. She rubbed her temples and glanced at the Twins briefly, studying them a moment before she got up and went to her dresser to get her pajamas. Perhaps it was wrong to act so distant with them all of a sudden like this, but she doubted they would notice. Airic was focused on Nicholas who was still sick, but healing. A reassuring thought as she pulled out a pink, oversized shirt and a pair of black fuzzy shorts. This will do.

Adalei looked at the notebook once more before she shut it with a tiny snap and began walking again. As attractive as the idea of asking around for who she was looking for was, she didn't want to run the risk of someone knowing the person and running off to tell him. That would resort in one of three things; he would come to talk to her which was unlikely, come kill or kidnap her, or the acquaintance would do either of those things for him. She would prefer to think of a safe way to manage this task, but how? That was a question she kept asking herself. Taking in a short, deep breath of the cool air she smiled faintly...though that feeling of being watched crept over her again. She looked over her shoulder but didn't see anything too unusual, just a bunch of people on the street trying to get home before the sun set. It was probably time for her to get back to the hotel as well, it wasn't too far away.

(Well decisions don't need to be made now. XD)

The Twins watched her quietly for a brief moment, glancing at one another before silently turning away. Neither one of them liked the silence that enfolded between the three of them, it was uncomfortable and awkward. Nicholas led the way out, feeling a small twinge of guilt again. Unable to push back the thoughts that maybe she was holding it against him, perhaps he hurt her and she was angry. Airic lightly touched Nicholas's shoulder, sensing his unease and offered a gentle smile. His gaze shifted back towards Lucy for a moment. "Have a good night Lucy..." he said before following his brother out the door. Still there remained something that seemed off, she certainly wasn't the same little girl they knew. It saddened Nicholas a little bit but it intrigued Airic, both the Twins remaining quiet as they turned to head down the hall again. Nicholas resting most of his weight on his brother.

Mathias simply trailed behind her for some time, for lack of anything better to do with his time. His gaze shifted towards the sky, seeing as though the sun was beginning to make its descent in the sky. Sunset wasn't far off and neither was nighttime, even he didn't like being out after hours. The Nightwalkers have only gotten more active and aggressive since the Officials fell, it made his stomach churn. He shook his head a little bit, hooking his thumbs through his belt loops as he followed her. His gaze searched the back of her head, willing her to turn just enough for him to see her face.

[It's still in the back of your mind...so...I don't trust you on this! XD]

Lucy said nothing as they left, turning around only when it was clear they were gone and she quickly went over to the door and locked it. Though, according to the Brothers, the Palace was a 'safe' place at night she didn't trust the ones who wandered its halls. Lucy didn't want to wake up in the middle of the night to any vampire attempting to sink their fangs into her neck. Shaking her head she turned back to her pajamas, changing into them before crawling into bed with a small huff. She tried not to think about the brothers, Airic in particular, but her bed smelled of them so it wasn't so easy. Even so, she managed to roll over and forced her eyes closed, falling into an uneasy sleep soon after.

Adalei turned onto the road with her hotel after a handful of minutes, keeping her eyes on the gray building as she tried to ignore the creepy crawly feeling on her skin. She knew she was being followed by this point but she didn't want to turn around and confront the person. What if they happened to be a vampire? Or worse? It wasn't the time to be getting delayed even if they weren't. The dark brought monsters with it and she's yet to meet a Nightwalker face to face so she would like to keep it that way. However she had to know who it was and as her gaze travelled over the shops across from her hotel she got an idea. She took her time, stopping in front a shop with blouses in the window. Pretty ones, but she ignored them as she turned her head to the shop on the right, pretending to look at the watches there as she tried to get a good look of the man some feet behind her through her soft brunette hair. Unfortunately... he was too far away and if she were to turn any further it would look off.

Ellie woke up with a jolt though it wasn't because of a bad dream this time, rather because of the comfortably warm body that rest against her. She blinked a few times before her gaze cleared and she saw Kai beside her, confusion in her eyes before she remembered what happened. The day before she had used her gift over the weather to help him step out into the sun, using her aura ability to protect him from its rays. Using all of that energy had tired her out and she had, in turn, broken down badly which, now that she's remembered that, embarrassed her. How could she have let herself get to that point? To a point where he obviously felt a need to comfort her by laying with her, she was sure he wasn't all that happy about that. She sighed softly and pulled away, untangling herself from the sheets as well as his arms carefully so she wouldn't wake him up. Once she was free she sat up and moved to the opposite side of the bed, leaning on her knees as she stared at the floor with a blank look on her face. Just breathe Ellie...don't over think it...
