Dawning [Reserved Icy]

Post by DreamsandReality » Tue Jan 24, 2017 4:47 am

Towards the beginning of the middle ages a kingdom grew in the midst of a dense forest, expanding until it became one of the greatest of them all. It was ruled by a great family who held nothing but kindness in their hearts...yet like everyone they had their demons. They made enemies with a single witch that lingered within their kingdom, as a result she cursed their family with the intentions of making sure their family line could never continue. However her plan backfired, creating the first vampires the world has ever seen. These vampire children became known as The Elders, growing up to be the rulers of the kingdom.

The Elder Vampires ruled for many years, nearing the end of the middle ages before everything began to fall apart. Many of the Elders disappeared leaving only a few left to wander about the kingdom. One plotted revenge upon those that deserved it most, another fell deeply in love with one from the vampire's natural enemy, and the last continued to rule the kingdom in vain.

Among this chaos the coven of witches, that descended from the first witch, struggled to gain some sort of control within their own. The Leaders were driven mad by this alliance between one of their own and an Elder vampire, seeking to destroy what they saw as an abomination. However not all witches worked in the manners of 'good magic'. Rumors have wandered through the streets that there were a few who were seeking the powers of dark magic.

The kingdom holds strong but the people within are fighting their own demons, seeking the justice they believed was rightfully theirs. Everyone left wondering what exactly is the right path to take.

Your Last Post~

Malcolm turned towards Alexia quietly and shook his head, there was nothing in any of the other rooms. They're only lead was that single door and he couldn't deny he felt a twinge of doubt. He shook this feeling aside and walked back down the little corridor, heading towards the door with the glowing hand print. They had to figure out a way to get the door open, assuming of course that the door was no doubt locked. "Tell me about it..." he murmured softly in return. He didn't want to think about what happens down here, whatever this madness was. He approached the door and motioned Alexia over. He lifted the makeshift torch a little to try and peer inside the door again.

Elijah slipped his arms under the man and lifted him up with ease, grimacing a little as the scent of dried blood burned his nose. He took a deep breath though and closed his eyes, focusing his attention on simply getting the man to the village. He studied the man quietly for a moment before glancing over at Claire. "Ebony will take you back to the cabin..." he said softly glancing back over at the quiet witch standing off to the side. Elijah was instructed to take them an to the village and leave him somewhere where the other villagers would find him. Unfortunately, most of the villagers still knew Elijah's face and the young man would probably have better luck if he was found. His gaze shifted back to Claire quietly, he wanted to say a million things and yet nothing escaped his lips.

My Last Post~

Alexia followed him after seeing the shake of his head, not surprised that he didn't find anything in the last of the rooms left. It was disappointing, but she wasn't going to focus on the feeling. Nothing good would come of it besides her driving herself crazy and she'd need a clear mind to do what she had to do upon finding her sister. Skye would be in the marked room, she would remain positive on that...she had to. She looked up and spotted the door with her hand print, glancing at him with pursed lips though the expression was not because of him. It wasn't one of upset, it was of thought. "Do you see anything?" She asked, pausing beside him as he looked into the room. There was still that presence... "I could probably break the lock..."

Claire moved out of the way as Elijah picked up the man, clasping her hands just in front of her. It was a little nerve-racking, she was worried about so many things and yet at the moment her only concern was him. He was suffering over this, over the pain he caused her earlier, and she worried it would change him for the worst. That in a way she would lose him forever which would hurt her more than the words he said to her. Yet she only shook her head of these worries, looking at him as he spoke. She looked about ready to protest this idea, but catching the look in his eye made her silence her protests and nod. He would be fine, he would come back...she had to believe in that. Yet still a pained look crossed her features against her will as she looked away, her gaze landing on Ebony.

Mathias sighed and shook his head "Nothing...breaking the lock is probably out best bet." He replied. His gaze flickered to her's, glowing a faint gold. He didn't like the idea of opening a door, not knowing what was inside and yet he had hope that it would be her sister. The sooner they got her sister the sooner they could get out of there before Alexander returned. He shoved these darkening thoughts aside and took a small step back from the door. There was an air of uncertainty surrounding this plan but it was the only one they had left to go off of.

Elijah gazed at Claire for a moment longer "I'll be back soon..." he added softly before looking away. Without another word he set off down the trail, his lips pressed in a firm line. The man felt so heavy in his arms, like an ugly weight of guilt just laying limp there. He swallowed a lump in his throat and took a deep breath. Ebony approached Claire and lightly touched her arm. "Let's go now..." she said with a soft, reassuring smile. She looked after Elijah for only a moment before her gaze settled on Claire again. Despite her anger with Elijah she couldn't help but feel sympathy towards the two of them. The struggles they were having to face. Between Alexander, Nikolai, the Coven, and then the simply difference of one being a witch and the other a vampire.

Alexia nodded, studying the handle of the door as well as the lock for a moment. It seemed like a simple lock, but it was strong. Someone couldn't break it by simply hitting it for example, but luckily she had other ways. Her gaze, for a brief moment, moved to Mathias before she returned to the lock, her eyes seeming to glow faintly as she focused her energy on it. A few moments later the air shifted like it had when she broke the firsr lock and there was a sound that resembled a tiny explosion as bits of the handle and lock came flying off. Once things settled down and no one came flying through the door she relaxed and glanced at him, nodding once to show that it was done. She was still cautious, as much as she wanted to run right in to see if her sister was indeed in there she had to be smart. There was still a slim chance it wouldn't be her.

Claire watched Elijah as he went off, a part of her wanted to run after him but the other part of her forced herself to behave. To stay right there, or rather go back to the cabin and hopelessly wait for his return. Hopefully she wouldn't lose her mind in the process...she didn't know what she'd do if he didn't come back to her. Don't think like that. She had to remain as positive as possible, had to believe he would. Elijah would never leave, even if she was upset with him and their life was hard. Her frown deepened, the crease between her brows becoming more prominent as she held her hands under her chin, silently praying for his safety. She felt Ebony touch her arm and heard her speak but didn't look at her, not until Elijah was out of her sights and only then did she turn her gaze to her friend. Where would she be without her? Without any of them? It wasn't something she wanted to think about. After a minute she lowered her hands and nodded to show she was ready to go.

Mathias watched Alexia closely as she focused her energy on the lock, feeling a small twinge of jealousy and envy. Most of his magic had long since faded away or at the very least not as powerful as they once were, as if they were locked away in that small part of him that was still a warlock. He shook these thoughts aside, wincing as the sharp sound of the lock breaking echoed in the hallway. His gaze shifted towards the door nervously, praying that Alexander hadn't returned and even if he did maybe there was a chance he hadn't heard it. It was wishful thinking but for the time being they seemed okay, the door remaining closed. He looked at Alexia and nodded a little, stepping forward to reach a hand out and slowly push open the door, raising the torch to light the room within. He could hear his heart pounding in his chest, half expecting something to leap out at them.

Ebony smiled gently, sympathetically as she turned away and headed back the way they had come. "He'll be fine Claire..." she said gently, hoping to reassure her friend. She knew Claire well enough to know that despite what he had said to her she would never stop worrying about him. Ebony also had no doubts Elijah would return the moment the young man was returned to the village. She treaded back with a small weight lifted from her shoulders, it felt nice to heal someone again. To do her job once more as she's been a bit distance from the Coven lately. She'd have to return and check in with the Coven Elders eventually though, the last thing they needed was for them to send out another search party in fear another one of their members had gone rogue. Although...technically Ebony had gone rogue, turning her back on their Coven.

Alexia felt the small shift in his emotions, but she thought nothing of it as she peered into the room when he pushed the door open. Her focus and concern was mainly on this, she had no room for much else at thid very moment. She squinted her eyes, motioning for him to lift the torch up a bit more so the light would spread throughout the room. There appeared to be someone laying on the floor on the opposite side of the semi large cell and though it did look feminine and appeared to have long dark hair...she wasn't ready to fly across the room or anything like that. Not until she saw the being's face and made sure who it was, there was still a chance it wasn't Skye after all. The further she went in the more she picked up a scent of blood, it wasn't overpowering so she knew it wasn't a lot but it was still a concern. This person would need assistance. She glanced at Mathias nervously, offering a small smile. One that was hopefully, somewhat, reassuring.

Claire glanced back towards the direction Elijah went one last time before she moved after Ebony, knowing she was right but she was unable to help it. He was her soul and if something bad happened to him she didn't know what she would do. Of course she tried to think positively about this situation, but she was short on positivity lately. The last of it flew out of the window once she learned the truth about her mother, but she wasn't thinking about that right now. It had gone to the back of her mind long ago, but it was still there. Something like that couldn't just be forgotten...she still haf a long way to go to heal from it and the rest other tragedies she's gone through lately. They all had to heal. A soft sigh left her lips as she shook her head and stared at the ground to ensure she didn't trip over any of the weeds or twigs that were scattered across the path. That would be just her luck to fall, or get lost. At this last thought she glanced up at Ebony as if to make sure she was still there, watching her a moment before she looked away and took another deep breath. Everything will be okay...

Mathias obediently raised the torch without question, letting the soft warm glow fill the space. His eyes glowed a faint gold as the scent of blood filled his senses. It wasn't an overpowering smell so he knew it couldn't have been a lot, but it was enough to make him feel unsettled. He gazed at Alexia and smiled faintly in return, taking a small step into the room. "Hello?" he called out cautiously, watching the limp form carefully. The last thing he needed was to be caught off guard. Yet he had every hope that this was the person they were looking for, that this was Alexia's sister. They wouldn't have time to search anywhere else, Alexander was sure to return eventually. Sooner than later no doubt. He stayed close to the door and Alexia, but far enough in to at least be able to see the form lying on the floor. A small figure with long dark hair was about all he could make out however.

Ebony led the way back to the cabin in silence, lost in her thoughts. She was going over the last few events of the previous days, frowning in both frustration and curiosity. Everything was piling on top of each other, one tragedy after another. Despite trying to remain positive even she was beginning to have her doubts of a happy ending in all of this. Alexander, Nikolai, the Coven, all of which didn't seem to be particularly fond of any of them. She shook her head and glanced back at Claire. For Claire's sake she would remain positive, for her friend's sake she would keep pushing forward because at this point that was all they could do. Everything will work out in the end... she thought with a deep breath and eventually broke through the line of trees. The cabin in the near distance.

Alexia moved closer, flinching when Mathias called out for what if whoever was lying there on the floor was faking it in order to get them to let their guards down before they... attacked or whatever? It was possible, though she relaxed when the figure didn't move, but it also worried her. Were they dead? No, she could sense life in this room, but they were definitely weak. She glanced back at him before she slowly moved closer, kneeling down when she was close enough to the figure. The hair resembled Skye's so much and she knew it was her before she moved the long locks from her pale, bruised face. "Skye!" Her voice held a note of panic but also relief that she was finally with her again, that she no longer had to wonder where she was or if she was alive. Tears burned her dark plum eyes but didn't spill as she moved around, carefully lifting up her sister's head and resting it in her lap as she studied her and made note of her wounds. Bruises littered her skin andblood stained the right side of her shirt, upon further inspection she saw a gash there though thankfully it wasn't too deep but it did look infected...not to mention that she was unconscious. It angered her to see her like this, but she wouldn't allow herself be blinded by emotions right now. "You're okay..."

Claire remained silent, thinking about nothing in particular anymore. Elijah was of course still on her mind, as he was always, and she kept herself optimistic, for his sake. They both needed a little positivity in their life, but he needed it more right now. He was suffering, they all were suffering, it wasn't fair. What had they done so wrong that the world thought they deserved all of this? She didn't know, and as of right now she didn't care to think about it or of anything negative. There was time for thst later when she was a bit mire clear minded. When Elijah was back. She did wonder where Jacob was, and Mathias, but she didn't dwell on the thought too much. They probably had things to do, Jacob was staying for awhile and didn't know the village or have much so he was probably there. Mathias...well, who knew. Claire sighed quietly, looking up as she broke through the trees after Ebony.

Mathias stayed where he was, stiffening when Alexia moved closer to the figure. A part of him expected the figure to suddenly leap out and attack, but ultimately there was no movement. Nothing but the subtle rise and fall of the form's chest. He relaxed only when Alexia called out her sister's name, letting out a soft breath of relief. So at least they had found the girl and now it was about getting out of here before Alexander noticed his prisoner was missing. He edged a little closer to give Alexia more light. "We need to get going..." he warned her gently. His gaze settled on the bruises and blood that spotted the girl's thin form. He felt his stomach twist, sickened by the sight. You're a monster.... he thought, thinking about Alexander of course. All vampires are though aren't they? he clenched his free hand into a fist but took a deep breath to calm his emotions. Letting emotions get the best of them wouldn't help them in this situation.

Ebony paused and looked at Claire, smiling a little bit. "How do you feel?" she asked slowly before she continued towards the cabin, motioning for Claire to follow. It seemed like such a silly question but it sometimes it was good to talk about one's feelings, get stuff of their chests. Ebony, however, couldn't put how she felt into words. For she felt a whole ocean's worth of emotions and many didn't quite have names. She felt sad and happy, miserable, scared, and yet optimistic. It was all so confusing and it didn't help that she couldn't figure out how to help Claire and Elijah more. She frowned a little bit before waving this thought away, she had to remain positive for Claire.

Alexia brushed her sister's hair out of her face, hoping she would just wake up but there were no signs she would any time soon. Her skin was cold and she feared Skye caught hypothermia, it was possible down in this musty dungeon. She heard Mathias telling her she had to hurry, but she did not move, instead thinking of how they were going to get her out of here. One of them would have to carry her and to be honest Alexia was the only one who would be able to freely fight down here. Mathias would have to shift and his wolf form was huge, too large for these halls. Asking him to carry her sister seemed difficult though, he already helped her this far but what if Alexander appeared? Alexia couldn't just drop her. Yet before she could make a choice she heard a voice from near the door, her hands clenching tightly as the air in the room stirred in response. "Leaving already? But you only just got here." Alexander chuckled, his red eyes gleaming as he looked down on the three of them.

Claire stopped when Ebony asked how she felt, she shook her head. There weren't any easy answers for a question like that, especially when she didn't know how it was she was feeling. She felt numb, empty, there was no room for sadness or happiness anymore. Her gaze fell away, what was she supposed to say? Nothing was fine, it wouldn't be for a long time. After everything that happened she didn't know if she had the capacity to heal, even if she somehow did she knew she would never be the same again. Nothing in life was easy, and everything was cloaked in darkness. In her world the sky was no longer blue nor were the trees green, she had no names for these colours and...she was starting to realize how little sense her thoughts made. She pinched the bridge of her nose, clearing her mind before she looked at Ebony apologetically. Ebony shouldn't have to deal with any of this, but she chose to and Claire...she was grateful for her friend.
