[REQ] Fate Breakers

Post by HoneyBuzz » Sun May 27, 2018 1:22 am

Fate is a finicky thing, that we can all agree on. Once your thread is woven into the tapestry, then that's it my friend! Life will forever and always be as Fate decides it; Or that's what the Bishops and such tell us to keep us all in line.

It's been about Twenty or so years since the 'Judgement', when King Terrany decided it would be fun to meddle in the darker magics to protect his beloved riches from an invading kingdom. The result? Thousands of blood-thirsty demons and ghouls pouring from the gates of Hell themselves to devour the souls of the innocent. Well, maybe not thousands, but enough to do some considerable damage. The resulting war left much of Kynar Kingdom in ruins. Much of the more vulnerable towns outside the main cities were destroyed, and demons still ran rampant out in the wilds. Devising a plan to keep his people safe, King Terrany devised a plan. He would build great walls around his three most magnificent cities; Ariyat, Hiral, and Montipley. These walls would keep the demons and large roaming groups of bandits and knaves out of these self-proclaimed safe havens. The plan worked for a good few years, until it was discovered that although the walls kept the evil out, it didn't stop what was inside from growing in size.

King Terrany was shortly overthrown, and in place were the Bishops; A group of terrifyingly religious fellows who proclaimed that those who did not follow their rules were heretics, and did not deserve to live in the safety of the walls. Those who did not follow the extremely strict rules they put into place were cast out into 'The Outskirts', towns outside of the city that managed to still stand. Although extremely dangerous, you still had a pretty good chance of living if you got sent to The Outskirts; It was more likely you'd die by some thug's hands than a demon's. Within the walls of the 3 Cities, one specific set of laws stood out above the rest. These laws were called 'The Fate's Boundaries', and despite what the Bishops said, they were made merely to keep those below them in line. Breaking the Fate's Boundaries laws would result in the worst punishment of all; Death.

Somehow, you managed to be unlucky enough to be caught breaking one of the Fate's Boundaries. You were quickly sent out into The Outskirts, where you were given a humiliating and public execution of sorts. They tossed your sorry body down into the 'Pits', where you would be properly 'disposed' of. There was a problem though; You woke up. You were certain you died; A gunshot to the head, hanging, being dropped into an angry mob. You still have the scars, but you're alive and kicking. This is where you discover that your thread has been cut out of Fate's Tapestry, yet it floats freely through the void. You're an anomaly, and this freedom from the strict laws of Life and Fate have given you one more gift; Magic.

Fate's Boundaries
-Any Occupation will be assigned by the Bishops at birth, and must be adhered to throughout all your life.
-Spouses, Friendships and the likes will be set by The Bishops, fate's true friends.
-Your life belongs to The Bishops, that is Fate's Way.
-If The Bishops demand something of you, you must adhere to their words, no matter what it may be.
-Any sort of speech that is not to the Bishops' liking will be silenced.

So, What's The Basic Plot?
You're a 'Fateless One', someone who has been broken free of Fate's Tapestry. Thing is, you've been 'dead' for 100-200 years, my friend; So the world around you is very different. Life still sucks for the Mortal Races, but now there's a full blown war between them and the thousands of demons that are really running around now. Your job is to not only knock the Bishops down from their high horse, but to end the war once and for all by killing the God that's started it all; Fate himself.

The Races of The Lands
Many races call Kynar Kingdom home; whether voluntary or not. Each have a unique culture with unique traditions and ideas.

Humans:
Humanity is considered to be the only native species to live within the Kynar Kingdom (In their own opinion); Very rarely do you have any humans coming from outside lands. They have a very shared culture, although some Humans do dabble in the cultures of other races depending on where they were raised. Humans are often stereotyped as very rude and inconsiderate towards the other races, and although this might be true for some humans, not all of them are as Xenophobic as their kin.

Elven Kind:
There are three different sub-cultures of Elves, each with their own cultures and skills respectively.

-Northern Elves-
Hailing from the cold and mountainous region of Cryzotine, Northern Elves are seen as one of the hardiest of Elven Kind. They are heralded for being masters in the way of Art, and are often considered to be a little snobby because of it. Northern Elves often have pale and fair skin, and usually stand between 5'0"-5'5".

-Sun Elves-
Native to the sandy deserts and scorching savannas, Sun Elves are considered to be the 'politicians' of the bunch. Known for their complex political systems and ability to be almost completely immune to corruption, Sun Elves were once always in a position of power. In the Safe Havens, though, they are often merely just assistants and law-makers. Sun Elves have tanned or brown skin, and usually stand between 5'4"-5'7".

-Plantite Elves-
One of the most common Elf Groups to be found in Kynar, Plantite Elves are seen as the most spiritual and 'connected' with the planet compared to the others. They come from the forests around Kynar, and only recently began to integrate themselves into Human Society. They are typically spiritual leaders or advisers, and are occasionally farmers and gardeners. They often have light skin tones or even skin tones that are blue-green, and stand at about 5'0"-5'8".

Orcish Kind:
A race that only sprouted a year or two after the Judgement. Orcs are the offspring of a Demon (Disguised as Human) and a Human, but are seen as the most peaceful of all the other races. They typically become guards and warriors thanks to their large statures and brute strength, although some do become scholars as Orcs are pretty intelligent. They usually have skin-tones ranging from bright reds to dark greens, and stand at 5'5"-6'4".

Animalines:
The oldest race according to historical documents, but they have only recently appeared to the world's eye. They are a shy race, characterized by their animalistic features. These can range from cat-like ears and tails, to deer or ram horns. They also often have the same senses as their animal features, such as stronger sense of smell or better sight than others. They have varying skin tones and animal characteristics, but they all stand at 5'5"-5'7" no matter what.

Rules
1) Follow all basic RPF rules
2) What I say, goes. I use a 3 strike system, so you get 3 chances to not mess up.
3) Any arguments can be resolved in the OOC. If there is a problem with another individual, PM me. My word is law here, so you best follow it.
4) No OP characters, and no Meta-gaming, God-modding, etc.
5) Don't get mad if something doesn't go your way. Also, try to keep the passive-aggressive comments against others to a minimum.

NaName: Veilyn Chorinth

Age: 19

Gender: Male

Race: Human

Scar Location: a Vertical Scar both in the front and front of the torso, about 10 centimeters in length

How did you 'Die'?: Initially sentenced to death by stoning, but death ultimately came by the impalement of a sharp, polished sttone.

Weapons: None.

Abilities/Skills:

Stone Weaver

- Veilyn is able to bend and shape the very earth to his will, forming either pillars of rocks for defense, or molding sharp projectiles to hurl at his foes. Additionally, he can sense specific ground vibrations and their origin. Both of these abilities are limited by a 20 meter radius of effect around Veilyn.

Death's Hunger

- Veilyn suffers hunger like a normal being, but can only satiate his hunger by harvesting and absorbing blood, and on a rare occasion, a soul of a being. Additionally, Veilyn is able to slowly heal any damage that he has taken depending on the volume of that which he has harvested and absorbed. Other healing abilities/ methods will harm Veilyn, causing trauma and burns to develop on the applied area.

Weaved Fate

- Veilyn is able to share his regenerative abilities with others at the cost of his own body. Veilyn will slowly develop trauma on areas of his body of which whoever he had weaved with. Veilyn cannot simultaneously heal himself and the other person while consuming; consuming will only speed the process of one person being healed.

Personality: Veilyn finds himself in the middle between two sides: His former self, a calm, merciful, and sympathetic individual, willing to suffer for others, and his fallen persona, a sadistic, and carefree slayer, often found with no remorse for his acts, believing what he does is of bare necessity. During normal circumstances, he finds that his old self is dominant, usually displaying positive qualities. While in the heat of battle however, if he is caught up in battle, his sanity may drop, dragging himself further down into his desire to satisfy his hunger.

Bio: Veilyn was born an orphan, believing then that he was destined to live life of solitary existence. While in the orphanage, he saw at a very early age that everyone sought comfort for themselves; no one else truly cared for another who suffered a similar fate. He learned to keep to himself then, for trusting anyone was a labor futile to maintain.

Eventually, crime arrived on Veilyn's doorstep. Armed child traffickers raided the orphanage, kidnapping three quarters of the population off to be sold as profit to slave owners, Tycoon owners thirsty to save a quick buck, and families of nobility, need in replacement of servants, concubines, wives, or husbands to satisfy their lusts. Veilyn knew he would die eventually, so where he ended up did not matter. Veilyn and the others were moved to other carraiges, till none of the faces were recognizable to him, then again he could barely recognize anyone then. While waiting to be sold off elsewhere, he befriended another kidnapped child, who sported golden blonde hair, and a friendly smile.

It was a name he would remember till the day he died: Ariandel.

She was kidnapped from that of lower nobility; she had a life filled of little to no worries, most would assume she would be saddened to be robbed of her own bright future, yet she held a bright smile to Veilyn exclusively. She was a direct contrast to his pessimism, an optimistic girl, who saw even the dimmest of light in people. Veilyn didn't know he was addicted in her positivity. As the two of them were placed in a dark carriage with other kids, they laced fingers, and declared a vow: They would always watch each other's backs, and would do everything to find each other.

Veilyn and Ariandel lived the majority of their childhood within a factory that dealt with material containing magical properties. Being exposed to so much concentrated and highly toxic materials meant that death was not an uncommon guest among the workforce, yet each day, the both of them took precaution with working, watching one another, and if possible, helping their neighbors everyday, Veilyn knew that Ariandel's natural optimism also meant she expelled energy much more than he did with how much enthusiasm she put into her work. During times in which they would eat, Veilyn would cut his meal by half the amount and placed it on Ariandel's platter, unbeknownst to her. Because of this, Veilyn often felt lethargic, and out of energy. Still, he endured, as his body hungered, his heart grew satisfied, eventually falling in love with her.

at the age of 13, he declared his love for her, which she, without hesitation, embraced. Every moment they had, he would spend with each other. As other slept, they would sneak out of their rooms, and rest under the stars at night, hands held, heads beside each other closely, stargazing till they fell into deep slumber. When Ariandel felt lonely and in need of affection, she would tug at his shirt gently, shy of her need for him. Veilyn was not one to act dumbfounded just for the sake of being shy; he was direct and responsive to her every need, even if it cost him sleep. Their lives would continue to be bliss and hard work till the age of 15.

Ariandel's parents had risen above their lower nobility status due to a dispute, and gaining one of the bishop's favors, allowing them to rise among some of the highest in power below other superior heads. Ariandel was found by her parents, which she was reluctant to go, wishing to either stay with Veilyn, or take both of them. Both would learn the hard way of life's cruelty. Under the blanket of night, as both were cuddled together, resting, Ariandel was taken from Veilyn's side, arranged by Ariandel's father.

For four years, he lived in constant worry of Ariandel, wishing he could see the smile she blessed his sights every day. The good she left for him still remained; he was helpful to others, and understanding of others' pains and struggles, often giving himself a little more work to do for the sake of the tired. Finally, during an transfer of ownership, he could once again see his beloved Aria, but under a darker light than he last remembered.

The Ariandel family took ownership of the factory, with Ariandel being the owner. Veilyn could see her eyes were not the same. During the first month of her ownership, a third of the elder teen population died. She was cruel, and heartless, often spouting out anger against the orphaned and slaved workers, how they took up space while contributing nothing. She harbored an unnatural hate against the unfortunate, often severely crippling the workers, or eventually killing them in lengthened and torturous deaths. Veilyn was mortified that he one he loved became so bloodthirsty with no context.

Veilyn reached out for her, but he was met with fate's plan of a horrific death for him. Veilyn asked for her attention in the brink of dusk, hoping to appeal to the Ariandel he loved and knew, pleading to know why she was the way she is. The only answer he recieved was brutal beating from her guards, and the look of disgusted glare she gave to him as she announced for his execution by stoning. During that night, he was held inside a torture chamber , help up on a stand, with guards throwing various sharp, and blunt stones of all sizes at him as if he was some target. The stoning lasted several hours, by the end of it,, with him ending up in swollen, blackened bruises all over his body. The last of his breath would be exhaled when they had saved a shard of polished obsidian, slowly piercing through his back, piercing his heart till the blade reach through the front of his chest.

Veilyn's body was thrown in a massive trench of other fresh and rotten bodies, all executed and casted off as waste.

Appearance:
Veilyn_Profile_Pic.jpg
Veilyn_Profile_Pic.jpg (33.6 KiB) Viewed 488 times
Veilyn is around 5 feet, 5 inches in height, weighing around 131 lbs, his frame is delicate, yet surprisingly tolerant of pain and punishment. Slender and Agile on his feet, Veilyn relies on his speed in hand to hand fights rather than power. Veilyn's eyes used to be Hazel, but his irises has changed to that of a dark magenta due to his eyes being exposed to Misochi spores for a number of years. Veilyn's eyes glow in darkness, giving off a menacing appearance from afar, although it has no direct correlation with his mood. Veilyn usually holds a neutral expression, his eyes slight shut, as if he was always a bit tired.

An old soul within a young man's body, Veilyn grew to know of his body's physical limitation, compensating his lack of physical strength with his powers as a Rock Weaver. Veilyn prefers to sport a minimalist sense of fashion; Simple shades of colors are his preference, along with his usual article of clothing properly reflecting the weather. He does still experience chills and heat, after all.

Extra: While food cannot satisfy his hunger, Veilyn's tastebuds still retain their ability, with him often trying out various sweets and savoury tastes for his self enjoyment. Veilyn still retains normal thirst like other humans. He thoroughly finds peace in folding Origami.

Name:
☼Aster Yarriah

Age:
☼23

Gender:
☼Female

Race:
☼Sun Elf

Scar Location:
☼A red marking circling her entire neck.

How did you 'Die'?:
☼Dragged by her neck through the city of Montipley for Humiliation.

Weapons:
☼A beautiful Hand-Crafted Scythe, with strange wing-like webbing on the ends.
Image

☼The 'Magician's Dagger', an opal blade with a hand-carved ivory hilt.
Image

Magic:
Fire Play
Aster is a magician of fire; Able to make it do whatever she wishes. This allows her to also be immune to fire-related injuries and she can withstand a high amount of heat compared to others.

Fire Aide
Using the flames, Aster can heal both herself and others. This process is painful for others, though, but it can potentially save lives as it can be used to cauterize serious wounds. Using her fire to heal others can exhaust her, though.

Light Lover
Aster becomes more powerful in the sunlight, and is able to manipulate the light around her. She can create mindless soldiers and such from the light, as well as manipulate the light in a room to make it brighter or dimmer. She does become slightly weaker during night because of this.

Personality:
☼Aster is what one could call a 'vengeful spirit', if she hadn't managed to be revived. She's a very spiteful woman, and is known to hold grudges for a long, long time, no matter how mundane the act against her could be. Aster is very straight-forward, and doesn't like the whole 'Ask questions first' kind of deal. If she wants something, she will get it, even if it means slaughtering a few people here and there. She's extremely stubborn, and often refuses to take any sort of order from somebody she doesn't trust; Even if that person is considered her 'superior'. Aster could be seen as a very violent person, but she is also extremely calm despite her aggressive ways. It takes a lot to get her riled up, but when she's mad, she'll most likely stay mad for a while.

If one where to somehow be romantically interested in Aster, it would be an emotional death sentence. She's extremely cold and harsh, and seems to have little time for anybody or anything to get close to her. She's got a snappy attitude and loves to speak her mind, no matter how rude the truth may seem. Despite the extremely cold and spiky exterior she has, if someone did manage to get close to Aster they'd learn that she's an extremely loving and loyal woman. She'd gladly throw her life on the line to save someone she likes, even if she might complain about it later on. She's actually a hopeless romantic, but she'll never tell you; Although you might be able to guess from the various books she occasionally reads.

Bio:
☼From the moment Aster was born, she already had the fate of death hanging above her head. Her mother was a gorgeous Noblewoman who eloped with a servant instead of remaining with her Fate-Assigned Husband. The result was a month long search, yet the authorities could never find the 'Traitor'. Her mother and father had escaped to the lawless Outskirts, where despite the constant threat of death via demons, they were able to live and love in peace. That is where Aster was born, in a no name town a few miles outside of Montipley. Her childhood was rife with hardships, as food was very scarce in the town. She had to hunt and gather for food very often, as her parents worked for long hours to provide for each-other. Despite it all, Aster and her parents were very content with their lives in the Outskirts.

When Aster turned 18, she was given a choice. Either stay with her parents in The Outskirts and continue to fight for food as the scarcity continued, or travel to Montipley to find work and start a new life. Aster chose to travel to Montipley, but promised to send food and money to her parents whenever possible. Shortly after, Aster packed her things and left for the Capital Safe Haven. There, she found that life was not as perfect and pristine as all the school-books taught. The commons of the city were surrounded by petty crime and bribed peace officers, and there seemed to be no room for a Sun Elf. She was sent to the Assignment Hall to be given a job and a new life; which sucked completely. She was given a job as a tavern worker in a predominantly human part of town, where she discovered that humans were not too kind to anyone but themselves. She was treated poorly and paid poorly, and soon she had enough. Aster attempted to run away like her mother had done, but it seemed fate didn't quite like that idea. She was caught almost immediately, and was forced to be dragged around by her neck through the city as an act of humiliation. She died from it, but her thread was not done tearing through Fate's Tapestry.

She awoke, albeit in pain and completely sore, on top of a mound of skeletons. Confused and terrified, Aster ran; and found herself coming face to face with another person who seemed to have simply awoken from death's embrace. They explained to Aster what she was now, and how she was free from the constricting grasp of life and fate itself. Still confused, Aster was lead out of The Pits and to a camp of other people like her, or 'Fateless'. There, she was taught what her powers were, and how to control them. Her confusion led to anger, and soon that anger fueled her to become a whirlwind of determination.

Appearance:
☼Aster is about 5'6", with tanned skin and long dark locks that are often kept up in buns. Her eyes are an almond shape, and are a piercing green color that will stare through your soul if you let them. She has a light dusting of freckles and moles across her face, from her time in the sun as a child and young adult. She has very sharp and beautiful facial features, and has a slim yet feminine figure. She often wears darker clothing that are loosely fitting, such as cloaks and simple tunics and such.
Image

Extra:
☼Aster is semi-biased against Humans, since they had treated her so poorly. She doesn't hate them, but she doesn't love them either.

Name:
🔮Carmen Allhover

Age:
🔮20

Gender:
🔮Female

Race:
🔮Animaline

Scar Location:
🔮She has three scars; One near her mouth, another on her chest, and one that goes horizontally across her stomach.

How did you 'Die'?:
🔮She was attacked by an angry mob of Humans.

Weapons:
🔮Beautiful twin swords, one with a moon and the other with a sun.
Image

🔮A simple staff with a gorgeous crystal held on the top. When used, the crystal glows a bright blue.
Image

Magic:
🔮Future Sight🔮
Carmen can see into the future. The further forward she goes, the more energy it takes, so she often only looks about 2-3 months into the future and even then she can become very faint. This ability also allows her to almost guess an opponent's moves, as the future sight isn't 100% true as things can change.

🔮Hallucinogen🔮
Carmen can cause people to have Hallucinations. If you stare into her eyes long enough, she can use that to make the target have terrible hallucinations of their worst fears. She's able to control it, though, so she only uses it in battle.

🔮Dream Dancer🔮
Carmen is able to go into people's dreams and watch/manipulate them. She can act as a guiding hand to make someone realize something via dream, or to tell someone something important without having others listen in. It also allows her to speak telepathically with others.

🔮Shadow Master🔮
Carmen can control the shadows, making them into anything and everything. This allows her to cloak herself in darkness, along with making clones of others to fight for her.

Personality:
🔮Carmen could be considered an old soul. She's extremely wise for her age, and seems to be able to give advice for every little problem in life. She's very playful, and does enjoy making flirtatious jokes and sometimes stupid comments just to make others happy. Carmen is very free-spirited, and seems to be able to adapt to any situation at any time. She's rarely stressed out, and has a very laid-back attitude to life and all that. She's able to keep calm in tense situations, but occasionally she can break and when she does, it's pretty bad. Carmen is a hot-head of sorts, and can easily snap at others with sarcastic and snarky comments.

Carmen has a very mysterious aura around her. She talks very little about her life before moving into a Safe Haven City, and trying to pry into her personal life will only get you rude comments and cold stares. Carmen is very skilled at getting in and out of situations, using both her 'silver tongue' and her beauty to get herself what she wants. Despite her quiet nature, Carmen actually enjoys talking to people she likes, but she can often find herself not talking at all if she simply doesn't feel like it. She's very caring about those around her, but something about her always seems off.

Bio:
🔮Carmen was born in the city of Hiral, to a Politician's Assistant and a Tavern Owner. She rarely saw her father, as he was often working day and night to keep their main source of income, the family Tavern, open and bustling with business. Her mother was often home, as the Politician she worked for rarely need any sort of help. It was assumed that Carmen would most likely be assigned to be the next Tavern Owner, but when she was brought before the Fate Judge, that was not the case. It was proclaimed that she would be a 'Fortune Teller' and a 'Dream Weaver', someone who aided others in discovering their future safely in the Safe Haven walls. Terrified at the prospect of having their child taken from them, they attempted to hide Carmen away from the authorities. It didn't work, and instead a 5 year old Carmen got to watch her parents being dragged away for their public executions.

Shortly after, Carmen was carted off to the Noble District, where she was treated as a trophy of sorts. An Animaline who could 'see into the future', she was considered to be a novelty and a toy to the powerful men and women of Hiral. Her beauty also caused many Nobility to 'rent' her out for parties and balls, where she was taught to stand still, be quiet, and look pretty. Carmen began to despise her life, treated like nothing more than a toy for these humans who cared little for her and her people. She began to rebel slightly against the Nobility, and soon she was sent away due to her actions. She found herself in the Commons once more, but her presence was not well accepted. She set up her business, but a large group of people who saw her as a 'traitor' despite having never broken Fate's Boundaries, descended upon her. They killed her in cold blood, stating that she could have twisted their fates because of what she was.

Despite not having been publicly executed for any crimes, Carmen was still tossed into The Pits with the rest of them. She awoke with a sense of pure anger, but her temper was quickly simmered when she found herself in a tent instead of on a pile of bodies. She was told what she was, what she could do, and what her purpose now was. Carmen took it all in one quick stride, and found herself becoming one of the more powerful Fateless within the camp.

Appearance:
🔮Carmen is a stunningly beautiful woman, standing at about 5'10" exactly with a curvaceous figure and angelic face. She has beautifully haunting amber eyes that can leave your mind whirling, and short and curly locks of blonde hair. She has pale skin with freckles on her nose and cheeks, and her most stunning features are the two ram horns upon her head, along with the little ram's tail she has. Carmen often wears simple and well fitting clothing, but adorns her horns with beautiful jewelry to show off.
Image

Extra:
🔮Carmen's voice is very soothing and calming.

How did you 'Die'?: Beaten to death by a mob
Weapons: A farm sickle
Magic:
* Can move/direct stone
* Can manipulate the properties of stone (can polish it, extract metal ore from a mixed chunk of rock, etc.)
* Can reshape stone into whatever shape they want, though the larger the shape the harder it is to maintain
Personality:
Ajak trusts easily and is quick to forgive, since they try and see the best in people even after being mistreated. They’re very loyal to their family and friends, and tend to defer to other people’s judgement rather than making their own decisions; they don’t like arguing even if they disagree with what other people are saying. They see violence as a last resort, and would prefer to try and solve all their problems peacefully if possible. Being brutally murdered by a crowd of people has left them with a fear of crowds however, and when spooked their first instinct is to run rather than try and stand their ground.

They don't really like being an orc that much; as kind as their human parent and human half-siblings were, they have always been acutely aware of how they stood out from their family. They prefer to hide their more inhuman traits when possible, keeping a hood over their head to hide their stubby horns and a shawl drawn over their face to hide their fangs.
Bio:
Ajak was born to a family of human farmers, who never held the circumstances of their birth against them. Ajak grew up loved and cared for, their size and strength treated as assets to the farm rather than something to be ashamed of. Ajak was always a rather shy, timid kid, with their human half-siblings having to step in to defend them if other kids tried to make trouble for them. They had little reading material at hand growing up, mostly just almanacs and religious texts, but what they did have they devoured eagerly. If they'd had the opportunity, Ajak might've wanted to become a scholar.

Even when they grew up, Ajak was content to remain as a farmer, the Occupation designated to them at birth: it was a hard life, but one that they thought they could find happiness in. However, they didn't live long enough to find out if they truly would've been content to stay on that farm for the rest of their life.

When they were a young adult they came to Hiral to sell that year’s crop, and while passing the time at the local inn were overheard arguing with a friend about the nature of demons. Ajak thought that perhaps they were not all irredeemably evil, as the orcish children they had weren't evil: they thought that perhaps demons could redeem their souls if they tried to. This was of course heresy to a high degree, and when they were brought before the Bishops for judgement Ajak was sentenced to death and sent to the Outskirts. There, the townspeople beat them to death on the Bishops' orders.

Appearance: Ajak is rather tall (6'1"), and is muscular from their life of hard labor. Their skin is dull gray-orange, and their eyes are bright yellow. They try to hide their body as much as possible with very concealing clothes, partly due to long-standing body image issues and partly to hide the scars from their death.

Extra: Probably has a thick Southern accent.

Might be a subject to change later, but I'll just throw this one out here before I go to bed. It's currently Monday evening and if I need to change anything I won't be able to before Wednesday.

CS

Name: Henrick Moores
Age: 31
Gender: Male
Race: Animalines

How did you "Die"?: Simply said, Henrick was killed with something like bloodletting. That would mean his wrists would be cut, and then his blood would just be allowed to run out of his body, and to top the entire thing off his throat was slit at the end.
Scar Location: One across each wrist as well as a much smaller one across the throat.

Weapons: A rapier, that has a blood red ruby in the hand guard.
Magic:
Pyromancy
The ability to use fire "magic". That's all.

Personality: A kind hearted but rebellious guy. He does like being told what to do, or how to act, although he will still do it if he gets a proper reason for it.
Bio: Henrick was born into a high standing family. His family was well respected with both the people and the bishops, which only made his rebellious side all the more problematic. While his family was able to use their influence to guard him as he was younger this protection wasn't always viable when he grew older.

His family history stretches long back, but they aren't nobility. At least not anymore, whether or not they ever were is up for debate among the members, they are instead a merchant family, selling goods and doing some handcrafts on the side. Having done multiple jobs for the Bishops over the centuries the Moores gained their affection.

As a child it wasn't the biggest deal that asked questions as to why he should follow the Bishops' every command. But he still got in troubles. Some people would ask questions as to why he didn't get punished. When no good answers could be given he got punished. Not necessarily by authorities, but more often than not by his parents before it got out of hand.

But a great deal of things did however change as he hit the age of 10. He started developing some abilities for pyromancy. Now his family thought they found a good way to make their son more obedient. For 3 years he studied the arts, before the first teacher gave up on him. Not for a lack of skill, he was considerably good with it, but because he had a tendency to not do what the teacher told him.

He never managed to be able to use high leveled spells as he began to annoy every teacher sent his way. After some time his parents gave up. Henrick began teaching himself. But it was too difficult and dangerous, so he had to give that up and begin to just rehearse the spells he already knew.

The years grew upon one another and Henrick was taught a few different things. Among which was how to handle the business that his parents had running. Here he was more focused, and when asked why he simply said that he knew this was important, not just for him, but for the entire family. At the same time he was taught how to use a weapon, mainly because he needed to be able to defend himself. He took easily to the rapier, which surprised his teacher, but he got to use it anyway.

For a long time nothing badly really happened. Until he became an adult. With his parents unable to protects him, and his rebellions side still active as ever, a lot more troubles was headed his way. For years he was however, able to brush most things off. Until he made a huge mistake. Thinking he was alone at home he began questioning the Bishops' rule. What he didn't know was that while he walked around talking to himself about it, one of the bishops, whom was a "friend" of the family, came to visit. Now he wasn't able to brush it off. And he refused to let his thoughts be ruled by the man.

After a short trial with little to no evidence even submitted he was found guilty of heresy, basically all the evidence was the bishop claiming Henrick said what he did, and sentenced to death. The rest you should be able to piece together yourself. He is dead after all.

Appearance: 5'6" Looks like a normal male his age, except for the cat ears and the cat tail sprouting from his body. He's a slender build. He has a shoulder length blonde hair and bright blue eyes.

Extra: Likes being scratched being the ears.

CS

Name: Lucis Karadyre

Age: 12

Gender: Male

Race: Human

Scar Location: Burn marks on multiple places on his back, back of his hand, thigh, heel and elbow.

How did you 'Die'?: Tied with his entire body on a boulder that is being scorched by a bonfire and the heatwaves of the sun. It was basically being tortured for an entire day before actually dying of dehydration.

Weapons:
  • Shepard's Sling - An old, worn out sling had found. The somewhat already thin rope is wearing out, and the leather is dirty and worn. Lu mostly uses it to sling small, Lux Armament balls.
  • Other solid weapons can be made from Lux Armament, described below.

Magic:
  • Lux Armament - Creation of weapons and objects made out of solid light - Lu manipulates and solidifies already present light in his vicinity to turn into a weapon of his choosing. The limitation as to how dense, durable, strong, and hot. the weapon depends on how much light is nearby. Standing under direct sunlight in a heatwave would create nigh unbreakable weapons, that would scorch and sear those who come into direct contact. Lu, while not resistant to heat, he is resistant, but not immune, to the heat given off by his Light Armament. While theoretically, he could conjure an entire armour set to protect him. It's really impractical to give an 12-year-old such a physically heavy burden, Lu would collapse by the weight. Plus, it's really hot.

Usually, Lu would use this ability to create either a kite-shield, shortsword, or knife. One or the other. As Lu isn't physically strong, he relies on the strength of the light's heat, to deal damage. Think of his average sword as an alloy steel sword that is 700°C (That's 1292°F. For reference, branding occurs at 400°C ) Now uuhh... Despite how cool it sounds to have a literal lightsaber. His sword is actually not very practical at killing. In low light conditions, his weapons seem "blunt" or "fragile" and are unable to deal much damage. In average, well-lit room conditions. Sure, he can cut into flesh, maybe shave off an entire hand if he's lucky. But the heat will cauterize the wound created, preventing blood loss. And because the heat will burn the nerve endings, the pain will be gone in seconds. In a good heatwave, he can make weapons that slice flesh like butter, but holding the weapon itself will be quite hot. Impossible for him to hold without thick, insulated gloves.
  • One with Light - With sufficient enough light, he can become one with the body of light for a split second, before appearing somewhere else in reach of the same body of light. It's basically teleportation within a body of light. So he can travel kilometres under the sun, as long as he sees where he is going to teleport next. However, teleporting repeatedly and/or long distances would make him nauseous. Pushing it would likely make him faint. This will also happen when he uses a weak source of light as a medium for teleportation. Additionally, it should be known that he carries the same momentum while teleportation, which is not altered, redirected, or strengthened, via "teleportation". Meaning... He can't use it to cushion his fall if he's already falling at terminal velocity.

If two bodies of light from two sources touch each other, they will count as one, and Lu can traverse anywhere else where that light touches.

  • Armament Warp - Throwing his light armament and warping at it. A combination of the previous two abilities. This is the only way Lu can teleport between separated bodies of light, or from light to dark, or dark to light. He can throw an armament, like a throwing knife, and teleport to it, replacing the armament. This way, he can make a two-way trip by placing a light knife at a lit area, throwing one to the dark, teleporting there, do what needs to be done, and back. His light weapons will remain material for a while as long as it's in a light source. Given that, an armament won't last very long and will soon grow weaker when in the dark.

Personality:

Lu is a reasonably disturbed and traumatized child that stems from his social stigma. He isn't very talkative, and usually only keeps to himself, often not bothering to initiate conversations. Not that he has problems holding them.

Since becoming a Fateless, he felt like he needed to "grow up" and start "thinking like an adult." Which wasn't too hard for a child who never had anything, but love, given to him on a silver platter by his mother. In a sense, he was raised well. He isn't spoiled, and he can handle himself somewhat. He is also open-minded and empathetic for his age.

However, being the child he is, despite being given a taste of the harsh, real world, he is still somewhat a naive and innocent child. With no prior experience with battle, it can't be helped that he would show hesitation while fighting.

As a bookworm and former top-of-the-class, he is smarter and more knowledgeable than the average child his age. And since his main hobby is reading, he can attain more knowledge to adapt to the different era.

Bio:

Lucis Karadyre, nicknamed Lu, was born into a pretty harsh childhood. At least, in the standards of Hiral. It was still significantly better than the outskirts. However, as a low-class family, many luxuries the average person in Hiral would have are not known to Lucis. His mother, a labourer, had to spend a majority of her earnings just for Lu to go to school, which is what Fate dictated, according to the Bishops. As for his father... Lu didn't actually get to know him, the man was out of his life before he could even walk. His mother, Esta, barely talked about him. But in truth, his father came to a tragic end when he was caught not paying for extra food soon after Lu's birth. Thrown to The Outskirts mercilessly, while the vendor, who gave the offer, was left unharmed.

Fate could be cruel. Lucis didn't have to learn about his father to think so.

Fate dictated that at school, he would have many friends, human friends. Being the xenophobes the kids are, they tend to play pranks and bully those of other races. Lu, being an innocent soul back then, joined in. Completely unaware of how he was actually hurting people. However, during the beginning of one school year, his "friends" turned on him. They called him a "low-life", "Lu-ser", and physically harassed him. They have learnt of Lu's living conditions at home somehow, perhaps the Bishops told them. It was at the age of 9 he realized... He was being a horrible person, and he regretted that. But, for a young mind, he can't apologize to those he had wronged, because he was hated.

He never had much fun again, to the point where he absolutely refused to go to schools on certain days. His mother, being the understanding woman she is, confronted him about it. Lu confided in her. "Everybody there hates me! They always hurt me, and I'm too weak to fight back!" He expressed his feelings with what little knowledge of language he had at the time. His mother's reply would change him for the rest of his life. "Lu, forget about the people who hate you. But remember, you're the light of our lives." He was hugged. "And there's nothing we wouldn't do to make your life brighter." He understood why his parents named him Lucis, which was an ancient language for light.

Esta allowed him to skip school for a day and brought him a public library nearby. The boy was barely literate, and never really had a fondness for books. But they found very intriguing books that told stories of lands far away. Grand stories of both fiction and non-fiction, and stories of adventures lasting years. It certainly cheered Lu up. He began reading these library books at school, and even the school books he was given, before he knew it, over the years, he was one of the higher scoring students in the class. Which, for kids, was like holding a large "I'm different!" sign. Giving mean-spirited kids more incentive to bully him.

Kids could be the worst. Losing the number one spot in a class could be a big hit to their undeveloped egos.

One of these bullies was renowned as being the smartest kid in class and is a well-known know-it-all. To be outdone by a low-class mongrel like Lucis was a matter of pride. The kid ordered his "henchmen" to pin weak Lu to the wall, while he proceeded to burn one of the books Lu borrowed from the library. Using a magnifying glass, which is something only the pampered richer kids would own. A small speck of fire eventually spread, and Lu was powerless to stop it. But the kid also did a surprising thing. While the book was burning at it's fullest, the bully burned himself at his wrist deliberately by bringing it for an open fire. Leaving a very obvious burn.

Destruction of private property, and assault. These were crimes Lu was apparently responsible for. While not strictly a violation of Fate's Boundaries, it was one.

The father of said book-burner was a Bishop. When his son came home hurt and "crying", he gave the tall-tale of Lucis burning his own book and throwing it at him as a weapon. Naturally, this story was "true". The Bishop gave Lucis "divine punishment" and treated him as if he broke Fate's Boundaries. After all, "If The Bishops demand something of you, you must adhere to their words, no matter what it may be." The Bishop demanded Lucis Karadyre to die as "payment" for harming his son. It was the epitome of unfairness and corruption. But Lucis could barely complain as he was taken forcibly from his mother by the Bishop's men. Everything was a blur, and when he woke up. It was morning, and Lucis was chained to a large boulder. He only needed a quick look around to realize he was now part of the dung of society, The Outskirts. As the sun got hotter, so did the boulder. But it was scorching like being cooked over a fire. But death didn't come fast. He spent hours writhing and screaming in intense pain. Entertainment to those who watched. It didn't take long for his screams to die out, for his throat was too dry. And then he stopped moving, not because he was dead, but he was becoming numb to the pain that was definitely still there. He lasted 7 hours before his body succumbed to dehydration.

When he woke up, he felt like he just came from an extremely long dream. But, his body felt like it was being crushed by many heavy things. The smell and taste of the air were putrid. He wasn't able to tell from up and down. But he started moving, for he knew he had to get out of wherever he was. Squirming between corpses of men, women and children. He tried to call for help but his voice wasn't quite there. By the time he got out, he collapsed. Not knowing he escaped from a mound of dead.

A splash of water woke him up, and he woke up at some sort of camp. It seems he was given a second chance at life.

Appearance:

Image
  • Height: 145 cm (4'11")
  • Weight: 40 kg (88 lbs)
  • Eye Colour: Azure Blue, different from the image shown above.
  • Hair: Chestnut brown, medium length, a tad bit darker and more ruffled than the image'.
  • Skin: Tanned, a light brown. Different and darker from the image
  • Build: Slender, while not terribly thin, he could definitely eat more. If only he could.

Extra: Funfact, growing up to a busy mother, and with not a lot of money to spare. He knows how to cook simpler, non-expensive foods. He could also use his abilities to make a fire-less frying pan.
====================

So that's what I got so far. I'll try to add the rest in the next 48 hrs. I'm just wondering abilities are okay so far. I'm really trying to make his age a large drawback to otherwise a potentially OP ability. And of course. He's going to act, and think like a child, albeit a mature one, but a child. Which is well.. Sometimes not desirable.
