[REQ] Not-Pokémon

Post by Maxx[2.0]ine » Wed May 20, 2020 12:50 pm

You are not-Pokémon. No, I don't mean that you're not Pokémon. I really mean that you're not-Pokémon.

I should probably actually say what I mean.

In the world this story will take place in, humans have types, moves, abilities. They are essentially Pokémon. Except they're not. They are not-Pokémon. And, no, Pokémon do not exist in this world. Animals are just regular animals.

But what does exist, is evil. Evil teams, that is. Team Liev. An evil team who specialises in the Fire and Steel types, with plans to dominate the region.

And, in usual Pokémon - uh, I mean, not-Pokémon - fashion, it's up to a bunch of twerps to stop them because apparently the Fire-specialists that are the police are useless. Hm…

Anyway, no one knows that yet. Don't tell anyone what Team Liev have been doing! There have been a few random issues, but those are just random. Totally random. Not related to anything at all.

Unfortunately, these totally random incidents have affected this year's gym challenge. Because, yes, that exists.

In eighteen of the region's twenty-five cities and towns, there are gyms that specialize in types. Defeating at least eight of these gyms grants people access to the Fighting League, and people are allowed to begin their journeys starting age 13 - though, many do decide to wait until they're older to do so.

Usually, when setting off on these journeys, people are given 'Health Monitors', which tell the user how much HP they have left. However, one of the totally random incidents involved the truck meant to be delivering them getting hijacked. Which meant that it was impossible to give everyone their own Health Monitor. As a result, it was decided that those starting their journeys this year were to go in groups, with one Health Monitor from last year's stock per group, until more could be made. This also made it safer in general.

And that's where our characters come in. Maybe they know each other, maybe they don't, it doesn't matter. They were put in a group to go travelling. And that's it. They totally won't have many encounters with Team Liev as they explore the region. Not at all.

I'm just gonna put my characters for this here, just in case anyone does join...

Name: Snowdrop Yuriko
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Height: 5'5"
Weight: 94.7lbs

Appearance: Snowdrop has pale grey eyes with light blonde hair, and rather pale skin; all a result of her ghost typing. She often wears bright pastel colors, however, contrasting this. It is not uncommon to see her 'walking' around without her shoes, as not really needing them as a result of her Levitate leads her tending to forget about them. Unless her mother does something about, Snowdrop can leave the house looking rather messy. She is also seen carrying about a tattered journal/notebook, in which she does many sketches of her friends - her ghostly ones, that is.

Type: Fairy/Ghost
Ability: Levitate - Receives full immunity to all Ground-type moves by floating in the air

Moves:
- Shadow Ball - Spectral Thief - Moonblast - Dark Pulse -

Stats
HP: 110
Attack: 45
Defense: 93
Special Attack: 117
Special Defense: 70
Speed: 75

Other: Snowdrop was dead when she was born, but was brought back by a team of excellent doctors. If it were not for this, she would have died a pure Fairy-type; she gained her Ghost type from the time she spend on the other side. As a result, she always seems to walking the line between this world and the next. This means that she can see and interact with ghosts, but also seems rather spaced out.

Name: Dyrk Wilson
Age: 13
Gender: Male
Height: 5'2"
Weight: 101.2lbs

Appearance: Dyrk has dark black hair and blue eyes. He looks pretty much like how you'd expect a thirteen year old to look. Tee shirt, jeans, hoodie. Pretty basic stuff. Except for the metal claws on his left hand, the only physical thing alluding to his Steel-typing.

Type: Steel/Poison
Ability: Heavy Metal - Doubles weight

Moves:
- Metal Claw - Poison Fang - Iron Head - Wake-up Slap -

Stats
HP: 110
Attack: 110
Defense: 85
Special Attack: 45
Special Defense: 40
Speed: 70

Other: Dyrk was adopted by his current family, after his biological parents were killed in an accident. His adoptive parents let him choose to either continue schooling or go on his journey once he turned thirteen; he chose his journey.

Hm... You can't an exact human copy of a Voltorb/Electrode, but you can still be an electric type with the same or similar stats to one of them.

By 'an exact human copy', I mean having the characteristics of them. Like rolling around to move and exploding at the slightest jolt. Mainly because that wouldn't work in the world. Though, with the exploding bit, that would still work if it was exploding as in anger rather than literal exploding...

Basically, you can, but you still need characteristics that aren't just a Voltorb or Electrode.

Nope. As long as you're not a Ghost/Dark type with Wonderguard, lol. That's the only combination that's not allowed.

What is the intended power level? I don't want to make something too powerful
