[F][Reserved] Doki-Doki Channel: Lights Out

Post by UmbraSight » Tue Jan 24, 2017 3:43 pm

They think themselves safe, you know. Protected. Defended. They believe those children, those witches, can defend them, that their guns and walls will grant them harbor against the billowing storm. They think us… Pacified. So long as they remain behind their walls, so long as they have those little girls to lend them safety through the blighted nights and waning days, then they are safe. So long as they huddled together against the corruption beyond their gates, so long as they never let the nightmares creep in through the closet door or out from under the bed, then their pale flickering light will never go out.

All wishful thinking of course.

Even the limited creatures born from the drifting fears of man can feel it. The building background, that subtle twist to their worry, that shivering anxiety. Before us, a city you once called home, Maginot, a survivor's encampment which grew from the evacuation of Paris and her surrounding towns.

Now reclaimed, or so the humans believe.

Maginot is more than just another human settlement, more than another collection of buildings that scrape against the distant sky, Maginot is a heart. Like New Kyoto to the east, Maginot is a weakness. A hub of communication and entertainment, home to Europe’s strongest witches, names known throughout the continent and the world beyond, protected by the grand weapons of man, behind a wall of steel and stone.

But still, a weakness.

If Maginot were to fall, fail like its historic namesake did before it was given purpose afresh in our rising, then with the city’s passing the continent will follow. All it takes the the right push, the correct application of force and mind, and all that the humans have built will come toppling down.

And once Europe falls, the humans will remember our might, and the world shall be pushed ever closer to the same desolate end.

Won't that be… Nice?

You are Turned after all, I wouldn't wish you to waste your time on a lesser goal.

La Beouf
Alone she drifts from ancient mists
Nary a candle, nary a wish
But in the wont of wandering paths
Through wooded knolls, and windworn crags
She seeks a face she thought as friend
But now -- she thinks as judgement's end
