"I...... was talking.... to the humann...." He seemed to wheeze as he hastened his effort to get to his room. This could suggest his reserves had nearly ran out as he leaned against the wall for support, eventually opening his door and flopping in. Letting out a small amount of ether from his room while he recovered.

The old doors to the inn creaked softly as another newcomer entered. It was a relatively small sphereical creature, perhaps about a foot in height when mesuring its torso alone, with a pair of large wings in place of arms and no limbs otherwise. It had an elegant, bird-like tail, with a long streamer tipped in another large feather trailing down on either side. The creature's entire body was covered in mottled silver, dark-gray and white feathers, with two green stripes on the ventral parts of both wings. Three long feathers stuck up on its head, looking as though they were to eventually grow into a full crest. It featured a cute dark gray stripe across its nose, adding a little bit of charm to its otherwise strange appearance.

The somewhat-birdlike monster scanned the area with its dark blue eyes, hanging back toward the door for a moment before cautiously gliding further in. It gave a soft, almost metallic chirp of greeting as it observed the others in the room, tilting its head inquisitively in this new environment.

A figure with his head down --draped across the bar countertop-- shifts around out of sleep. Zadok had been resting after suffering from a draining curse. He did not have much meat on his bones, and retained the same haunting expression as from the night before, but he seemed to have recovered his mind from the terrible experience.

Zadok smiles at the folks he sees across the bar in his usual, friendly way. He tries to give a small wave to the newest winged-visitor in the doorway as if to say "everyone is welcome here at the Inn".

The newcomer took notice of Zadok and turned to look at him with an expression of friendly curiosity, once again tilting her head somewhat. She seemed intrigued by all the others around, and carried with her an aura of cheerfulness that seemed to follower her wherever she went.

Shimmer wanted to talk with everyone she saw, but she wasn't sure she wanted to use her power just yet. She knew it could feel a little invasive, and she didn't want to make anybody uncomfortable. It was almost like telepathy, but she wasn't a telepath. Rather, though she was unable to speak vocally, Shimmer was able to emit electric waves that the brain received and translated as messages and words, much like telepathy, but somewhat different. That was how she communicated, though she couldn't read anyone's thoughts, so they had to give her a vocal answer back in order for her to understand.

Shimmer stopped in front of an old wooden table, appearing to examine it for a moment. She brushed one wing gently over its surface before turning and moving on, flying slowly around the room as she explored. Her last stop was next to the bar counter, where she greeted Zadok once again with a smile and an upbeat chirp.

Zadok smiled back. He looked like a skinny, yet adventurous, young man. His eyes seemed to tell stories of far-away places.

"Be welcome", he said "This is a place to gather strength and to be refreshed by friends and conversation. Feel free to explore and say hello to everyone. You can also check the bulletin board at the front for any news".

Tahki looks about in the Inn, as Moon also relaxes a little as she was set to go fight some sort of cult or something that didn't respect the values of life. Tahki then looks up and sees the bird like figure, Moon also takes note of the shift in Tahki's attention and shortly turns around too see the creature as well. "Well, that's new" Moon said quietly, as Tahki quickly responded towards Moon "isn't our cores of similar shape? Maybe it's an Elemental like us." Tahki pondered as Moon shows doubt on her face with that question.

"I wonder what it eats..." Moon then starts to think out loud while observing the figure "bird seed? no... too obvious. Fruits? Cookies? Hmmm..."

Shimmer nodded and chriped her thanks at Zadok before turning to explore around a bit more. She took notice of something nearby and turned her head to it- a container of some sort further into the room. She sensed electric energy from it, and she was certainly hungry...

The birdlike creature flew over to the container and parted her jaws, then began literally eating the electricity out of the container. Hopefully it wasn't something important.

Moon tilted her head "it feeds on energy? Well... Elementals are made of raw energy. Here little fella, you'll probably like to have this rather chewing on what ever that is." As Moon forms a small pellet of energy, its raw plasma, what would be lethal for most to even touch as plasma is extremely hot, and pack nearly a billion joules of energy, like a lightning bolt packed into a small package. "Careful though, it's basically lightning." Moon explained as Tahki watched Moon and Shimmer.

"Even if it was in close proximity to us, it might just feed off our aura's." Tahki added, as she looked at Shimmer. There was a science to how Elementals work, the older they get, and the more matter that they absorb though their lifetime the more energy that they contain. Tahki being the oldest contains more energy in her origin Universe, as for Moon is just half of that. If they weren't shielded, the surrounding area would be turned into instant ash and nearby planetary objects would turn molten bodies.

Shimmer noticed the Elemental forming an orb of energy toward her, her delight growing when she noticed that it was plasma in particular. From what she could understand of language, it appeared that Moon was offering it to her. Shimmer excitedly flew over and hungrily consumed the plasma orb, letting out a cheerfu: chirp. She then looked at the duo of Elementals curiously and happily.

"Thanks for the snack!" a chipper voice seemed to suddenly say, almost seeming like it was inside both Moon and Tahki's heads.

The friendly chatter of guests, the crackling of the fire, the acrid smell of brew.

Sitting at the Inn once again, Zadok smiles to himself. It was a delight to see friendly faces after having been trapped... inside a book... for what seemed like a lifetime. The ordeal was unlike anything Zadok had prepared himself for, and it had drained the life out of him. The longer that Zadok remained stuck in the mazelike realm within his book-reality, the weaker he became, until escape seemed impossible. But then...

He looked down in reflection, "If I were to have died there, where would I have ended up? Would it, perhaps, have been for the better?" A cold sweat broke out on his brow at the conclusion that he must return to that desperate place he had struggled out of a couple of days before. "I need to know where that door will lead me... but I need help. Someone who is powerful must know more about it than I do."

Zadok looks out at everyone in the Inn. For a moment, it looks like he will say something, as if to ask a question. He leans back again in his chair at the bar, as if he has decided that it is not the right time.
