Hilo’s Right Hand Gets Sore From Drawing Bad Art Too Much

A place for those who dabble in paint. Or, you know, pixels. Because they matter too.

Hilo’s Right Hand Gets Sore From Drawing Bad Art Too Much

That’s a mouthful of a title
Soo I draw art on Flash sometimes now. Here are some drawings that I previously mentioned in the General Chat (the ones that Ubisoft actually responded to)

(the Good One)

If you couldn’t tell I mainly do trace art, but I can draw regular stuff too. If anyone wants me to draw a portrait of an OC, pm a description of it to me and I’ll draw it. I won’t do 3 at once, so I’ll post whenever the queue is full.

Oh interesting. Are they your own characters?

Just curious, how much of the original source do you use when you are doing trace art?
And looking forward to your future drawings

Trace for me is only restricted to features. I use Flash to draw a rough outline of the animal’s head and then use the paintbrush to colour the head in accordingly. The torso, arms, backgrounds, clothing and accessories are all original.
Those two are my own characters, correct. Hopefully BGE2 lives up to the hype

LET'S BRING THIS BACK!!!!

I have learned not to sketch and have adopted a base of an artstyle. I kinda don't like how it's not as impressive as many others' but I like the thick outlines and cartoonish vibe it gives off. HECK; I EVEN DREW MY AVATAR!
Image
Who would have thought?

All of these are pretty much RP based because I get a tonne of my inspiration from them. There are more.
I WILL find them

Image
- unnamed thief

Image
-For my latest 1x1

Image
- Ulrea; Secret Princess (Jerediah coming soon)

Image
- Based off Muse in Shoot The Moon

Image
- Actor 12

Image
- A race I made for Dystria. God help us all

I also make Vapourwave Backgrounds. If you want one, I can do it. Although I can only do one at a time BUT they're free

EXAMPLES:

Image
- me

Image
- AeronGrey

CHOICES:
1 - Just tell me to do whatever - Free
2 - Give me a COUPLE of limitations - Free too
3 - Be a jerk and tell me SPECIFIC THINGS - Your soul (But otherwise free)

Thanks! Any tips you can share that I can improve on? I like the thick outline style that I’m getting fond of, so that’s one of things I reckon is s key part of my work.

I agree, the black, thick outlines with the saturated colours works nicely like a lot of the other cartoonish style~
Good job on your avatar btw, is that one of your OCs?

Maybe you could take reference from other styles you really like, and then see if you want to try it out on your drawings? (not sure if that helps, but often from the various artist's works i look at I sometimes ask what mine might be lacking, or needs more refinement. Most of the time it's anatomy ;v;)

The avatar is a drawing of myself. I usually tend to draw myself with the stylized white eyes, as it's just something I do.
I'll keep studying the art-styles in mind. I haven't found one in particular that I wish to replicate, but I think I can get some ideas off of something.

Well personally I love thick lines, so keep those up! You may wish to try some lines in Photoshop to make different thicknesses in lines, which may help making them cleaner! I love the vibrant colors you do, so not much tips on that... but if you do ever want to 'pop' one thing out in a picture, then make sure to make those colors more saturated, while the rest is less saturated! Hope that helps. ^_^

Sweet! Thanks for the tips.

I might try and put these into effect in my next drawing. It might come tomorrow. Who knows?
