Let's All Mock Maxx's Total Lack Of Artistic Ability!

A place for those who dabble in paint. Or, you know, pixels. Because they matter too.

Oink! Oink oink!

I based it off of a drawing my little sister did, because I loved her piggy drawing so much.

Witness the Almighty Chonk!!!

I have an elephant teddy named Elie. I gave her an old hoodie of mine:

I decided to draw that, first on paper and then on my phone:

Here are two awesome versions of that lineart with just colors:

And then I colored and added shadows (I don't know how shadows work):

It is the Chonk Queen!
And it took me almost eleven hours in total to draw her!

(I don't know how shadows work):
Assuming you're using a digital art program you're looking at layer blend modes to create shadows for most anime type styles of art. Common choices would be "Multiply" or "Overlay" or "Hard Light" or "Screen" for lighting effects. You can create shadows by using the lasso tool to select the area and then the fill tool to fill it in, on a layer set to one of these modes. That's hard edged shadows. If you want a soft edged shadow you can use 'feather' on the selection, or, you can draw your shadow in with a fuzzy airbrush, or you can run it through a blur filter after drawing or selecting the area and filling it in.

A common mistake young artists make is using black or grey for your shadows. Light bounces off of items in the scene, so shadows aren't usually black or even desaturated. They're often bluish. So instead of just selecting a darker version of the same color, if you use a blue on a multiply layer, a shadow may appear more natural. Fool around with it. Cel shading is easier to determine how to set up but I personally find it's less fun. But it's closest in style to what you've set up here.
