"Hero? What do you mean you're a hero? You watch innocents get slaughtered by the weapons you produce and then you sit back and act complacent, like you always do, expecting it all to fucking disappear. You need to answer for the death you've caused, Mitchell. You're turning into a monster."

[0:01] I: And again, thank you for having this interview with us, Mr. Stervos.

[0:03] S: Mhm.

[0:05] I: Alright, let's begin with talking about Promethean. You're a self-made billionaire, as evidenced and told in your new book Exploring the Atomic Domain. However, we're less concerned about your beginnings so much as where you want to take this corporation.

[0:18] S: Well, Promethean deals in futuristic technology and releasing said technology to the public-- and, as I've been criticized for doing in the past, this research entails the construction and sale of defense technology, which includes weaponry. I've considered expanding into related fields-- artificial intelligence, drones, and the like-- but for now, we're limiting our scope to what we already have going on right now, which is human-piloted and controlled electronics.

[0:43] I: Mhm. And this research, as you've stated, has led to the public sphere criticizing your actions, calling you a "Merchant of Death" like Alfred Nobel and other weapon manufacturing corporations.

[0:55] S: ... I'm sorry, was there a question?

[1:02] I: Well- uh, moving on, you've stated in the past that you are a large proponent of "trust-busting" and have argued for the breakup of MAVU Industries multiple times in the past. Now, after having accumulated so much wealth and influence, do you still stand by your words?

[1:26] S: What kind of question is that? Really? Promethean is a singular defense corporation, not a complete monopoly like MAVU. They have Detroit under their thumb, not to mention their expansion into almost every STEM-related field-- Promethean, I'm happy to say, is nothing like them. We stick to a singular goal and we work to refine what we've already made.

[1:48] I: Do you consider your company to be free from any scandals or controversies? How do you respond to the allegations of Promethean selling missiles and explosive weaponry to terrorist groups?

[1:58] S: Excuse me?

[2:00] I: There have been documents released--

[2:03] S: Is this your "gotcha" journalism question? Really? Selling to terrorists? That's the most ludicrous claim I've ever heard. Why would we--

[2:11] I: --that speak of selling weapons to Chechen rebels, outlined in documents--

[2:15] S: Bullshit documents. Any rumors that have been told about leaks from our private servers are just that. Rumors. And I don't particularly enjoy being asked shit like this when I walk in front of a camera. You want the truth? The truth is that our weapons are being used to kill terrorists, not arm them, you ignorant asshole. This interview's over-- and do your research next time.

"Why don't we talk about your recent divorce?"

"Why don't I punch you in your fucking teeth?"

Divisive in personality as well as ideology, Mitchell Stervos has remained a controversial public figure during his time as the CEO of Promethean Technologies, an LA-Based corporation that deals primarily in defense and weapon technology. The track record of the company has remained relatively scot-free up until late 2017, where a reported leak from private data servers detailed various transactions with mercenary groups-- terrorist groups, specifically, with liberation fronts in the Middle East and Chechnya being the two main groups outlined in the leak.

Stervos fervently denies the claims.

What the public doesn't know is the status of Promethean as a supplier to Icarus, a largely clandestine and separated government entity with which Mitchell Stervos makes a decent profit selling arms to. The company's experimental arms and enhanced technology for soldiers is the main interest of Icarus; it's a simple relationship, really, and Stervos does well enough to draw any unwanted attention away from the company and towards himself, due to his larger-than-life personality and bellicose temperament in interviews and public events. Elon Musk might have sent a Tesla Roadster towards Mars, but Mitchell Stervos got into a fight with security at Expo 2017 and incapacitated 5 security guards until he was taken into custody. The charges were dropped, thankfully.

Stervos' aggressive comportment is, in a way, balanced out by his stunning level of intellect and problem-solving skills for which he has gained much renown among fellow scholars.

Over a decade of work in the field of Quantum Physics, as well as participating in experimentation with particle physics have led to Stervos writing The Atomic Domain, a book which discusses a theoretical "subatomic realm" which can be accessed by means of shrinking to a nigh-incomprehensible level. While the scientific community is incredibly hesitant to discuss and accept the theory, seeing as documentation is nearly impossible in the current state of technology, Stervos' subsequent work in discovering a new subatomic particle [dubbed the "Atlas Particle"] net him and multiple others a Nobel Prize in Physics and a dramatic increase in shareholders. In the years after receiving the award, Promethean's resources have been largely diverted away from previous projects; instead, the company put its capital towards research and development of technology that is able to harness the Atlas Particle-- as well as weaponize it.

The Atlas Particle is an elementary particle, incredibly rare in appearance and prevalence, that is able to alter the size and mass of objects it interacts with on a near physics-breaking level. The particles, when interacting with objects, bypass the square-cube law entirely, allowing the object to retain its properties and undergo normal processes that would be physically impossible at its changed size; it allows the object to behave normally, so to speak, even when at a decreased [or increased, in some cases] size. Processes that would be impossible for humans at a minute magnitude would become possible, such as blood flow and the body supporting its own weight via the skeleton. As such, there has to exist an Atlas Field around every atom of matter; and, subsequently, changing the relation of the Atlas Particle to its relative field would be able to change the size of an object while maintaining its original properties.

The Atlas Particle has been harnessed by Promethean to shrink, as opposed to growing; while an increase in size for humans would be beneficial in various cases, the risk of overworking the human body by such a large increase in mass is too high. Stervos is an asshole, but he does not cut corners. The elementary particle, when controlled in its properties and interactions via a quantum regulator, is able to shrink and resize objects at will. Such a regulator, however, is incredibly expensive to manufacture as well as maintain; in addition, a damaged regulator could end with disastrous results upon the user, such as entry into the Atomic Domain.

Seeing as the nature of the Atlas Particle's resizing properties violates the conversation of energy, the excess matter generated or depleted by resizing has to end up somewhere; the where, Stervos proposed, being the Atomic Domain1; an area-- perhaps a separate universe-- past the subatomic level. Mitchell Stervos claims to have visited the dimension due to a horrific accident in which his regulator was damaged, sending him past a subatomic level and entering him into the realm he'd theorized. The scientific community heavily doubts the verity of these claims, though the existence of the Atlas Particle is quickly becoming accepted as fact.

"You said you'd give up designing weaponry."

Veronica Stervos gave an unrelenting glare to her ex-husband. Frankly, she didn't know why she still talked to him-- perhaps it was some sort of... semblance of love she still had for him that drew her back each time, forcing her to check up on him and see if he wasn't spiraling. Every time she visited, there was always something new he did that made her remember why she left him.

Mitchell covered his face with his hands for a moment, reluctant to even broach the subject of what she was referring to.

"I--"

"No. No, you don't get to speak-- for once in your fucking life, just shut your Goddamn mouth."

Mitchell paused, standing in the middle of his dining room. A glass of whiskey sat on the table, sweating. He quickly grabbed and took a drink from it.

"You yourself told me that the weapon manufacturing in Promethean was over. And now, weeks later after you said those very words-- you go on live television and unveil some sort of fucking... weaponized suit that you've been working on for months. Months, you said. I... I don't even know why I'm surprised that you'd lie to me at this point, but it still hurts, Goddammit. You fucking asshole."

"What the hell do I owe you, Veronica? An apology? I'm sorry I lied and didn't unveil a top-secret company project. Do you know the people who'd want my research? What they'd do if they got their hands on an unfinished prototype--"

"That's not the FUCKING POINT, MITCHELL! JESUS CHRIST--"

Veronica paused for a moment, tears welling in her eyes as she looked away from the man she was arguing with. Conversations with him about work-- they were all the same, always ending with both of them hating each other more.

"... the point is that all these years, you've been making tools of death. Destruction. And it's finally beginning to dawn on me that maybe, just maybe, I could have convinced you otherwise. You may not have a fucking conscience, but I do, and it keeps me awake at night."

Mitchell gave a long stare off into the negative space of the dining room, debating his next words carefully as he traced a finger around the rim of his glass of whiskey. After a moment, he looked to Veronica, who'd since turned away to stare out the window.

"I did... what I needed to do. For peace. The technology my company produces helps the world, Veronica, and brings security. That suit? It's not designed for the military, or fighting terrorists, or-- any of that. Look around you. The world's falling into chaos, metahumans are killing for sport. I created that suit as an answer."

Veronica turned to Mitchell and let out a scoff, closing her eyes and raising her eyebrows for a moment as she cocked her head.

"Keep telling yourself that, Mitchell."

Designed with the intent to protect against the threat of incredibly destructive entities, the Atlas Sub-Atomic Particle Suit [ASAP Suit for short, and dubbed the "Quantum Suit" by Stervos] began in construction at the end of 2016 with the recent discovery of the Atlas subatomic particle. Construction of a working prototype finished at the beginning of 2018, and the unveiling was a response to the criticisms of Promethean being "unamerican" and "selling to terrorists". Shortly after, Veronica Stervos cut off all ties to Mitchell and left him to spiral even further in light of her abandonment; however, the corruption of the billionaire's mental state is owed not to the divorce and near-downfall of his company-- he was perfectly capable of finding another wife, and his popularity among the American public, despite his constant demeanor, was at an all-time high-- no, the deterioration of Mitchell's sanity was owed to the Atlas Particles' effects upon his brain chemistry. The transformative process of shrinking deals leagues of mental and physical strain upon a human's body-- and Mitchell, being the pioneer in such a field of technology, was unaware of the initial risks regarding the side-effects of the usage of the Atlas Particle.

While the ASAP Suit is perfectly capable of harnessing the properties of the Atlas Particle and distributing its size-changing effect across the entirety of the human body it encapsulates, the lack of knowledge regarding the adverse effects upon the human brain has resulted in a complete absence of protection regarding this issue. Subsequently, as Mitchell uses the ASAP Suit more and more, his sanity weakens further and further as his brain chemistry changes to favor activity in the amygdala, the part of the human brain associated with fear, resulting in heightened aggression and irritability. In addition, Stervos has acquired acute insomnia as a result of recurring nightmares of what he believes to be the Atomic Domain; these visions were due to the malfunction of his suit's regulator and his subsequent travel to the subatomic level.

Multiple tests of the in-suit flight system have, in the past, failed entirely upon the shrinking process. Arduous attempts were made to correct this catastrophic failure of the propulsion system upon activation of the suit, and the error has since been rectified.

"If anyone ever, and I mean ever, brings up the time I fell at terminal velocity into a fucking swimming pool-- I will murder you."

[APETH]

The APETH system in place over the entirety of the ASAP Suit allows the user to change the Atlas Particle's coupling to its field, which subsequently allows the user to change his or her size freely. The regulator in place upon the suit uses its default size as that of an insect-- millions of times smaller than the average human, proportionally. The suit, while still allowing the user to function normally as a human, uses the change in density involved with shrinking in order to drastically increase the user's strength and force of punches. If enough strength is put behind an attack, the person inside the ASAP Suit is capable of punching through some of the strongest metals, let alone a human body.

With a working regulator, Mitchell is able to shrink the ASAP Suit at will, allowing for creative-- and devastating-- methods of attack. An on-suit propulsion system is capable of giving the ASAPS flight capabilities; the smaller his size, the faster he is able to travel due to the constant power of the jets as opposed to his resized mass, which allows for higher speeds.

Advanced Combat Mechanical Arms
[ACMA]

On the ASAPS' back is a set of four metal arms, joined with the exoskeleton of the suit frame as to not allow them to be easily removed by force; they are able to extend past the suit's arm span and crudely grab objects, and are able to fire bursts of high-strength beams of energy that are able to pierce heavily durable materials. They are charged by means of a battery that stores kinetic energy, converting it into viable ammunition to be expended by the arms. Shrinking and resizing is capable of charging the battery as well.

In addition, sharpened spikes with refined diamond edges are able to extend from the tips of the arms, allowing for digging into surfaces for stabilization as well as hand-to-hand attacks. Mitchell himself is trained extensively in operating the suit, as well as designing a combat method that suits the ASAPS' abilities.

Well-versed in the use of firearms, Mitchell commonly rides with a briefcase full of assorted goods to ensure his protection outside of the ASAPS. A Glock 17 pistol is standard inside the case, along with a miniature Mercedes-Benz C-Class that, when activated via a device on the underside of the car, is able to resize the armored vehicle to its original dimensions. Though Promethean is working on the technology to resize the car at will without brutally crushing the occupants, a method is currently being worked on-- as is the ability to create a mobile ASAP Suit that is available to be assembled without a rigorous setup time. Due to the pressing matter of safety-- and seeing as cutting corners would end in horrible death-- Mitchell has opted to not run personal tests unless the collapsible suit is deemed completely safe for operation.

Becoming mentions Veronica, design mentions Cassandra. That an accident or is one like just the daughter and it wasn't mentioned/I missed it?
Looks cool though dude
